OK, anyone else really excited about this one?
Batman gets trapped inside Arkham Asylum and is stuck with all of his greatest foes including… The Joker! Voiced by Mark Hamil, it promises to be a fantastic game. It's meant to include CSI-like crime scene evidence games and features an RPG levelling up system. Should be fantastic!
January 19, 2009 at 9:43 pm #20483kingawolMembernever heard of it , but batman + bad guys +RPG-like-fallout-type game ….. could be soooooooooooo great. but i keep my hopes low when it's a movie licence….

It's not a movie licence. The story's being wrote by an actual comic book writer, so it's not going to tie in with The Dark Knight. But, the trophies should be nice 😀
January 20, 2009 at 5:07 pm #20506Hurley48Membersounds a great game even thought batman begins was based on a movie it is a great imagine this one wich is not movie based i bet it will be a GOTY candidate
January 20, 2009 at 6:18 pm #20507Doctor_RockMemberYeah, I actually liked Batman begins. I thought it was the best Video Game-Movie tie in. Although, the Iron Man and Hulk video games were quite good too.

wow…… iron man was actually shit. hulk was ok… there hasnt been a good movie tie-in since spiderman 2 on ps2. that was a great game.
batman begins was pretty good.
January 20, 2009 at 10:44 pm #20509Doctor_RockMemberYou think so? I thought Iron Man was really good, and Hulk was fantastic. Who doesn't love smashing the hell out of New York with The Hulk?
Although in both cases, the voice acting was a lot to be desired.
January 21, 2009 at 3:46 am #20520parnakasMemberyou thought iron man was good? what did you liike? i really hated it. the controls were awful. hulk was fun but got boring after 2 hours.
another awful one was open season. my god my cousin has it, for ps2, i beat 1 level and i was crying. it was the worst piece of shit i've ever played.
hannah montana + jonas brothers = MUST DIE NOW!!!………… sorry, i had to say it

I could not agree with you more parnakas. Actually every one of those games is just plain awful. lmao at the part that open season had you crying. I also agree that both of those must die now too, lol.
January 21, 2009 at 6:00 pm #20533J.BowlesMemberAll disney and most shitty platform games like that suck dry balls.
January 21, 2009 at 6:03 pm #20534Doctor_RockMemberI enjoyed upgrading his suit. I thought the idea of switching between flying, hovering and standing in the suit was well done too. Plus the graphics were awesome compared to some 'next-gen' games. I'm looking at you 'Lord Of The Rings: Conquest'!
Ah well, not everyone likes everything. For example, I don't like GTA.
January 23, 2009 at 8:30 pm #20620Doctor_RockMember'According to Danish print mag Game Reactor, Rocksteady’s rather spiffing looking Arkham Asylum will see Batman’s capabilities increase throughout the game: not too dissimilar to the mechanics of an RPG.
“As in a role-playing game, Batman will possess an experience system whereby it is possible to open up for new abilities and new gadgets,” says the piece [translated from Danish].
“Batman will need to use a large number of said gadgets as in many of the game’s difficult encounters as he won’t always be the strongest.”
Look out for our interview with Rocksteady which is hopefully coming later in the month.
Eidos will publish Batman: Arkham Asylum later in the year.'
There's the details about the RPG levelling up system. Should be cool, and will hopefully lead Batman into actually being a detective.
