Has anybody else heard about this game?
Its a homage to old-school gaming, mainly Zelda.I really like the look of this game, and i'll most likely be getting it.
Theres some gameplay footage, its about 30 seconds long, so no excuse for not checking it out!!
April 27, 2010 at 11:48 pm #61294I773D33MABL3MemberI saw the video ages ago on the Jap store. I like the idea of what they've done but I'm not too sure if the novelty will last. If the gameplay is as basic as it looks then nostalgia just won't hack it.
April 28, 2010 at 2:30 am #61305parnakasMemberPerhaps, but i think the overall idea of the game is awesome. I mean, its gonna feel great to play something with a completely different feel then anything around at the current moment. And i thought the same thing about LBP, i mean, i thought the gameplay was going to be really damn basic and boring, but it turned out be sensational.
Also, you can create your character from the ground up, pixel by pixel:

Thats a quick video of creating a character. The game has also gotten pretty good reviews, averaging out about an 80% overall.
I'm gonna be getting this one for sure. Also, keep in mind, its a retail game, but is selling for about $40 – $45. As oppose to the usual $70 here in Canada. So that makes it a must-have for me.
May 19, 2010 at 1:02 am #61991parnakasMemberWell, I can say that I have just got the game yesterday, and I have been playing for a while. And I must say, this game is awesome.
The difficulty level is challenging, but not ridiculous, which is great. The graphics are beautiful and unique, the textures are fantastic. The character selection and customization is really cool, and its a lot of fun making a character from scratch that you can use in the game. The music is so retro, which is cool, but like the retro music, it gets repetitive.
As far as gameplay, this game really doesn't do anything new. Its pretty much identical to the classic zelda games, just more refined. But damn.. it is freaking fun. You can upgrade your sword to be freaking huge, almost takes up the whole screen lol!! The boss fights are pretty challenging (I have only played 2 of them), and the regular enemies can be tricky, but are pretty easy for the most part. As for the RPG elements, its great. There are some side-quest missions, main missions, weapon upgrading and the best mini-game ever.
So, if you were considering this game at all, or you are a huge old-school gamer, get it. It is fantastic, and you will not be disappointed. I wasn't to sure about this game, but it exceeded my expectations.
If you have no idea what this game is, go look at some trailers and gameplay vids. And a bonus – its only $35 and is a retail game.
Overall, its definitely worthy of an 8.5, and I'm only about 2.5 hours in.

May 21, 2010 at 8:10 pm #62084GHOST305MemberI agree, I got the game about a week ago and its fun to play. Its different from the typical games that are out nowadays. Plays just like Zelda (puzzles are similar also, imo) and even has some funny comments relating to other games.
