Yesterday I tried completing Burn 'Em Out on Veteran mode on CoD5… I then received a message in the top right corner saying “You have won no trophy”. I also had put in a new hard drive that day so it got me panicking.
I looked online and it's said that I might have to re-boot the PS3 but I have to copy every saved game, which I did.
Then I tried Burn 'Em Out again. Still says “You did not win a trophy”. I thought that it might just be the game so I tried out LBP. It came up with a pop up saying that the saved data had been copied (which is right) and then it said for me to deleted ALL my saved data if I want to get any new trophies otherwise I can't.
I've looked online and it says that after putting in a new hard drive your trophies should stay intact because it's all linked to the PSN. I still have all the old ones but I can't get any new ones. I don't want to delete everything and start from scratch with about 13 games.
Can anyone help?
December 12, 2008 at 5:38 pm #19862gamerbenMemberis there a way you can sync you trophy on your psn so they appear on your harddrive?
December 12, 2008 at 7:04 pm #19866bluemonkeypetMemberBefore u change hard drive u go onto trophies press triangle and select sync with server this should work, it worked when i changed my hard drive.
It may not work after changin itif not put old hard drive in again and check
December 12, 2008 at 10:22 pm #19868DSpike777MemberThing is when I copied it, it said that another user had copied it hence why it won't let me get any more trophies. As i've taken it all off my other hard drive and therefore I will probably have the same problem.
thanks
December 12, 2008 at 11:39 pm #19869edge4eva32MemberWow that sucks man. I changed my hdd awhile back. I've had no problems in obtaining trophies since changing. Did the new drive format properly? That could be the reason, or the old saved data is now corrupted.
December 13, 2008 at 12:50 am #19874parnakasMemberi changed my hdd and nothing happened… so maybe its the hard drive?
because dont trophies save on your online account? my cousin gos on my account with his ps3 and got me a few warhawk trophies once.. it just took like 20 min to sync it on my ps3… so it could be a problem with your account.
this is probably the weirdest thing i've heard this week…
December 13, 2008 at 4:16 am #19878HypnosisMemberHmm that is wierd. When i swappedout my hdd. I didnt even back up anything. I had all my game saves on a flash drive already which was the only thing I need to save that couldnt be put back on or redownloaded. When I put the new drive in,format took like 1 min went to tropy tab hit triangle and sync. And they were all there.
Did you format the new hdd after install?
Is the Hdd new or used?
Possible cousin saved data under your psn which currupted your saves on your system?
December 13, 2008 at 8:44 am #19880PS3 TrophiesKeymasterAre you logged in with the same PSN id as when you copied the save games? And the PSN id which is linked to the save games?
December 13, 2008 at 10:16 am #19881jamesb5374MemberThis is strange, the trophies are nothing to do with your hard drive, they are on your psn account. I put my 320gb hard drive in and had no problems.
Although, it was a nightmare to change my mates one as sony have changed the mounting of the hard drive, and the procedure for changing!

buy a new hard drive
just ask for a 2.5' SATA hard drive and you should be fine
i have the original 20gb with a 250gb hard drive and it rocks
December 19, 2008 at 11:09 pm #19956Oz-MetalheadMemberawesome thanks! All that extra space will be great to have.
December 20, 2008 at 2:11 am #19958shadeblackParticipanti still need to buy a bigger hard drive for my ps3 as well… i've still got 20gb left from my original 60gb version… so it's not like im running out anytime soon. But the sooner i do it, the better i guess.
December 20, 2008 at 9:17 am #19959pobert06Memberi have a question on how to backup the files in the ps3:
1.) how do you make your external hard disk appear on your ps3? as i've connected mine and it didn't appear..i've read somewhere that you need to make it FAT32..are there any external hard disk available to buy that is already at FAT32 format?
2.) does the ps3 backup utility back-up up all your files in the ps3? all files meaning the mp3s,wallpapers/photos,downloaded games, themes, users (i have 5)?
December 20, 2008 at 11:19 am #19960jamesb5374MemberTo answer your second question, yes the backup utility does backup everything. You can just backup things like saved games, rather than doing everything. You can re-download anything you had got from the store.
In answer to your first question, I just plugged in my external HDD and it worked. Do you have a PC you can format it with?
