Hey guys, thought I'd float a few ideas past you. While gaming and charity goes together as well as Heather Mills and two real legs, I thought it might be a good idea if we could all raise a bit of money for charity. Not necessarily for the Haiti fund, but for any charity your interested in!
I think it's a good opportunity to be creative, have a bit of a laugh and raise money as well, so I'll tell you what I've been working on for the last month. For the opening of Bioshock 2 I plan to dress up as a Big Daddy. This has been going better than expected and I've got most of the materials for it (I'll post photos up for you to see, if it's a success). But I thought I'd be cool to get some charity ideas around the site and actually do them. Not only is it for a good cause, but it shows developers that their games are fantastic and that lots of people are passionate about it. Yes I may be a bit of a geek, but I'd rather be happy and a geek than sad and cool!
Most of my ideas relate to games coming out, so if you have any better ideas, please share! Hopefully my Assassins Creed 3 idea will be good!!

All joking aside it sounds like a good idea. Make sure you post pictures of your Big Daddy outfit. For know though I think I'll just stick with the good 'ole Trocaire box.

January 25, 2010 at 1:53 am #56223Doctor_RockMemberWell, each year Sarcastic Gamer do a 24 hour gaming marathon to help various hospitals and centres to help sick kids try and kick Cancer's ass. I'll be doing that this year, so I guess we could do that as well?

LOL!! i actually laughed out loud when i read that!
Sounds awesome.. Unfortunately, I don't really know any events in Canada, and i don't think the people here will take kindly to me dressing up..
If anyone knows any ways for me to donate or help raise money, let me know, as im always down for charity work!
January 25, 2010 at 3:43 pm #56240NinjaMidgetMemberThat sarcastic gamer thing sounds good Doctor_Rock. I'll have to check it out!

January 25, 2010 at 8:24 pm #56245Domba_carMemberSo what I have to do is dress up as Big Daddy? I didn't play BioShock but I played the demo and read some reviews and I guess it's that robotish guy with a screw hand? I'm not sure I will be able to dress like him (but I can assassinate someone if that helps lol). I hope everyone Good Luck! NinjaMidget – Great idea, keep it up.

Don't be nervous.. just remember. You dressing up means you have got more balls than any other person not dressed up.
January 27, 2010 at 12:53 am #56300Ratchet525MemberGood luck Ninja and what kinda material you using for the costume?
January 27, 2010 at 4:47 pm #56324NinjaMidgetMemberThanks Parnakas!
The torso is the hardest bit to make because it has to be sort of bulky and the head has to connect to it. So I bought crap loads of wire coat hangers and made a sort of base and have covered it with layers upon layers of (shock, horror) cardboard.
I then stole a traffic cone to make the drill, which still has to be completed but I'm pretty confident that it'll look ok!
January 27, 2010 at 9:54 pm #56348parnakasMemberWhen you finish it.. we better see some photos.. i want a good laugh.
