This was given to PSN+ subscribers, and I'm pretty sure there was some randomly chosen people too.
I know there's not many of you that have PSN+ but for those that do, what do you think of the beta?
I'm not the biggest AC fan myself, but I know it's a damn popular series so some of you might love it.
Personally, I thought the beta was pretty mediocre. It's just going to be a boring add on to the game in my opinion, unlike a game like Uncharted 2 for example, where both the online and offline are fun to play. The beta was also particularly laggy for me, and it was full of glitches. But, it's a beta so it's expected.

October 11, 2010 at 3:00 am #67129NinjacatMemberIt would be a shame to see the game reviews suffer because of a mediocre multiplayer.
And, college is taking up lots of my time, I haven't been able to be here or on Playstation much.
I must make time!
October 11, 2010 at 3:03 am #67130I773D33MABL3MemberI got the beta with my pre-order and PS+ but I haven't bothered to check it out. When I know I'm definitely getting a game I tend not to spoil it with demos or betas.
But from what I'm hearing from my friends (on- and offline) the game mode on offer is a bit of a let-down. In the previews I've read the devs have talked it up as a tense game of cat-and-mouse with a cloak-and-dagger style but as per usual they're forgetting that Joe Public doesn't always play the game as it was intended or imagined.
Apparently the game usually turns into a straight forward fight with players just legging it about hacking each other up. Depending on how the respawns work that could lead to a pretty boring and short match. Which will lead to the multiplayer dying very quickly.
If the devs are treating it as a proper Beta and looking for player feedback then I hope they bother their asses to change it up a bit. Maybe they could stack rewards on use of stealth, not being seen or caught and eh.. stealth? Or maybe there already is a reward system and people just don't give a crap. Like I said, I've yet to play it and I'm just running on opinions I've heard so anyone can feel free to correct me.

October 11, 2010 at 7:45 pm #67141Doc-BMemberI think the whole stealth based hype is awesome, it's a shame that the other players will let it down. But let's face it, AC is a fun, easy going game for the 'younger gamer'? Nothing is ever that hard and there's not even a difficulty selection… But i have hope that when the game is released to the greater public the MP stealth experience will be much better.
This is the competitive MP that the Hitman games, IMO, could never have… Simply because of the two different style's. 'I love killing with stealth, it's just my style…' I was almost going to buy this just because of the MP, and I'm no lover of V's MP.
There will no doubt be a few MP trophies, I'm not sure if the trophy list is up anywhere yet? But once those are done, and i can't see them being anything that hard in following with the other games, I'm sure there will be enough people on my 'friends list' who will be up for a proper game of stealthy 'Cat and Mouse' – Nice! My worries are with the overall idea of the MP falling flat on it's face rather than the other players letting the idea down.
I realise it won't be as good as I'm imagining in my head, but it might be the closest thing? The 'Hunter' MP game sounds sweet…
