Four player co-op announced. Quality.
Where'd you hear that? Just asking.
There's a little bit of info on the game here:
thanks
February 21, 2011 at 9:00 pm #69108NinjacatMemberSpent a while researching this and I think it's going to be amazing!
“open world”
“first person”
“four-player co-operative play”
“focus will be on melee combat”
“customizable weaponry and RPG elements.”
“experience system and a skill tree system”
There is also an energy bar or something that means that while attacking it goes down and the player must rest to regain it before continuing to attack.
Special enemies too! Probably big fat ones and corrosive ones, maybe crawling ones, or flaming ones…
This is certainly looking like a release buy for me, it's looking innovative and interesting and certainly looks quite story based.
February 21, 2011 at 10:04 pm #69109I773D33MABL3MemberThere's no doubt that this is shaoing up to be a beast of a game but I can't help but be a little disappointed that they've moved away from the original concept so much.
When it was first announced the emphisis was on survival horror and combat was going to be quite limited. You were basically an ordinary person caught up in a crazy situation and trying to get out alive. Combat was almost exclusively going to be defensive and used to get out of dangerous situations.
Now we're going to be roaming around with a squad of leveled-up action heroes like in Borderlands. It still sounds like a great game but the combat and zombie classes are bringing it back down to the ordinary.
I don't want to sound negative, like I said, the game still sounds great and it's on the top of my pre-order wish-list, but when I first heard about this game the factor that most got my attention was how different it was going to play to everything else I had at the time. The prospect of creeping around an island where every enemy could be my death sounded awesome.
February 22, 2011 at 12:18 am #69110NinjacatMemberI know what you mean. I'm sure there will be a super hard option, where one attack kills, or, weapons are limited or something, I don't know. If there's not I'll be severely disappointed. I think it's far more survival horror that any other zombie game about at the moment. Dead Rising 2 is a great example of this. I understand it's not meant to be serious and it is just for hilarious weapons and a mindless blood bath but I prefer zombies to be more intimidating. I don't like enemies I can just stroll through without a challenge. I love a challenge. So, perhaps this will still give me what I'm looking for even if I do have super human characters. I don't think it's going to be too unrealistic, apart from the fact there are zombies. I mean, the upgrades and stuff aren't going to be completely far-fetched, like two chainsaws on a broom. I hope not, anyway.

This sounds better

August 3, 2011 at 7:15 pm #70352Doc-BMember20min Gameplay Vid. for your enjoyment
September 5, 2011 at 12:06 am #70660Doc-BMemberSo… Anyone getting this?? I've mine on pre-order for the Bloodbath DLC or whatever it's called…
Looks pretty interesting… And add the fact there's gonna be loads of zombies to stab in the face with knives and I'm all but hooked I though Dead Rising 2 was ok… but pretty crap overall TBH
If anyone does pick this up, and wants to try the MP give me a shout…

I know there's a trophy for completing the 'first part/area/chapter/whatever' of the game with four people so i hope it's good online… And that i can get a decent connection for the whole time needed when i do eventually go for it
September 5, 2011 at 12:29 am #70661Seibei4211MemberI'm getting it, but Resistance 3 takes supreme priority until I have that Plat. I'll have both games at the same time, but I'll probably just do Dead Island when co-op partners are on.
September 5, 2011 at 1:16 am #70662I773D33MABL3MemberI have this, R3 and Space Marine all arriving together so it'll be tough to pick one to start. Dead Island will probably be put aside until my brother buys a copy and with R3 not seeming to have any online trophies (not counting co-op) it might find itself on the back-burner as well.

I'm gonna be renting it on wednesday, so we'll have to try out the co-op together.
September 6, 2011 at 1:18 am #70674Doc-BMemberIt's getting mixed reviews and a day one patch But I'm still looking forward to it

If I see you online I'll give you a shout, help you play the game… Cause we all know how good you are at games, eh

September 6, 2011 at 7:54 pm #70680Doc-BMemberDestructoid called it a “severely broken mess” but gave it 7/10…. The whole review is pretty honest and grounded with fair opinion – http://www.destructoid.com/rev…..0611.phtml

And here's a list of all 37 fixes included in the first, day one, patch…

Well… Oh dear!!
I knew there was gonna be a few glitches with this game[Bethesda], but didn't think it would be quite as bad… From what i read at least. I'm not gonna harp on about how games never seem to be finished these days before release etc., but hope this game will get all the patches it needs, and another couple are on the way sooner rather than never… It's a shame that of all the good things that have been said about this game, none seem to be of a technical orientation…
Oh well, as long as i can still stab sh!t in the face with people online I'll be happy Stab, stab, stab… Love it
Needless to say I'll be picking the sharp weapon specialist… Or as some might know her – The chinese chick. I like the concept and as long as the game isn't completely fuk'd it should be good?
