I'm really looking forward to this game… I've had it on pre-order for an age
An interesting story with an interesting art style, looking to take the best bits from older games rather than bring something new to the table in terms of Tech… And i think that can only be a good thing, no?
I like mental birds, crazy settings, puzzles and collectibles… But most of all i like slashing things to death with a very sharp knife… In games of course Something that's a bit 'left-field' will always catch my fancy, and this looks like it will do the job nicely With 'Hack and slash, platform based, puzzle-action-adventure' based games, and I'd say that's what this is, i think it always falls to presentation… There all the same other than that really?!
This looks like it'll be 2011's best 'alternative' game… Some can be good [The Suffering (Ps2)] and most can be pretty meh [Dante's Inferno (Ps3)], but i always think it's the presentation that sucks, not the story or idea?
An alternative 15ish hour (apparently) SP game and a free copy of the first game thrown in for free when bought new… I can see this 'doing the rounds' at the pre-owned shelves, I'm not sure how well it'll do at launch… I hope it does well anyway **Tim Burton film to follow no doubt

Anyone else interested in this??
May 30, 2011 at 10:30 pm #69851emdeepeeMemberBeen following this for a while and while I'm looking forward to playing it I'm a little bit worried it'll just be (insert generic Hack & Slash title here) with a different skin.
I kinda felt like I got burnt by Dante's Inferno (no pun intended) as I had high hopes for that game and like you said it was pretty meh!!
Whether or not I'll purchase will depend on the reviews but I'll definitely give it a chance.
Slightly off topic but would The Last Guardian be classed as “alternative”? If it is then I'd fancy that to take that particular title.
Edit: OPM have given a less than favourable review (5/10)

I think that would fall under 'classic' or something cause it's originally a PS2 title?
Dante's was ok, the whole 'Circles of Hell' was V. cool IMO… It was the lack of a difficulty trophy and the cheap feeling 'Malebolge' section is what killed it for me…
That review does seem to crush my hopes though But i do think that these days reviewers just arn't happy with anything other than near perfection… I don't think this game will be anything other than average, but i'm happy with that?
“Timing challenges are added and overdone, and some are additionally hampered by the need to shoot targets with a Pepper Grinder gun saddled with a manual aim system that is imprecise at best.” – This is the part that makes me worry the most though…
May 31, 2011 at 8:37 am #69856emdeepeeMemberWill wait for a few more reviews but 5/10 = rental for me.
The Last Guardian is part of the ICO trilogy (the first two were PS2, but this is the first on PS3). Think its due out around October.

ya and u can get the other two on ps3 as well as a hd collection. its 40 bucks pretty good considering u cant find ico anywhere. i would like them to do that with sthe silent hill games, never got to play them and now 2 is like $30 alone!!.
As for alice, looks like a rental for me, always thought this as soon as they should gameplay footage. Hopefully the first game is on disk not a code or else i wont get to play it, because the whole rental thing

I've not seen a trophy list yet so… But what i can tell you is that the achievements for the original Alice game are included within the 1000 points… Meaning that as far as achiements are concerned it's all one game.
But you do need a code –
“Online Pass Details
Online Pass – Activate your Alice: Madness Returns Xbox 360 or PS3 Online Pass* to access a bonus download of the original American McGee’s Alice.”
So it would seem that those renting won't be able to get the Platinum trophy without buying the game new or buying the 'online pass' from the store… Even though a rental and pass will still be cheaper that the game itself

I guess it would really… I'm not really familiar with any of the games though
When i say 'alternative' I kinda mean more on the side of dodgy than normal, rather than just alternative in the conventional sense… I don't think there are to many games these days that are fu*ked up and graphically violent just for the sake of it?? This ticks so many of the boxes for me I think I'm ready to overlook some of the 'alleged' problems…
I still think this is gonna be ok… Better than DN anyways

I hope it's good, and that development of his other game 'Red' continues without hiccup…
