Every time I try to log in to ANY of my Accounts on PS3 I get error code 8002A227. I read it means I was banned for cheating online. But I didin't. What does it mean, what do I have to do? Do I have to buy a new PS3?? Help please!
December 8, 2009 at 1:14 pm #51955W4RG34R3D_SN1P3RMemberWell ,first look back at if you cheated at all . If so then thats the obvious reason . Have you tried making a new account ? If that backfires on you then i would suggest calling Sony and tell them where to go since you basicy did nothing to deserve this “banning” . Otherwise your only other option is to buy a new PS3 , they couldve banned they whole console (Yes they do that now)
December 8, 2009 at 1:19 pm #51957Domba_carMemberNo! I never cheated online or offline for that matter. I cannot make a new account. I get a message ''You cannot use PlayStationRNetwork with this account. How do I call Sony?
P.S. Could this happen cause I downloaded some movies from stagevu.com?

No. That would be a matter for your ISP to handle, not Sony. If it were the case your internet company usually sends a warning letter or two, before handing you a pretty hefty fine. However, if you've been gamesharing at all, it could have something to do with that. Either way, that sucks dude, you might just need to make a new account.
December 8, 2009 at 2:51 pm #51967Domba_carMemberWell, I did gameshare a couple of times but Sony invented gamesharing so that people can use it. And I can't make a new account.
December 8, 2009 at 4:04 pm #51968barkiemailmanMemberHey Domba, Have you been on PSN in a chat room, or been PSN messaging anyone that you're in an arguement with?
Thats a 30 day ban for Extreme/Racial/Derogatory Language. You might have gotten tagged with the Derogatory part.
December 8, 2009 at 4:13 pm #51969barkiemailmanMember-sorry for double post-
I figured I should leave a link confirming what I left there.

On PS3 multiplayer.com a guy left a post there saying he had the same error code. If you check the post on March 9th by Sir Benjamin (PS3Media Network Security) he says thats what it means.
December 8, 2009 at 5:29 pm #51971Domba_carMemberUmm, I sent KOG17 a message saying new moon is crap of the year, said some croatian and english bad words to my cousine. Other then that, I don't know. Can I find out what I did wrong? How do I contact Sony via e-mail?
P.S. Thanks for the reply's. Don't delete me as a friend, I will be back! I hope…
December 8, 2009 at 8:46 pm #51975KnoxieMemberoh $hit, looks like im f**ked then! in chats i cant help but swear in every sentence lol.
sorry to hear about it domba but imo the ban is quite retarded unless you actually are offending someone in a message/chat.
December 8, 2009 at 9:22 pm #51978TomTom12992MemberMe and you both Knoxie.. lol…. the things that are said from each of us could easily get us banned if thats the case.
December 8, 2009 at 11:29 pm #51983parnakasMemberI highly doubt they are banning people for swearing.. or else i would be banned already..
Sony has recently snapped on those gamesharing.. maybe thats the reason. Try to phone Sony, see what they have to say about you getting banned.. ask them the possible reasons why you could have been banned.
Keep us informed Domba.
December 9, 2009 at 1:09 am #51994Ratchet525MemberSorry man, your best bet is to phone Sony. Don't email, they're customer service is really good.
December 9, 2009 at 1:39 am #51999W4RG34R3D_SN1P3RMemberIf these guys are cracking down on GameSharing im screwed . I havent gameshare recently , only entered the actual account , bud damn .
December 9, 2009 at 3:31 am #52006barkiemailmanMemberEveryone calm down about the gamesharing.
It was confirmed by Jack Tretton (Sony Prez) a while ago that gamesharing is perfectly legit. They do want you to gameshare with your friends.
The security for gamsharing is the fact that if you give your info out to share with strangers, you risk losing your entire PSN account and sony will NOT help you if that happens. Right now if someone gave me their email and password, I can log into their PSN and change the email and password from the system right away. It literally takes about 60 seconds to steal someones account and there is no way for the original owner to get it back.
So gamesharing is not a concern, but you should not gameshare with randoms.
