DiRT 2 Trophy Guide
by Collbreast_23
This has got to be one of the most enjoyable driving games ive played in a very long time. With very good graphics, pretty realistic handling, a nice range of vehicles, very smooth gameplay and an excellent career mode which can last a long time unless you really want to complete it quickly. Another thing i enjoy about the game is how it gives you the option to customise cars by changing their liveries, horns, dashboard toys and even windshield toys. The horns range from very old classic horns to ice cream truck and fire engine horns, dashboard toys include a toy T-Rex, a hula girl etc.. and the windshield toys include air freshener, fluffy dice and even shoes! I feel it adds quite a bit of humour to it. Even the online has proved to be very entertaining with little to no lag from the games ive played, and with the option to play solo or in a team of 4v4, it only makes me feel stronger that this game defintely deserves the title of best racer this year!
Number Of Trophies: 36 8 3 1
Trophy List:
Perfect finish!
You've unlocked every other trophy – Congratulations!
Pretty self explanitory, acquire all other 47 trophies and this will be yours.
Dedication
Win every event in the DiRT Tour.In all there are 100 events to complete. Some of these have 1, 2 or 3 races,
if this is the case then that still counts as 1 event. This can be time consuming but
as long as you enjoy the game then it's no problem.
For Colin
You've won the Colin McRae Challenge Event.
After completing the final X Games event in America, you will return to the DiRT Tour map and there will be a new event that appears, this is the Colin McRae Challenge Event. It consists of 3 rally races, win these and you are rewarded with a new car.
(1995 Subaru Impreza WRX STi)
X Games Champ!
Win all the X Games events. There are 3 seperate X Games events to complete, these are in Europe, Asia & America.
They all consist of 3 races each with only the last race deciding the victor of the tournament. After winning all 3 and achieving this trophy, you are also gifted 2 new cars.
(Ford Escort MKII and MG Metro 6R4)
All-StarWin an All-Star division event.
In career mode, the races are split into 3 categories, Rookie, Pro & All-Star.
You can progress on to each one by reaching a certain level of rep. Once an event of this difficulty has been unlocked, you need to buy the upgrade for you car to participate. It will be either 1, 2 or 3 races long. Win your first race at this level and you will get the trophy.
As Good As It Gets
Reach Level 30 in the DiRT Tour.
This will come as you progress on your way to achieving the 'Dedication' trophy. It doesn't take too long to reach this level, around 750,000 XP is required. It may sound like alot but when you start racing and earning XP you'll see it isn't as bad as it sounds. Also the higher the category you are racing in, the more XP you are rewarded for winning.
Best Friends Forever!
Become true friends with every superstar.
In the game there are 7 main drivers that you must become true friends with. This
is achieved by ranking up and beating them in throwdowns. Simple enough,
keep playing until all 7 like you.
Big Bucks!
Earn those big bucks.
This trophy was confusing at first but all you must do to achieve this is have over $666,666 in your
balance at any time. Once this target has been surpassed you will get your trophy and can spend your money on cars & upgrades.
Notorious
Reach Online Fame Level 30.
To reach this level you must earn around 70,500 FP (Fame Points).
If playing solo you get more for coming in 1st place than you would in
team racing, however if your team wins you will get a team bonus added
to your total. The bonus amount depends on how many people out of 8 are playing, the more that participate then the more FP you will be awarded. You can also earn FP by completing in game missions such as, driving so many miles, jumping a certain distance, rolling your car, spinning your car, overtaking, playing the game for so many minutes, drifting, driving on 2 wheels and destroying so many environmental objects. Bonus FP for these can be, 100, 250, 500, 1000, 2500.
The Full Set
Drive every vehicle in the game.
In total there are 35 cars in total to drive in the game. You do not need to win a race with the car if you just want to do this quickly, simply start a free race, drive around 0.1 mile press start and quit the race. When you look at your stats after you will see that that car will now have been driven. There are 10 secret cars to be unlocked, all of which are written in italics and bold underneath each trophy as i didnt see the need to write them here too. Sorry if this confuses a few people.
World Tour Winner
Win all the World Tour events.
After progressing so far through campaign mode, 5 events will appear at the right hand side of the map. These are the 5 World Tour events and can only be unlocked by completing 1 of 3 qualifying events of each style that are shown to you in the game. Once unlocked you can start these. Each event consists of 5 races all the same style of race depending on which you picked. 4 of these events give you a bonus car and all are a good way to earn XP and some quick money.
RALLY World Tour: No Reward
RALLY CROSS World Tour: Ford RS200 Evolution
LANDRUSH World Tour: Toyota Stadium Truck
RAID World Tour: Mitsubishi Pajero Dakar 1993
TRAILBLAZER World Tour: Dallenbach Special
You're The Best, Around!
Win a race at every track in the game (in any game mode).
There are 9 different locations to play at in the game with each different style of race
providing a different track(s) to race on. This should be one of the last few trophies you achive. In total the are 42 tracks to win on. You can keep track of how many you have done on your stats page in game. Don't worry about finding out which you need to win on as you will just get this on your way to achieving the 'Dedication' trophy.
Aren't You Popular!
Become true friends with 4 superstars.
See 'Best Friends Forever!' trophy for details, only for this you need 4 out of the 7 drivers to be true friends with you.
Block Party
Beat Ken Block in a Throwdown. As you progress through your career, rival drivers will challenge you to throwdowns. Once Ken Block challenges you, find the event, win it and this trophy will be yours. Don't worry if you lose as it stays there and you get the oppurtunity to try again later or you could just press start and retry if you want it completed first time.
Dialled In
Win a race using a custom vehicle setup. At the start of each race offline (and some online) you get the option to 'tinker' with your car. Set it up how you like, race and hopefully win, once you pass the line you will be awarded with the trophy.
Dominated!
Win a domination event, getting the maximum available points.
In each domination event, the race course is split into 4 sectors. The aim of these races is to set the fastest time in each part, the position your time is in for that sector determines how many points you will recieve at the end of the race. All you must do to achieve this is be the quickest through all 4 sectors in a domination event. The maximim points you can recieve is 50, 10 points for being 1st in each sector and 10 points for finishing 1st place.
(This is determined by point total, not who crosses the line 1st)
Famous
Reach Online Fame Level 15.
See 'Notorious' Trophy for details. Only you are aiming for level 15, not level 30.
Five Of Your Best
Win 5 Pro Tour races online.
The online is split into 2 selections for racing, 'Pro Tour' or 'Jam Session'. Pro Tours are basically ranked events where you earn FP and Jam Sessions are so you and friends can have fun and race where and how you want but without earning any FP. Just win 5 races in Pro Tour.
Friends For Life
Become true friends with a superstar.
See 'Best Friends Forever!' trophy for details, only for this you need 1 out of the 7 drivers to be true friends with you.
Gate Crashed!
Hit every gate in a Gatecrasher event. The aim of these events is to get around the track having the most time spare at the end. When you start you have a clock that will count down as you drive, the way to keep this up is by smashing through the set up gates, they each add 2 more valuable seconds. They are a little small for my liking but are very easy to see (Bright yellow with red writing). The amount of gates in each level depends on the course and as long as you drive fairly carefully this trophy won't give you too much trouble.
Getting A Reputation
Reach Level 15 in the DiRT Tour.
See 'As Good As It Gets' Trophy for details, you are only aiming for level 15 here instead.
Gnarly!
Finish with Flair! Cross the finish line with no more than two wheels touching the ground. This trophy is fairly easy to get, either try crashing into a wall or cliff if it's a rally event as you cross the line, or if that isn't working try racing in BAJA in california. Do a landrush event at 'Ensenada' and this should naturally happen as you cross the line.
Gut It Out!
Win a DiRT Tour event without winning a race. This really confused me at first but this can only be done in an event where there
are 2 or 3 races. The easiest way i found to do this was to do it in a team event. You
aren't allowed to win a race but your team-mate is. Simply help them get to the front
by hitting the opposition to spin them, and stay behind your team-mate in second place and tailgate those behind you. meaning you get the top 2 positions for points but you havent won a race, do this for both or all 3 races and you will win and get this trophy.
Head Over Wheels
Roll your vehicle and still win the race.Fairly simple, find a race you're good at and make sure its easy to roll your car. Do this and go on to win the same event, this will appear as you return to your trailer. I found it easier to do on a rally event.
I Ain't Afraid Of No Ghost!
Choose a ghost, download and beat it!To get this trophy you must go to the DiRT Tour map, pick a place to race and instead of picking an event go down to the bottom, you should see it says, 'Free Race' or 'Time Trail'. Pick Time Trial, choose the course and car type you wish to use, it then gives you 3 empty slots. Simply fill these with ghosts from 3 people farily low down so you know you can easily beat them and once you finish a lap in a quicker time than ANY of those 3 ghosts you will earn the trophy.
Note: Not all ghosts will download, i don't know why but keep trying, if one doesn't work, pick someone else's until it does.
I like a Challenge
Win 12 Throwdowns.
Keep racing and continuing through your career, as you do, more and more throwdowns will appear. As soon as you have completed your 12th this trophy will be yours.
In His Footsteps
Win 25 Rally races in the DiRT Tour. You will get this as you try to finish 'Dedication' trophy, just keep playing and
this will eventually appear.
Jet Setter
Compete in a race in every location. There are 9 locations in all, these are:
LA, UTAH, BAJA, MOROCCO, LONDON, CROATIA, MALAYSIA JAPAN & CHINA.
Just finish a race of any type in each of these locations, winning is not required.
Just Drive!
You drove 100 miles (161 kilometres) without unlocking any other trophy. To get this you must drive for 100 miles without getting ANY trophy. If you do then this will reset your milage back down to 0. You must keep track of how many you have done in your head or write it down. This is easiest and best to get when going for 'Notorious' or trying to finish 'Dedication' so you dont accidentally get any trophy your not trying for.
Keep It Clean!
Win a DiRT Tour race without crashing.Win a race without touching ANY walls or environmental objects, and also without touching ANY oppositions car's, this includes them hitting you or you hitting them.
Mirra Image
Beat Dave Mirra in a Throwdown.
See 'Block Party' Trophy for help, but you are trying to beat Dave Mirra this time.
Mix It Up!
Play in every discipline online (Pro Tour or Jam Session). In total there are 8 different race disciplines, these are:
Rally, Rally Cross, Trailblazer, Landrush, Raid, Last Man Standing, Domination & Gatecrasher. I was stuck for a while for this trophy, 7 of the 8 events are available in Pro Tour, you must go into a Jam Session to do a Gatecrasher event, once you have finished a race in each discipline this trophy will unlock.
Nailed an Event
Win an event.
Pretty simple, win any race in DiRT Tour.
On The Bubble
Be 2nd to last at each elimination point but go on to win a Last Man Standing race.
In this discipline of racing, the player in last place each time the clock reaches 0 is
eliminated, it starts off with 8 people and will end when 1 driver remains. Make sure
you are in 2nd to last place everytime someone is eliminated until it is you and 1 other
driver left, once this is the case, win the race. This can be hard as while you are trying to stay second to last the drivers at the front usually pull out and take a big lead.
Piece Of Cake
Win a Throwdown.
Soon after starting your career a driver will challenge you to a throwdown, simply beat this to earn this trophy. Usually this is Dave Mirra, earning you the 'Mirra Image' Trophy at the same time.
Pro
Win a Pro division event.See 'All-Star' Trophy for details, this will unlock after your first Pro event.
Rookie Coming Through!
Race in your first DiRT Tour race. This will be awarded after completing your first DiRT Tour race, simple enough.
Rush Hour
Win a Pro Tour race online against 7 competitors. There are 2 ways to do this, either by playing solo and beating all other 7 drivers
or trying to do this in a team race. To get this in a team race you must have 4 people on each team and come first place out of everyone, it doesn't matter if your team wins or loses.
Showboating
Bask in your success at X Games America.
This will automatically be given to you after completing the X Games in America.
After winning it, you will see all the cars lined up and your car will do some donuts,
soon after this trophy will appear, you don't even have to do anything for it.
Terminated!
Take terminal damage while travelling at over 140mph (225km/h).Simple enough, if playing online make sure that damage setting is set to 'full' or do this offline. Simply have a crash at over 140 mph that will total your car and cause you to lose the race (unless racing offline, love that flashback button). The easiest way to do this is on a trailblazer event in UTAH at All-Star level, there is a really long straight with rocks everywhere, simply get over 140 mph and crash into one!
That All You Got?
Win a Timed Throwdown.
Some of the throwdowns that appear will look like the picture above, this means they are timed throwdowns. To win one of these you must race 3 laps round a track in an attempt to beat the persons lap time, if this is done in 1 lap then it only takes 1 lap instead of 3. The times set are usually very slow meaning these are extemely easy to do.
Tourney
Take part in four tournaments. Each week a new tournament will be available to compete in, simply participate
in 4 of them to unlock this trophy. To see how long is left or how to take part in the
current tournament go outside the trailer to 'NEWS' section, it will show you there.
Two Cups One Girl
Win two team events with the same female team-mate.To do this simply win 2 team events with the same female partner. It is possible to do the same event twice and get it.
Whose Backyard?
Beat Travis Pastrana in a Throwdown.See 'Block Party' Trophy for help, but you are trying to beat Travis Pastrana this time.
With Great Honor
Achieve a ‘Cautious' impact rating in Multiplayer races (Pro Tour or Jam Session). To do this you must take part in races that are 'full-contact' meaning you can touch opponents car's. You must take part in and finish around 7 or 8 clean races in a row. Basically without touching ANY cars, walls or environmental objects. This will unlock at the end of the race.
X Games America Champ
Win X Games America. This event consists of 3 races, only the final race matters and as long as
you win then you will get the trophy. As a special reward you are also given a new car.
(Subaru Impreza WRX STi with X-Games Livery)
X Games Asia Champ
Win X Games Asia.
This event consists of 3 races, only the final race matters and as long as
you win then you will get the trophy. As a special reward you are also given a new car.
(Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution with X-Games Livery)
X Games Europe Champ
Win Games Europe.
This event consists of 3 races, only the final race matters and as long as
you win then you will get the trophy. As a special reward you are also given a new car.
(Colin McRae R4 with X-Games Livery)
That was my first guide, so any comments will be taken on board for next time! Thanks for reading and i hope this helps you towards getting your platinum, happy driving!

September 21, 2009 at 3:42 am #43475Collbreast_23Memberthanks shade i tried my best, oh would you know why when i copied it into here that the pictures wouldnt appear? i then tried to copy them into here but that failed too i wanted the picture of the actual trophy but i had to settle for the ones i chose there instead
September 21, 2009 at 3:52 am #43477shadeblackParticipantdepends what you mean by copy… for an image to be available online, it needs to be hosted somewhere.
so you can't just copy and paste an image over like you can in a desktop environment.
I see that these ones you see now are coming directly from this site
"http://www.ps3trophies.org/forum/images/smilies/bronze.gif"
September 21, 2009 at 3:58 am #43478Collbreast_23Memberthat was the only place i could find that picture and the silver and gold 1's too.. bit strange, i expected them to be everywhere lol and tbh when it comes to online stuff like this, unless its real simple, then im useless at it. i dont really know much about pc's and all the stuff you 'can' talk about my mum probably would, she does the same thing you do with pc's, she built ours..

September 21, 2009 at 4:55 pm #43500BigWoopMagazineMembercollbreast – What you need to do is find a free ftp site. FTPs allow you to upload any kind of file to the internet and be used and accessed as you select. Go there, upload your images. Then anywhere in the guide you enter HTML code (its the HTML button when you're posting) and type in . yaaaay a basic programming lesson! For example, I can post your avatar by typing while in HTML mode:
nifty, huh? oh, BTW, nice guide.
September 21, 2009 at 5:58 pm #43505MiiiitchMemberAwesome guide Coll, great layout and easy to understand.
