Got the game..
pretty good story so far. Im not going to spoil anything, but its pretty good, and im about 35 mins into it.
The beginning is pretty slow, lots of talking.. but it is not boring, they dont really give you a recap of the previous story, nor do they recap the controls, should have explained them a little bit more..
its too early on to give the game a score, but i will post one once i get a further into the game.
i am full of envy right now wishing i had the game right now
November 18, 2009 at 12:16 am #50321W4RG34R3D_SN1P3RMemberThe beginning looks so slow , since you dont start off as an assassin from what ive seen .
November 18, 2009 at 1:57 am #50330parnakasMemberits not SOO slow, but it is slow.
Now that im about 3 hours into the game, i can give some more feedback.
I really like this game. The combat in pretty much unchanged, but there are a ton of new ways of fighting.. The side missions are cool, wandering around is awesome, the graphics are great (not amazing, but passable) and the story is pretty interesting.
overall, im having a lot of fun, and i was a fan AC1.
AC2 is about 1000X better than AC1. It is a very polished experience!! Recommend it for all the fans of the first game, or for anyone who is interested in it!!

Im getting this either way , my moms boyfriend is an Assassins Creed fan so i dont even need to buy it . I dont know if im going to play it though , sure ill watch him play and study the game , but if i start this on my profile and say ” Wow i hate this crap ” Then ill be pretty pissed . I know enjoying the game over trophies is a huge factor , but after watching some gameplay it doesnt look as good as they made it to be . I dont know .

November 18, 2009 at 5:52 am #50353czesionyoMemberThat's grate idea. I so prefer voices that are matched to the coutry where the game is taking place.
I always loved how they do voiceover for C&C. Every faction have correct voices :D.
Where do I sign.
And BTW all this crap about Ubisoft demand good score for AC2. Same thing was for Batman: AA few months back. I think that is just a marketing stuff so the magazine will have more buyers. Lies – thats all it is.

actually i saw a scene in AC2 were Eztio meets a guy and the guys like “You don't remember me?” and Eztio says no then the guy says ” Its me! Mario!” with Mario's accent
November 18, 2009 at 6:12 am #50356November 18, 2009 at 9:11 pm #50376BigWoopMagazineMemberPlayed a lot last night when I got this… agreed with Parnakas, it does start off slow, since you start off with before Ezio is actually an Assassin. Its good this way though, as they do a good job of setting up the story of how he becomes one, and where he learns his skills. Once you do learn some skills it gets pretty fun, and theres tons to do. Theres lots of different secret things to find, and some really unique puzzles that even had me a bit stumped at certain points, which I think is great. I'm sick of seeing the same simplistic puzzles that treat me like a toddler, its really refreshing to get a challenge there. My only real dissapointment is that in certain preview movies before the release, they showed graphics that were so good it rivaled Uncharted 2, with incredibly realistic character animations… and in game I have yet to see a single cutscene that even comes close to this, and I feel really mislead by that. Its not that the graphics are bad in any way, but the facial animations leave a lot to be desired after the preview movies I had seen. Its almost as if I previewed a game designed for PS3, but later they just released a ported xbox game instead… oh well, its still fun.
@Ratchet – Yea dude, thats how italians pronounce Mario. I have an italian uncle named Mario, and everyone always butchers the pronounciation here,,, I'm not sure he really cares though. The voice actors here sound like italian americans trying to emphasize their italian accent though, they definitely arent fresh off the boat. What gets me is how there is no explanation for why the characters in the game constantly switch back and forth between italian and english… is the Animus translating some of it, and if so, why just some and not all? It doesn't really make sense… but whatever.
November 18, 2009 at 10:57 pm #50385W4RG34R3D_SN1P3RMemberBigWoop – Dude i noticed the exact same thing , the facial animations on Ezio sometimes look really bad , like his face would just be the same for 10 seconds and his eyes have no detail to them . Yes , the voice actors ACCENT sounds ridiculously bad , and actually getting a legit italian voice actor most likely wouldve been cheaper on Ubisofts side . After watching one of MACHINIMAS gaming weeklys they revealed this one part where you have to press buttons to have a baby come out of a womans womb ? Not to mention the part that made me laugh the most ; where Ezios mom says something along the lines of ” instead of Vaginas ” . Sorry if that wasnt necessary , but thats coming straight from the game , and i just find that not called for .
November 19, 2009 at 12:00 am #50396xxKnightmarExxMemberDamn it, my connections gone back to dial-up speed so I can't even watch the last lineage because it won't buffer…not even on Youtube
November 19, 2009 at 12:17 am #50400parnakasMemberabout the accent, put the games language to italian, and you will here the real italian talk.
Anybody who talks in english, with a so called “italian” accent is going to sound like an idiot.. duh.
The game does a great job of creating the atmosphere that is Italy. Its fantastic. It feels like I'm actually in Italy, with those random guys who chase you around begging for money, thats in Italy now!! lol!
Love the game. Highly recommend you try it. Give it a chance, because it does start slow, but it really picks up, and gets fantastic!!
