Buzz: Quiz TV Trophy Glitch

Do not use this as an opportunity to flame but I think I accidentally found a cheat to easily obtain Buzz trophies. I'm not sure if this was a bogus glitch in my particular game or if it will work for everyone but I'll detail the scenario…

I struggled a lot when trying to get the “Lightning Reactions” trophy as I realized this cannot be obtained from a MyBuzz quiz and you would need to have super spidey senses or a truckload of luck to be able to get it. I remembered that prior to the 1.10 patch when you hit the PS button, the menu was transparent and you could see the buzz Q & As behind it.

With this in mind, I deleted my buzz game data (NOT game save), fired up the game and denied the 1.10 patch installation. I played through one full single player game using the PS button pause technique to get lightning fast answers. Needless to say, this did not warrant me any trophies. Defeated, I quit the game and then booted it back up and simply reinstalled the 1.10 patch. After hitting the buzzer button to agree to the terms and conditions that appear after the install I found myself at the main menu. It was then that I heard *ping!* *ping!* *ping!* … sure enough trophies were appearing left right and center for things that I had not even completed. I went from my legit 18% to 40 something % in less than half an hour. Completely perplexed I tested the whole process over again and nothing happened. I then tried it once more and went from the 40ish% to 75%.

The trophies it gave me were: Sofa Surfer Silver/Gold; Socialite Silver/Gold; MyBuzz Enthusiast Silver/Gold; Lonesome and Loving it Bronze/Silver/Gold; Sofa Subjugator Bronze/Silver/Gold.

The rest of the trophies I had either already obtained prior to this glitch or got them myself after this glitch. None of the secret trophies popped up as a result of this. Needless to say I am now only one trophy away from a platinum for this game. While I'm disappointed because I genuinely earned very little for myself, it did take the grind factor out of the sofa vs sofa wins and I can now enjoy the game without worrying about trophies.

I'm just wondering if anyone else has encountered this? Also, I'm not BSing… for proof just take a look at my Buzz trophy list and you will see the times the above trophies were given to me are all relatively the same.

did you get any trophies that didn't meet the requirements but still popped up? either you did some of the requirements then reinstalled the trophy patch it all popped up together or it's a really huge glitch..either way,that's an easy platinum for you

The game modes I played the most were MyBuzz Quizzes and Multiplayer with friends and I'm positive I didn't even come close to 50 matches. As for sofa vs sofa I maybe played 7 matches total and won 4 of those, tops? Single player… maybe 4 or 5 matches (including the 3 single player matches used to test out the glitch). So it's got to be a huge glitch. I wonder if its a universal glitch though, because then that means a less lengthy platinum for everyone!

Sure I can try and walk you through it just based on what I did. Hopefully it will work.

1. Delete Buzz GAME data.

2. Start Buzz but do NOT install update 1.10. (Press the O button)

3. Play one full single player game. When the game is over go back to the main menu to be sure the last game is saved/registered.

4. Quit Buzz via the PS button

5. Restart Buzz

6. Install the 1.10 update. (Press the X button)

7. Accept the T & C by hitting the Buzz button.

8. At this point you should be online at the Buzz menu

9. *ping!* *ping!* *ping!*?

10. Rinse and repeat

That's honestly all I did that I can think of. You may have to try it multiple times as when I tried it the 2nd time nothing happened but the 3rd time it worked again. Just find something else to do while the patch installs. Umm.. and I don't know if this would make a difference but I have the regular Buzz: Quiz TV game with 4 buzzers, not the special edition.

Wow, if this is true for all games and not just your copy, I'm definitely trying this when I get home today from work. I've been playing a lot of the types of games just to win trophies and get it over with and it's been taking me forever. I love playing this game with family and friends but it does get boring quickly when you're playing by yourself. If I can blow through all those single player ones quickly, I'll be one happy camper. Thanks for the tip and if you want, add me and we can play together some time:

No dice.

I just screwed around with this game for almost two hours. I followed the steps three times over again and nothing happened. I guess you were just a lucky fellow with a special game. Oh, well. I'm done with BUZZ. No way I'm playing all the way up again to try to reach the “Play 50 times” trophies.

I'm sorry to hear that, I wish it would have worked. I'm trying to think if maybe I misdirected you somehow… but I'm pretty sure the above instructions are exactly what I did.

Yeah, I followed the directions to a “T” and no luck… unless…

– For step (3), what kind of single player game did you play? Also, after the game, did you watch the entire credits before going back to the main menu?

– For step (4), to quit the game, did you tap the PS symbol and quit off the XMB or did you hold the button and quit the game off of the straight black page?

– Before step (7), did you watch the opening video of the game before accepting the terms and conditions?

If I can figure how you played every exact detail, maybe it'll work. I'd really love to complete this game using your method, especially considering how since I erased my Game data, I'd have to play all the way through again to get back to where I was before. Thanks for the help and thanks for the add on the PSN, l8scent!

I played a full game under the Music category (that's the category I'm fairly familiar with as this all started with me wanting to get the lightning reactions trophy). I waited to see the end “video” .. you know.. where Buzz announces the winner and then your character does something outrageous. The camera pans out and then the credits start to roll. I skipped the credits.

I held the PS button to get the black screen and quit the game from there. I did this only after completely backing out to the main menu of the Buzz game though (hitting O until you can't go back anymore menus).

– Before step (7), did you watch the opening video of the game before accepting the terms and conditions?

When the update was reinstalling it took forever so I went off and did something else. When I came back I was at the Terms and Conditions screen so I guess I “watched” the opening video.

Deleting your GAME data I don't think will affect your game progress. Or did you delete you SAVE data as well?
