Okay to sum this little thing up once and for all gamesharing is NOT stealing at all and if the developers of the game have a problem with it they can in ACTUAL FACT ask sony to make it a locked product. Case closed so lets stop all the crying and bitching now please.
July 12, 2009 at 10:59 am #30234ThickbrowMemberIt's called “gamesharing” because that's what you have chosen to define it.
Just like when people download music and movies off the Internet…they call it “sharing” or think because they didn't actually upload it, that they are not responsible or breaking any rules by downloading it.
The shirt analogy holds true because you are in fact downloading the game TWICE….same game-same shirt…sharing accounts-sharing receipts… You just see it as different because its a physical item, and hopefully because you realize that this is stealing.
I know lots of people download music and movies and share games on here, so im not doing myself any favours by pointing this out. Hell, I used to download music off the computer as well, but not since 2003. If you are getting offended or upset that I am pointing this out, then hopefully you realize that you are doing something that is wrong.
Think about it.
July 12, 2009 at 3:33 pm #30245dizzel22MemberThought about it , if were not stealing from you than whats it to you , just leave it alone and leave everyone else to do what they want , noone wants to know about your stuck up point of view

Ah, this guy. What age are we living in? No one buys C.Ds. No one buys movies. Everything is downloaded now. Most people dont care. If they can get it for free, then why not?
Do you ever let someone borrow a game? Isnt that the same thing as gamesharing? You paid for a game, and now they are getting to play it for free.
Do you ever let someone borrow a C.D? you paid for it, now they are listening to it for free.
Gamesharing and borrowing are the exact same thing. So is borrowing wrong?
There is a lot of shit that is wrong. Swearing, war, violence, stealing, etc. You dont do anything wrong? Get over it.

I'm just calling a spade a spade.
If you feel like you can justify stealing money from hard working people because “times are tough” or because there is no security in place to stop you… go ahead. It's not my conscious.
… and yes I buy all my music and movies. I support artists and I am willing to part with $12.00 to watch a theatre movie or $6 bucks to rent one. I even buy some of my favourite movies on blu-ray disk at around $20-25 a piece. Songs are also only $1.00 on Itunes or CD's are like $9.99 or 12.99 now.
Again, get a paper route if you can not afford these prices. Using the economy as an excuse is just pathetic.
If you couldn't afford new clothes, but knew of a store that you could steal from and not get caught, would you? Better yet, lets use the logic of a few people on this board. If your friend bought a shirt from the store and then gave you his receipt, would you go into the store, grab the identical shirt and walk out the door with it? Even if you were stopped at the door, you could show your receipt and the store would be none the wiser.
When there is little to no risk of getting caught, or the punishment is not severe, people tend to forget about things like HONESTY and INTEGRETY. If your moral compass is so skewed because of how you were raised or the people you associate with, then I'm sure what I say will not change your mind.
Again, I'm just calling a spade a spade.
To bring this conversation back on topic…and sum everything up, Battlefield 1943 is a great online game. If you like it, you should pay for it (regardless if it is shareable or not) and support the people who put hard work and time into making it.
Think about it.
I'm feeling a bit of De ja vu coming along here *coughs* Killer. At the end of the day, if you disagree with game sharing, why the hell post here? The topic wanted to know if a game was shareable or not. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but piracy and all that crap only affects a tiny bit of the game and music industries. Yes, you should support artists but they seem to be getting along fine with every second person torrenting their albums. People put work making them, and they get paid. It doesn't seem to affect them. If it affected them, they would have stopped game sharing by now. It's not exactly rocket science to lock a game, is it…
I don't know if it is a coincidence, but all Thickbrow has seemed to do is cause arguments. Yes, he is entitled to his opinion, but making it into an argument is taking it too far. Parnakas is right. I highly doubt you're an angel… As some people are probably saying in their heads: Get your head out of your ass…
P.S Thank you once again Kingofgames for sharing Battlefield to me. Glad I got the great game half price 🙂

No games are capable of being “Locked” I shared this, AND socom with people.
Your right.games like Warhawk and Socom are technicly shareable, but they are locked to accounts that purchased them.meaning that yes they can be downloaded to someone elses ps3 but can pnly be played by the account that purchased them. So that person you shared socom to cant play it if you are logged into your account.he can only play it if he is logged into your account and you are not.Hopefully that person isnt trying to get trophies on socom thining they are going onto his account lol.

Nope, that is incorrect. I am currently enjoying Warhawk that my friend has shared to me, and it works every time I want to play on it =)

a friend gameshared it with with me. Game is great fun. It displays your friends scores right on the main page and during the scoring screen at the end of every level. When you pass one friends score it will give you the target of your next friends score.I got on a hot streak cause i’ve palyed these games b4. I started on the 2nd lvl and didn’t have to use a continue after that. I didn’t think about the Master Blaster trophy when I started!!!! shucks. Oh well, I gotz top score among my friends at 264,000,000 or something around there. PS. You get 10,000,000 bonus score if you do not bounce off a wall during the entire level.July 26, 2009 at 5:52 am #32998Ratchet525MemberYeah i guess we can agree he is one cause he did call gamesharing stealing
