3.00 Firmware

i like the background getting blurry, i mean its not like amazing or anything, but its pretty cool.. 

i know there is a lot of PS Store links.. but you guys in America have it better. I have a PS Store Link under video. Im like, “wow!! Canada finally got the video store!” But no. It pops up saying “not available in your region”. WTF!! Why put it there if i cant even use it. I hate the sparkly crap, but its only there when i turn the system on, so its not that bad at all.

Why is it all the previous updates have tried to speed up loading times, but this one seems to have just f**ked all previous updates up, especially loading the freinds list with the stupid boxes…

Everyone saying how it sucks is just behaving the way half of Psn is , i had this discussion with Barkie , YES im pissed no Cross game chat , YES i believe the gamers should get what they want first then other things can be added , YES it is true sony didnt mention one thing of Cross game being included in 3.00 . Literally the day 3.00 came out i got a message telling me rumours for 3.06 ! Said there would be Voice messages , Friend Folders and more avatar options but whatever . Im siked for the new avatars , i dont care to buy , if it makes me look cooler and show off my favourite gaming characters then hell yes ! Or you can be completely stupid and keep your old school ones 😀 Just hold tight , i have a feeling Ps3 will come through . And at the 60 $ per year xbox thing , im quite sure that goes towards thier online servers and performance which is what Ps3 lacks when it comes to online sometimes .

Sony won't come through when it comes to charging for something. Before i get the forum police saying stupid sh*t in return i know that i don't have to buy it as i'm not a retard ok. I think that were all going to find that any avatar on the store will have to be bought regardless of what it is and how pretty it is i mean if they charge suckers $1.50 plus for crappy furniture and cloths in HOME then whats going to stop them charging for something so simple and 100% effortless and yeah we might get PSN for free but we also get sh*t on alot as consumers, i'll always be faithful to sony as i know most of you guys will be to but when is the constant charging for the stupidest crap going to stop.

On a lighter note i must i'm starting to throughly enjoy 3.00, my niece and nephew came over the other day and they loved the LBP and Afrika dynamic themes.

The 3.00 firmware is nothing big. But there are reasons for no cross-game chat and those gray boxes around the friends lists. There is no online gamplay cross-game chat because that would screw up the servers, I read that in this other forum. Offline gameplay (campaing and similar) probably will show up, online might come aswell but not before offline. The gray boxes are there because people complained how there themes coverd up the friends names, so if there was a big white explosion in the backround you would not be able to see the names. It was also hard to write msg so people with white backrounds so they fogged up the backround when you write msg and stuff.

So Sony fixed what they could and released the firmware earlier.

Agreed, they will charge though because there is only a very small population including myself that isn't stupid enough to pay for those items.
