Assassins Creed 2 and Uncharted 2.

Right, I'm having a spat with a pal of mine.

I told him he wasn't really a gamer because all he plays is COD, or FPS's in general. Literally. So, he got all upset and said 'I PLAY RPGs TOO!' Naturally, I asked him which ones. The first one he said, was ASSASSINS CREED 2. Now I think anyone you ask will tell you it's a third person, action adventure, set in an open world. Or something like that.

He came back and said 'You are given a role at the beginning of the game, right? Therefore it's an RPG.'

I said things like, you play a role in COD, in DIRT and in Uncharted 2. They're not RPGs. He said Uncharted 2 is an RPG.

Sorry, that was a lot of, 'he said, I said' I apologise.

I'm not saying the games don't contain aspects of RPGs, they both do. But that doesn't make them an RPG.

Anyway, you guys know your games. What genre would you place these games in? I know they're not, I am just trying to prove this point to him.

i would consider games where you design the character an RPG eg. Fallout, Oblivion…… so no, they are not RPG, defo action /adventure

Uncharted 2 – Action/Adventure. That one is given. If you can't figure that out, you are more clueless than a drummer holding a guitar.

Assassins Creed 2 – Action/Adventure as well. Maybe if you really wanted to, you could classify it as a stealth action game. But still, definitely not an RPG.

Just because you are given a “Role” doesn't mean its a RPG! If thats the case than EVERY single game out there is an RPG.

Even that Buzz game!!

I knew I could rely on you guys

The guy is a fool. He has a head so big he can barely carry it. I reckon, after he said he was going to google them to show me that games were both RPGs, he saw that they were both action/adventure but is too big headed to admit it.

Everyone knows someone with a really big head. You know, up themselves all the time, and can never EVER be wrong? Well think of that person, and times it by 100. Then you've got my friend here. He joined the site once as 'waheed_', someone might remember. He did a fail thread about 'FREE PS3 GAMES' and then he never came back. What an idiot.
