Edit: I just read that this could happen from glitching on HOME. I did this, so did my friend that got banned. Oh snap!
Edit 2: I just read that the PS3 ban can last 2 months. Oh Snap!!!
wow, banned for glitching in Home? That seems pretty retarded. Last I checked Home was still in Beta form, right? Ohhh,,, doesn't that mean that it may or may not have tons of glitches, and that any users are simply testing it to find said glitches, so that Sony can fix them? Seems to me that Sony should be fixing their errors, rather than banning you for doing their job by finding it for them. If thats what did it, I'm sorry to hear that, and it sounds like total bullshit to me.
January 7, 2010 at 12:03 pm #54678Domba_carMemberCan someone please check when was the last time I was online? If I'm not mistaken It's been a month and I still can't log in.

January 7, 2010 at 12:21 pm #54682Domba_carMemberThanks Emdeepee.
I'll wait another day…
January 8, 2010 at 7:41 pm #54850Domba_carMemberIt's been a month and I'm still banned… I'm sooo pissed!! Why don't they tell me what I've done wrong? What's gonna happen to all my trophies? GoW Plat, 80% GoW 2, 36% InFamous, 39% AC 2,… I don't know what else to do… Stupid Sony…
January 8, 2010 at 8:12 pm #54854MiiiitchMemberI feel for you mate i really do, i've found that in the countries that Sony does not consider mass market they tend to treat the customers like sh*t. When one of my consoles broke they refused to fix it for free although i had purchased an extended warranty from them and they keep saying they would refuse so i simply got my mother who is a lawyer to call them and remind them of the trouble they would be in if they refused. Needless to say they repaired it but thats just my story of problems with Sony i reckon if i was an american (no offence to any american on here) they would have agreed straight away.
January 8, 2010 at 8:47 pm #54855Domba_carMemberThanks for the reply Miiiitch, so I need to live in America for them to consider me as a customer? Thats just racist! Stupid Sony.
January 8, 2010 at 8:59 pm #54857MiiiitchMemberIt's all good man i would be p*ssed if that happened to me as well especially if there was no explanation given.
January 8, 2010 at 9:09 pm #54859Domba_carMemberI just phoned my friend (who also has this problem) and he said that he logged into his account on his friends PS3. Now I got 1 more Q. Can Sony ban: My IP Adress, My PS3, Both?
January 8, 2010 at 9:23 pm #54862ecurryMemberits definitely not impossible (IP and Service Tag Filtering) but i would think it to be improbable. Are you back online yet?
January 8, 2010 at 9:55 pm #54863Domba_carMemberNo, not back online. So to go back online I have to get a new PS3, **** I was hoping for my IP to be banned so that I can go to my friends house and Sync my trophies then get a new PS3.
January 10, 2010 at 12:07 am #54946ecurryMemberFirst of all You did think of connecting to your account on any of the other consoles didn’t you? Or disabling the system activation on any of them? Try setting up a new account with a different email address etc. to see if it is possible to sign in with another account on that hardware? These would be the first things i would do!
What did Sony say when you contacted them? The contact number should be in the back of the operators manual that came with the console.
The error code 8002a227 is irrelevant no matter what you are told, it doesn’t necessarily mean you are banned, it just means you were unable to connect to the PSN network. I have had this code a number of times, mainly when COD:MW2 was released!
The downloading of movies would not interfere with your PSN account, it may cause lag but they are not to know that its not a bad connection!
Account sharing is also not a cause, you are only allowed 5 accounts it is not possible to register any more accounts than that. Therefore Sony are allowing gamesharing with 5 consoles (pending change to 3 consoles although this will not affect those that have already set up there accounts on 5 consoles)
Abusive/Insulting/Threatening behaviour will however get you banned and depending how serious it is, this could be indefinite. Voice Chats can not be logged until a complaint is received from another account holder, Text chats are retrievable. A complaint would have had to have been made against you in order for this to happen.
Modding/ Chipping a console to cheat online is also a banning offense#
In any case that you are banned you are normally given a warning beforehand through your registered email account, you will not just get banned and not be told otherwise!
Buying a new PS3 will not allow you to add a banned account in any case so contacting Sony would be your only means of getting this ban overturned if you were in fact banned.Best of luck
January 10, 2010 at 12:39 pm #54966Domba_carMemberYes, my friend signed-in to his account on his friends PS3, so that means I can do the same thing but I never did. I tried to make a new account and no luck, same thing pops up.
I only contacted Sony via e-mail, they never replyed.
I have never modded or chipped a PS3.
If I was warned, then my account is not the problem, I check my registered e-mail every day, so now I have to check every registered e-mail on all accounts on my PS3. Will do.
Am I allowed to contact if I am only 13, or do I need to find someone older (parent).
Thank you for your time Gnilsia.
January 10, 2010 at 4:51 pm #54977shadeblackParticipante-mails are great. they will arrive to their destination within seconds.
however, that doesn't mean it will be read by the person the moment it arrives.
solution?
try phoning a sony ps3 representative for a more 'instant' solution.
