a price cut would mean more ps3's sold and more game brought from activision like modern warfare2
June 25, 2009 at 2:17 am #28884CoryAllenMemberohh ok. more people to buy more games. i get it. thank ya
June 25, 2009 at 2:46 am #28889gow2rulesMemberbut also this would not help sony as i think they are still losing around $50 for every ps3 sold
June 25, 2009 at 2:47 am #28890DJMcKayMemberWell guess what, I bought 2 of the games they dropped in Leisure Suit Larry and Ghostbusters (boy were they stupid in dropping *that*), I haven't played WoW in 6 months (the news that Activision now owns Blizzard is just shocking) and have no plans on buying anything they put out in the foreseeable future. They screwed the pooch on Spider-Man3 and I hope Marvel goes with another company for any future Spider-Man games. Actually… I think in response to this Activision's partners (such as Marvel) should pull thier support from them for being such dumbasses. I plan on buying a 80GB PS3 right away since my 40GB is filling up and will do so regardless the price, and to be honest I'm still miffed at Sony for lowering the price by cutting the backwards compatability for PS2 software. You want to put out a cheaper version then fine, but let us have the choice.
June 25, 2009 at 2:53 am #28891gamerbenMemberim sure u can still get a 60Gb from ebay. mines 60Gb, but tbh i dont really use PS2 games anymore. played them once or twice in my ps3 but that is it
June 25, 2009 at 3:01 am #28893CoryAllenMemberyeah it's not too fun to play a ps2 game when you could be playing a ps3 game on your ps3. my ps3 has backwards compatability but i don't need it really.
@ gow2rules are they still losing that much? i thought by now it'd be a bit closer to profit

used to be more but if they cut the price they will defintly lose more money depending on how much the price cut is

a cheaper alternative is to just get a new harddrive like 250gbs one /
June 25, 2009 at 3:33 am #28897CoryAllenMemberit's simple enough. sony doesn't need to drop the price. people are buying and sony is at a loss as it is. activision is a bunch of douche bags for even wanting sony to do more. activision has forgotten who they're supposed to care about.
@gow2rules how expensive is it to do a change of ur hard drive like that?
June 25, 2009 at 3:37 am #28898gow2rulesMemberfriend of mine got a 250gb hard drive for around oz $150 and used a guide on the internet
June 25, 2009 at 3:42 am #28904CoryAllenMemberreally? with it sounding that easy and that cheap, i'm gonna have to look more into that! i've been wanting to have a bigger hard drive for a while now
June 25, 2009 at 3:45 am #28907gow2rulesMemberbe careful if u do do it as the screws are really hard to get out
June 25, 2009 at 3:48 am #28909CoryAllenMemberhmm i bet it is hard. now i'm gonna have to go look up how to do it because you're making me wonder how it works lol

just do it!!!
its so simple. But as gow2rules said, the screws are hard to take out, so dont go too hard, you wouldnt want to strip them (thats what she said ).
I have seen 160gb hdds for $100 at some retailers. And they go on sale a lot. Just ask for a 2.5″ SATA laptop hard drive, and you are good to go.
And dont throw out the old hard drive, that way if your ps3 breaks down, you can send it to sony with the original HDD, and you get to keep your bigger one.
