I bought borderlands at launch and I couldn't be any happier with it! I think its one of the Best RPGs made in quite a few years now. I just finished the main quest with 1 character. Anyone want to play this online shoot me a friend request (barkiemailman). Also…….someone PLEASE get the silver viral trophy for playing with a gearbox member. If I can get it I'll share it with anyone else who wants it.
how good is it in comparison to fallout 3?
is it really good?
October 24, 2009 at 5:49 am #47416barkiemailmanMemberHow good is it in comparison to fallout 3?? FOR ME PERSONALLY (<– Note the emphasis) I think this game is WAY better. This game plays like an awesome FPS standalone….but the rpg elements are perfectly embedded. Plus, when you beat the game, you get to start a new game with your saved character and all the enemies start at level 30 minimum (Like Phantasy star online, Diablo 2 and so on)
The multiplayer is perfect! Imagine you're playing your game of fallout 3 and I'm playing mine…I can invite you and you can jump in with me….when you do all the enemies levels go up and they drop better loot. We do quests together and some characters have really awesome support skills. Also, this game is ACTION PACKED. Sure, you find yourself walking from one part of the map to another sometimes for a quest, but usually you're gunning down everything in sight. The end sequence leading up to the final boss (and the boss itself) was amazing.
So, too many cool things to ramble on about. The grenade mods are cool as hell, using the same type of weapon causes your proficiencies to go up… some skills seem useless at 1st but when you start getting to a higher level, things like “Gain 1% of your shield back for a few seconds after a kill” work out perfectly.
Rent it at least!! This game is too cool to just never try
October 24, 2009 at 3:50 pm #47409parnakasMemberi got to play Borderlands, for a bit, and it was pretty good.
I mean, i didnt have a lot of time to play, so i didnt get to explore all the depth the game offers, but from what i have played, i think it is better than Fallout 3.
For me, i felt Fallout 3 was missing solid action with gun-fights. This game, fells more like a FPS, and its great.
I'm not too sure if i would get it, as i didnt have enough time with it…
October 24, 2009 at 3:57 pm #47410ShiperzzMemberWas wondering around in town and decided to buy it, going to check it out, after a bit of pool on home of course.

October 26, 2009 at 3:24 am #47616HypnosisMemberi agree with most of the people here. This game is amazing. I find it hard to stop playing it lol. I tried to do some co-op today but my mic was being difficult, but am anxious to try some more. I have a level 22 hunter. I am thinking bout starting another guy also. Maybe a soldier i think. So if any of you are down for some co-op shoot me an invite or a message. Maybe we can get a group of 4 and all start a new guy together. I think that would be the best way to get used to the co-op.When i tried it earlier we were at different parts of the storyline so it made it kinda confusing and it kept telling me i was ineligible for things. Either way, i definitly want to do some co-op and try and get some of that really good loot.
October 26, 2009 at 6:05 am #47622Ratchet525Memberthis game sounds so gooddddddd
October 26, 2009 at 2:36 pm #47638BigWoopMagazineMemberSo, I'm going to pick this up after work today. I'm hoping to do a lot of on-line co op, as I've been looking for a good game with a long continuous co op section for a while now, and I'm also hoping some of my friend from home will pick this up too. If any of you guys want to play hit me up.
October 27, 2009 at 3:44 am #47732HypnosisMemberwhen you guys pick this game up. hit me up with a message that you are ready to start a co-op game. I have a level 1 soldier just waiting to start a fresh game with some people =). Now that i have plat Uncharted 2, i can put more time into this game
