Wow, what a waste of bandwidth downloading this update. I don't see any point in the boxes around your friends on the friends list – it looks horrible on a small TV. The box with the time in is also seriously too large. They could have atleast made an effort with iPlayer, instead of just linking to the site. Overall, yet another completely fucked up update.

i have changed my mind its actually not that bad an update quite a few cool things in it like i found out you can copy and paste from messsages now too

I like the update bar the horrible boxes around my friends on my friends list. I can't really see myself using the what's new feature too often. I like the new trophy setup. (I went from 40% – 47% on SOCOM trophies for doing f all). I am not really too fussed about the new logo either. (It's just a logo) and I can't wait for the new dynamic themes.

i think its a nice update.. not very good, but its an average update.. and it was a very fast download operation…

Anyway, i heard that they changed the trophy system around. Platinums dont count towards your total percentage for a particular game. They only contribute to your overall lvl completion.. So everyones trophy count may go up a bit..

Again, i just heard that was a rumor, so dont spaz if its fake..

I cant wait for dynamic themes, as redbren said..

there is actually quite alot of things that people havent noticed that was in the update.

1. although there isnt any, ive heard that the update also lets us get new avatars from the playstation store. but the avatars arent on the store yet so i guess we will just have to wait until the store updates.

also

2. I took a look at Hakoom's trophies just before the update, (if u dont know who he is, he is the no.1 guy in the world for trophies) and he was LV 18 after the update he had suddenly leaped to LV 22. any ideas what this means? hes not a hacker if thats what ur thinking as it has happened to all of the worlds top trophy collecters. its hasnt happened to me yet (dont know that it will) just wondering if it has happened to anyone else yet?

also with the things with the grey boxes around ur friends, i think that that was a good idea but i do agree that the grey is a bit ugly. its probably so that we can use certain themes because i know that when i use a theme that has a white background it makes it impossible for me to read what the writing says as it is also in white but it would have been better if we could have had a little customisation of what colour it was as i wouldnt have minded and electric blue box

Boo hoo!! There are gray boxes around the friends list now. Anybody ever stop to think that if you have a similarly colored background then your friends names and the games they were playing were hard to read?? You wanted it to look pretty – they added the sparkles, you wanted functionality – they put in some gray boxes.

I think this update was perfect. Sony fixed everything that they said they would. Beyond that there was a public statement that cross game voice chat would not be added until later so no surprises there either.

If you're gonna complain, complain about something valid. Are there any features we lost? Was there any promises broken?

People are allowed an opinion so trying to police a forum is pointless, most people don't like the appearence like myself which is fine as the only major appearence change before this was when they jazzed up the XMB menu, everything else is fine and was useful. If you don't like reading people's opinions then you really are in the wrong place as stating your opinion on the topic at hand is fine but commenting on people's opinions is pointless as this IS A FORUM!!

Ok, so i was using 3.00 for a little while.. i like it. I think it is great.

Dont really have a problem with the gray boxes, i mean they are annoying, but they are not THAT bad.. could be worse. The whats new thing is awesome. Tells you the Last 3 games you played, and you can launch the game directly from there.

I also noticed that in the top right corner, that INFO Box, it tells you how many of your friends are online, which is cool. I also noticed that everything is loading a lot faster, a lot crisper. And if you view a persons profile, or perform a few other actions, your background gets blurred, which is a nice effect.

I really like this new update.

And LYNX – if you could customize those boxes, this update would be even better!!

i didnt like this at first but i have gotten used to it now it actually looks quite tidy now i think about it gotta wait til thursday when some dynamic themes and avatars are out only probs i am back at school on thursday damn you!!!!!!!!!!

If they start charging for all themes and for new avatars then Sony may as well rename the company Microsoft as it'll be a really low move imo.
