Hey I'm looking for a loot partner.
I am level 50, achieved platinum, but I'm still 100% into this game.
I'm doing playthrough 2, and I'm at the mission where you have to kill Taylor Kobb. (That's close to Old Haven) so if there's someone out there that likes to hunt chests for good|orange weapons (I'm fair, I will always share) and wanna proceed in the main story and hope for orange weapons|nice loot, send me a friend request!!
PSN: weavsxx
ps: I am most likely always on, lol
November 15, 2009 at 3:49 pm #50100barkiemailmanMemberHey, I'm pretty close to where you are (2nd playthrough and just beat old haven). I do want to keep playing, but I'm currently giving the game a rest until it gets patched again. I want to be able to use the mics in game. Anyways, add me if you'd like…but the next time I load this game up is gonna be on nov 24th to play the DLC. Hopefully the online gets fixed by then too.
November 17, 2009 at 3:19 am #50273W4RG34R3D_SN1P3RMemberSearching for Orange Weapons ? Those arent those Platinum Guns are they ? I heard theres like a 10 % chance of even finding one in your whole career of playing the game . Ouch .

Orange color indicates rarity, and yes, they are the most rare, but I'm not sure if thats what you mean by platinum weapons. I've found two and I'm lvl 43 siren. Basically to increase your chances you need to play with high level characters in the hardest areas of the game, a lot. People on the Borderlands forums have indicated that New Haven treasure chests are a great place to loot, and I have found that they do spit out a lot of good guns. However, farming these is boring… bleh. So I would just play the quests, you constantly find gun chests that way anyway.
@W4R and Dizzel – just keep doing quests! they level you the fastest, by the time you finish playthru #2 you'll be lvl 50 easy. Playthrough #3 is where it apparently gets interesting, my friend told me all the enemies are lvl 51 (PS: a great place for treasure looting)
November 18, 2009 at 10:52 pm #50384W4RG34R3D_SN1P3RMemberBigWoop – I hit level 50 on Friday and got my platinum lol :p Thanks for the help anyways though , i just did quests , got to the Eridian Promotory and camped there . I was getting 14 000 for the big mutha alien things .
November 19, 2009 at 3:06 pm #50431BigWoopMagazineMemberAh, I have some catching up to do. I often times get side tracked by new games coming out (AC2, MW2), and later have to go back to finish. Nice to know that those things give lotsa experience tho, they go down easy with some head shots. Thanks for the tip!
December 16, 2009 at 5:59 pm #52740BigWoopMagazineMemberwell its time to revive this thread. It was announced a few days ago (but I didnt read about it until now) that the new DLC for borderlands is coming, dec 29th for xbox, january 7th for ps3, unannounced for PC. It will feature several arenas, with small and large tournaments, the largest of which taking about 6 hours to complete (and it has to be done in one sitting). Also, a chest of some sort to store loot in will be included, and your characters will be able to earn 2 extra skill points. Read the full article here:
If what is said here is true, it should provide a real challenge for anyone even at level 50. As a result I am thinking about just doing some straight loot running with my Siren lvl 50. I believe I'm at the point in the story where you need to meet with Taylor Kobb (oddly, exactly where Weaver was a month ago when he wanted to loot run). I also have level 22 beserker and level 25 hunter at the moment, if anyone just wants to play in general. I'm a huge fan of this game, I dunno if you guys are, so I'm definitely getting the new DLC, let me know if you're considering it too.
December 16, 2009 at 9:14 pm #52755W4RG34R3D_SN1P3RMemberI was actually wondering if anyone would want to hit up the most recent DLC featuring the zombies . I have it downloaded but havent actually played it yet . Anyone ?
January 2, 2010 at 12:50 am #54328XeroTheGreatMemberWell i finally completed the game. I thought the game was excellent. Really good gameplay, loved the RPG side and i'd totally play it again. The one thing that completely pi**ed me off though was the ending…

yeah this a great game. beaten it in 4 days thanks to my friend in PSN. Your right about the ending though as it left me kinda frustrated seeing the story was great from beginning.
anyways,If anyone are planning to get the new arenas DLC Mad Moxxi's Underdome Riot, just message me.
January 3, 2010 at 8:15 pm #54466VitaNamLetumMemberThe Arena DLC for this game is really going to define it. The actual game itself is quite short with a low level cap. They should make a super uber tough challenge that requires 4 people that know what there doing. That would really be cool.
February 4, 2010 at 9:20 pm #56931BigWoopMagazineMemberso just thought i'd shout this out to whoever might be interested….
due to my YLOD recently I've spent a lot of time getting my siren back to level 50 in between playing some other games… and so have finally started playing the arena that I purchased a month ago. Last night two friends and I played through the Hell-Burbia large arena. Holy crap. Its not very difficult to play, but is a serious endurance challenge. It took a solid 5 hours to get through (this is including some bathroom breaks). This weekend we plan on doing another, and I was wondering if there is another level 50 out there who would like to join. Its highly preferrable that you have a mic, and if possible a mod that boosts some team stats, but these things aren't necessary. If so, hit me up on PSN, and be prepared to sink a very large chunk of time into this.
The current team is me as a level 50 Mercenary Siren, and two Hunters both with team healing class mods on. I would go with the defender mod to boost some shields, but my siren really sucks it when shes set up that way.
February 5, 2010 at 5:26 pm #56962BigWoopMagazineMemberSo we completed the Angelic Ruins last night. All thats left is The Gully. Our third player backed out, he says he already completed it and will never play it again. King of Games expressed interest in joining in for an arena, is anyone else interested in doing The Gully tonight or tomorrow?
February 5, 2010 at 6:30 pm #56965Doc-BMemberI just bought Dante's and it's likely i'll be playing that till completion of the story mode at least… I've still all the larger challanges to do, just the timing's wrong, sorry man…
Larger challanges = G.R.I.N.D
February 5, 2010 at 7:10 pm #56967BigWoopMagazineMemberyea, it definitely is a grind. its much much easier with more people though, since you can revive eachother and someone can snipe from the penalty box. I'm just trying to get it done and be done… I wish they had just made them shorter with different levels, level of difficulties, and different enemies. I like the gameplay style, its just too damn long.
