Ok AleksW, if an animal died of natural causes, would you eat it's meat? Yes, it is cruel killing animals, but at the end of the day, it's survival of the fittest.
If your friend died of a natural cause, would you eat him? No, you wouldn't. So no, I wouldn't eat it.
I think you have misunderstood the phrase” Survival of the fittest”. It doesn't have anything to do with survival of those who are better equipped for surviving, but the species who are better adapted for immediate, local environment. So when Darwin said Survival of the fittest, he didn't mean that since humans(or other species) have the might to kill weaker animals, we must to survive. He ment that the gene pools in all beings alive today survived because they where the fittest. Not because they/we were physically stronger. So basically everying alive is the fittest, since it has survived.
June 1, 2009 at 11:24 pm #27449kingofgames73Membercomparing a friend to a animal isn’t exactly the same thing thing is it? look (most) humans eat meat, end of, it’s up to them to know where or how it got on their plate, and also what some (please note some not all) of the workers did is very unneccesary agreed . (this post is aimed at no one just wanted to clear it off my chest)

You can't compare humans and animals when it comes to eating meat. For instance, a lion can't make himself a soyastake for dinner, humans can. And animals dont breed other animals to then sloughter them. They kill them because it's their instinct.
Why bother eating anything else with iron and protine? It's healthy, it's ethical, and no animals deserves to die just because I'm hungry.
yes i can. and im not comparing humans to animals, im comparing animals TO ANIMALS. humans are animals too and by nature we eat meat.
the lion analogy is stupid – the lion, like most animals, eats meat and doesn't need or care any other form of food. the kill for food nearly all the time, and actually very rarely kill for fun.
it may be healthy to eat non-meats, but it is also healthy to eat meat. meat ONLY becomes unhealthy IF you eat too much of it.

so your saying if you had little to eat and their was stuff growing around you what you did not know what it is as far as your concerened its poisinous you would not eat the body to survive, you would so many people have eat their own friend and familys dead corpse to survive stuff if you were in that situation you would and were are mearly doing the same to the chikens we are killing it to survie our self not out of the fact of pure fun it outta survival also this topics going to end up like the lets talk topic reading it other now we are all argueeing other a stupid little thing i think we should all stop whilst we are all liking each other i dont want it to get as bad as last time
June 1, 2009 at 11:55 pm #27457Ps3 FreakMemberAtomic-G: totaly agree wiv you we dont want another “killer” incident like on lets talk…

I dont really care that they are serving chicken, and yes they obviously have to kill them. But ripping their heads off while they are alive? And its all the un-nesesary shit they do to the chicken.
after watching the many videos available online, i find myself not only watching the cruelty to these chickens, but also watching ONLY americans.
One thing i might point out is that there has been A LOT of work done in the UK and EU to provide better, humane, and healthier living standards for all farm animals in the production of foods.
but in doing so, we need people to be prepared to pay more for their quality food, rather than pay less for inferior food. Mankind has forced farm and food production to constantly lower it's standards over the years mainly because of supermarkets offering lower prices than retail shops (butchers and bakers etc.), and by being unwilling to pay a good price for better cuts.
If, however, people would go to their local butchers instead of supermarkets and fast food joints, you would find that although the price is higher (due to better quality farming), the taste is far more superior, and even several times more healthier. why healthier? because butchers know exactly where the best parts are ~and you usually would never guess where those proper parts are.
But alas! Nobody wants to pay more for their cuts of meat. even if it would mean taking us out of recession, by pumping more money into the economy, people are selfish ANIMALS who think nothing of themselves. And no… Vegetarians aren't any better either! Yup, that's right! You're selfish if you don't eat meat.

You're not comparing humans to animals, but animals to animal, but humans are animal? So you actually are comparing humans to animals?
How is the lion analogy stupid? That's how it actually works in real life.
And comparing a friend to a dead animals wasn't meant to be taken literal.
In one of my earlier postes, I wrote that I wasn't trying to convert anyone to vegetarianism, so by that you can all conclude that I respect your choice to eat meat. And what's wrong with alittle discussion? Isn't that what a discussion board is for? Just posting pros and cons on eating meat(even though the only pros I've heard so fare are “nature” and that it's healty(untrue)).
June 2, 2009 at 12:11 am #27467shadeblackParticipantyeah i must admit i went a little OB.
anyway, my point is if Vegetarians REALLY want to help, instead of forcing their beliefs onto others like the JWs they are, they should instead be encouraging others to stop buying cheap chickens and turkeys etc from their local supermarket, and instead be persauding others to buy cuts from their local butchers. this is turn has a positive – positive effect on not only the local community, but the people involved, the animals involved, and even the economy of the country! buy paying more for higher quality cuts of animals from your local butchers, you ensure better rights for animals, and all the while, you don't piss off anyone for trolling your choices onto others.
that there is a much better solution to just about EVERYTHING!

Yes, because the recession was caused by the meat industry. And damn pigs who got the flu! SO selfish.

Yeah i love competitive discussion… so I'm not doing any of this on a personal level :S
but eating meat IS healthy, whether you like that fact or not.
“Protein from animal sources contains the full range of essential amino acids needed from an adult's diet. But red meat, in particular, should be eaten in limited amounts due to the high level of saturated fat it contains, which may raise blood levels of 'unhealthy' LDL cholesterol.”
so like *I* said before, it's ONLY unhealthy if you eat too much of the wrong meat.
