Dead Space Trophy Guide
By ShadeBlack
Introduction:
Gamers step into a third-person sci-fi survival horror experience that promises to deliver the ultimate in psychological thrills and gruesome action. Set in the cold blackness of deep space, the atmosphere is soaked with a feeling of tension, dread and sheer terror.
The game itself is fairly easy, if you plan your actions and try not to freak out. If you’re playing purely for the trophies, then you might want to know that there are several cheats you can use that don’t interfere with trophy collection! The cheats you can use are listed below:
Press Start during gameplay for all of these!
One Time /-/ You can only use these cheats once.
1,000 Credits
Square, Square, Square, Triangle, Square.
2,000 Credits

Vital Playthrough Information:
First Playthrough:
You can unlock the impossible difficulty simply by completing the game on any difficulty, for this reason, you should put the game on Easy, as it will make it much easier to get all the trophies.
You should use this first game to do the maxed out, and one gun trophies. Your starting weapon is effectively the best weapon in the game. Don’t buy any other weapons because you want to complete this game by using only that gun. Be sure to upgrade your plasma cutter ASAP! The cheats will help you greatly with that!
In chapter 3, there is a glitch you can do in order to get as many credits as you want! I didn’t know about this when I did it, and doing this glitch in chapter 3 will save you a LOT of time and credits while playing. If you don’t do this glitch, you can expect the get the maxed out/big spender trophy near the end of the first playthrough or soon after beginning the second, depending on how much credits you spend, and whether or not you wish to do one-gun on your first playthrough.

“To set it up I moved the credits from the node room right in front of the fast crusher door. Then run back to the save point to trigger the respawn of the credits in their new location. After that you can use Kinesis to pull the credits through the door then run back to the save point and repeat. I started out with 12,600 credits now, after 30 minutes of “hard” work I now have just under 300,000 credits in the middle of Chapter 3. NOTE: AS SOON AS YOU PICK UP A SINGLE CREDIT THE CYCLE ENDS AND YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO RESPAWN THE CREDITS!”
Ensure you search for all the video logs you can find! You don’t need all of them to complete the logs trophies, but if you miss too many of them, you might not get the last one. Other than that, there are several other trophies that can be easily missed, of which you should be aware of while playing the game. These are:
Trophy /-/ Chapter:
Ragdoll Check
Chapter 4, as well as other points during the game. (if you’re doing the one-gun trophy, leave this trophy out until your second playthrough)
Don’t Get Cocky, Kid
Chapter 4, while taking control of the ADS cannon. Use the save point before as it may take you quite a few tries.
Playing Catch
Chapter 6, during the leviathan boss, or if a brute shoots a pod at you.
Slugger
Chapter 8, save before and keep trying until you do it.
Crackshot
Chapter 9, You should find it fairly easily if you explore all the rooms. Make sure you keep doing it until you complete it.
Z-Baller
Chapter 10, Again, explore all rooms to find. Keep at it until you complete the mini-game.
There’s Always Peng!
Chapter 11, Use kinesis to get it.
Second Playthrough:
After completing the game for the first time, you’re given the option to continue. You’ll keep all your credits, power nodes, gear, etc. But it will essentially be a new game. It’ll be on the same difficulty as well. This second playthrough should be very easy! Put simply, you’re filling in the trophies you couldn’t get from the first playthrough with this second one. If you did the One Gun trophy on the first, you can now buy all the weapons and start upgrading them all, as well doing all the ‘kill x amount of enemies’ with those weapons.
Also, if you didn’t get Ragdoll Check, now is a good time to get it, as well as any others you missed/skipped.
Third Playthrough:
This last playthrough is to begin the game on the impossible difficulty and to obtain both the Epic Tier 3 Engineer trophy, and the Platinum. Remember to do the credit glitch on chapter 3 and stock up on as many credits as possible, as you WILL need them!
Since you already did the One Gun trophy, you can purchase any weapon you like from the store. Although some people suggest doing the One Gun trophy on impossible, I found that it really helped to have the Line Gun to cut multiple limbs at once, and the flamethrower for multiple little creatures.
Remember to save when you can, use kinesis to do as much as possible and conserve ammo as much as you can. It’s not that much harder than the normal difficulty, so you should get through it within the week depending on how much and how often you play it.

Story Teller

Continue to collect as many logs as you can. You can afford to miss a few, but that doesn’t mean you should intentionally miss them. Collect everyone of them you can find and you’ll get this sooner than later.
Z-Baller
Complete Level 6 in Zero-G Basketball
A mini-game in Chapter 10.
Jump onto the lit up platforms to build a multiplier, use kinesis to catch the ball and shoot it into the goal. Easier than it seems, but may take some practice!

You’ll get it as you play.
Armstrong
TK shoot 50 objects
Continue to shoot objects around with your Kinesis power, and you’ll get this trophy as you play through the game. Alternatively, find something that doesn’t brake and repeatedly pickup and throw it using Kinesis.
Marksman
Dismember 20 Limbs
You’ll get it as you play.
Surgeon
Dismember 500 Limbs
You’ll get it as you play. Remember to shoot the limbs rather than the bodies.

Continue to use you’re stasis on enemies and you’ll get this fairly quickly. Remember to use the Stasis Refill cheat if you like.
Crackshot
Achieve a perfect score in the Shooting Gallery
Mini-Game in Chapter 8.
This may take some practice but, keep at it until you have shot them all without.
Air Alert
Zero G jump over 100 times
You can get this when you do the Z-Baller Trophy.
Brawler
Kill at least 30 enemies with a melee attack
Stasis the enemy first, then melee them a couple times. Remember to use the refill stasis cheat when you’re doing this.
Ragdoll Check
Force an enemy into a gravity panel 5 times
Best place is Chapter 4.
Most people say you can just push them into them gravity panels. I found it easier to stasis them and use the Force gun to blow them into the panels.
Big Spender
Spend 200,000 credits at the store
This becomes fairly easy if you use the Chapter 3 Credit Glitch.
If you choose not to use that glitch, then you’ll get this while playing through the game. Don’t spend money for no reason though, because you’ll need as much money as possible as a precaution.

Obtain the weapon, and kill 30 enemies with it!
A Cut Above
Kill 30 enemies with the Ripper

There’s Always Peng
Find the Peng Treasure
Obtainable in Chapter 11.
Can be sold for a good amount of Credits as well!
When you come back to the landing bay, you’ll find the Peng Treasure (a golden trophy) in-between the walk-ways. Use Kinesis to grab and obtain it.
Brute Force
Kill a Brute
You’ll find the first one in Chapter 4.
Use stasis on it, move behind it and shoot the back of its limbs to kill it quicker.
Exterminator
Kill the Leviathan
The Leviathan Boss is in Chapter 6.
Shoot the yellow spots to destroy the tentacles. Eventually the mouth will open; shoot it in the mouth when it does.
Get off my ship!
Kill the Slug Boss
The Slug Boss is in Chapter 8.
Shoot the yellow spots to destroy the tentacles. Eventually, it’ll be left with no tentacles and fly off into space. Make sure you also shoot the trash it throws at you.
Mindless Prey
Kill the Hive Mind
The Hive Mind is in Chapter 12.
Shoot the yellow spots on its tentacles, whilst avoiding its attacks. Eventually it’ll pick you up. You’ll be upside down, which means the controls have been inverted. You have a time limit, so be quick about shooting its yellow spots.
Soon, it’ll drop you, and you’ll need to carry on avoiding its attacks. Eventually, it opens its chest, which you need to shoot as quickly as possible.
Playing Catch
Catch a Brute or Leviathan Pod using Kinesis
You can do this with the Brute in Chapter 4. But it’s much easier to accomplish while fighting The Leviathan in Chapter 6.
Kickin it
Escape from a Lurker’s grab attack 10 times
The Lurkers are the baby-like creatures that shoot spikes at you. You have to let them grab you, and then fight them off by repeatedly tapping ‘X’. Sometimes they don’t grab you when you want them to. If you keep dodging their attacks and moving up to them, they will eventually grab you.
Don’t get cocky, kid
Survive the ADS Canon with over 50% Shield strength remaining
In Chapter 4, You take control of the ADS Cannon. Conveniently, there is a save point before you do it. This will take quite a few times to do. Just continue until you’ve done it.
Slugger
Kill the Slug Boss with more than 50% Shield strength remaining
In Chapter 8, there is a save point before you do the boss, make sure you use it, and continue to do it until you’ve got the trophy.
Watch out for all the junk parts that the slug throws at you. With practice, it won’t take too long, but can be a little frustrating.
Survivor
Beat the game on any difficulty setting
You’ll get this after your first playthrough.
Legend Teller
Collect 150 Logs
Pick up ever log you find, and you’ll get this about halfway through Chapter 11.
Just make sure you observe every part of the rooms you go into and explore every part of the map. Also, check the logs in the menu to see if you missed any.
Full Arsenal
Own every Weapon in the game
Buy every weapon, and you’ll get this!
Butcher
Dismember 1000 Limbs
Don’t worry if you don’t get this in your first playthrough; it’s a cumulative trophy, so you can continue to play the game until you get it. Just remember to shoot the limbs, and not the enemy’s bodies.
Epic Tier 3 Engineer
Complete the game on the hardest difficulty setting
You’ll get this as soon as you complete the game on impossible mode.
One Gun
Beat the game using only the Plasma Cutter
You’ll get this after completing the game without using any weapon other than the plasma cutter (the one you start with).
Tip: You can actually buy the other weapons and upgrade them, but you cannot use them if you want this trophy.
Maxed Out
Upgrade all weapons and equipment
Obtain and Upgrade all weapons.
Concodrance Officer
Unlock all the other Trophies
-Congratulations! 😀
Summary:
This game is highly atmospheric, and gets its difficulty from the induced fear it provides. The game itself, however, is fairly easy. This is reflected in the trophies.
If you plan your game thoroughly, it becomes even easier. Trophies aside, it’s great fun if you can pass the frightening events that occur in the game.
