March 1, 2010 at 6:30 am #58562MiiiitchMemberMarch 1, 2010 at 6:46 am #58564Ratchet525MemberLOL MITCH!!
I have to say I lauged but its kinda harsh. I mean what if it isn't Sonys fault? What if its a hacker? WHAT IF ITS ONE OF US?! Its definitly not me, no *starts sweating badly* Nope not me..
March 1, 2010 at 6:50 am #58565MiiiitchMemberIt's not a hacker at all man, the problem is with the console's and not the PSN at all, it's because they were programed to recognise today as 29th of Feburary but because it ain't a leap year the system has reverted back in time so come tomorrow it'll all be back to normal, unless sony release a patch but thats unlikely because we would not be able to connect to download it.
March 1, 2010 at 7:05 am #58567Ratchet525MemberBut if it was programed to recongnise today is the 29th, then how come the slim doesnt have these problems…Couldnt have Sony released a patch to fix that program “error” so that it would be in league with the slim?????
March 1, 2010 at 7:10 am #58569gow2rulesMemberHere's what's going on right now: something with the PS3's internal clock has borked in some pre-slim models. This is not a PSN issue; it has to do with your PS3's clock. This clock is NOT related to the OS clock. It seems to be a leap year bug. Setting your clock ahead will do nothing. All PS3s around the world were affected at the exact same time
Does this affect me?
-If you have a Slim PS3, you're good to go. Continue playing it as normal.
-If you have a “fat” PS3, you may be affected. Some fat PS3s have worked ok, but it seems a good majority have been bugged. What does this bug mean?
-If affected, your date and time has been set to a random past date. This prevents you from signing into PSN, playing any PSN games, or using any DLC. Your trophies will also not display correctly or be able to sync.
How do I fix it?
-You can't. Even if you don't sign into PSN, it won't help. This is a hardware issue.
So, what do I do?
-Wait 24 hours. Other products that have had similar bugs have corrected themselves after the “bugged” day. On Monday around 6pm central time, all PS3s will automatically correct themselves…maybe.
-If that doesn't work, we'll need a firmware update from Sony, which should be a pretty important priority for them right now.
Did I lose my data/themes/etc?
Your save data/games/dlc/themes are fine. They'll be fixed when the PS3 is fixed. Trophies are uncertain right now, but they'll be fine if you've synced them before the PS3 was bugged. Unsynced trophies are an unknown right now.
If I have a bugged PS3, can I still use it?
It's probably not a good idea, as I have no idea what will happen to the trophies you earn during the bugged time. Movies/media will work fine.”
latest info on thisi'm just really pissed off i aimed to finish heavy rain today and get ready for plat night but can't as trophies will disappear and games won't start gah
i haven't played my ps3 for 3days now

basically everywhere the internet is full of news over this
sony's twitter these there lastest tweets
psn status update:We're narrowing down the issue and continue to work to restore service to all
psn status update:readers/followers are confirming that “slim” units (120/250gb models)
are connecting normally
hopefully i'll wake up 2moorow and the ps3 will have fixed itself
March 1, 2010 at 8:36 am #58577gow2rulesMembersorry for double posts but looks like good news
http://www.examiner.com/examiner/x-12218-Video-Game-Examiner~y2010m3d1-PSN-Up-and-working-properly
sony technical support say the issue would be fixed by morning and that there is no need to fear about game's trophies of save data
but i'm guessing any trophies gained during this won't count as no one could sync their trophies

March 1, 2010 at 12:55 pm #58585pobert06MemberI hope this gets fixed ASAP.I still haven't turned on my PS3 since this morning just to make sure that I lose nothing.I think this is another scheme of Sony to force us to buy a Slim.
I mean c'mon,YLOD appearing left and right then this? I think they better explain themselves after this is over or they will lose a lot of consumers.
March 1, 2010 at 1:11 pm #58586MiiiitchMemberIt's just a minor bug but because they didn't see it coming it's going to require a major fix, really nothing to get angry about as technology is not perfect. I've turned my PS3 on today and everything is fine I just can't sign in.

You can still download patches. I started Wipeout HD and it downloaded update data, but now it tells me that I don't have the full game. I have both HD and Fury!!
Also, I cannot even load up Pro Evo 2010 as it says that trophy registration failed.
March 1, 2010 at 2:13 pm #58589Antony19MemberRead thishttp://www.ps3trophies.org/news/news-291-PSN-Is-Down—Crashing-Games–Corrupting-Trophy-Data.html
So dont play any games that have any trophies
