Also another critical thing would be for them to mix up how they get around the place, i mean as soon as you see a vent your on the defensive!
Lol it was the times when you don't see the vent that got me
Another thing, did anybody else nearly have a heart attack at the end when Nicole appeared on the shuttle?
February 8, 2010 at 4:22 pm #57249Antony19MemberAVP has a lot of action but still it keep the horror

it reminded me of iron man i just hope they keep the great horror setting
how scary it is is probably the only reason i haven't plated it yet as i tend to shy away from most horror games
March 29, 2010 at 3:07 pm #60351Doctor_RockMemberGot to say I cannot wait for this. I still play Dead Space 1 and it's still great.
While you may not to need to check every corner in the new game, it will be terrifying when you open a door and come across a ton of Necromorphs with very little ammo. Just like AvP hopefully!

Hope that doesn't take away from the experience. I quite liked the claustrophic feeling of being on the Ishimura.

I did not… in fact, that was a big issue for me. Once you figured out how to kill the necromorphs, the game really just became a matter of killing them before you ran out of hallway to back up in. Most of the battles were so straight forward because of this, and the most fun ones were in the open rooms – they were way more intense and scary, since they could come from any direction instead of just directly in front of you. What sucked was that in the large rooms you realize how stiff the movement was, and it became a huge detriment in the fight. In the GI special they talk about how there will be much larger areas, which the enemy AI will use to its advantage (distracting you while others sneak up behind you, etc), and Isaacs new improved mobility will work well with those environments. Hopefully this is in fact the case.
March 30, 2010 at 12:31 am #60375Doc-BMemberThat was a fault of the programmers, not the game… As such…
The claustrophobic feeling of the first could have been greatly exploited with better enemy design… Like the “Lickers” of Res evil… But i hear what your saying, i never felt “under-pressure” very much because i knew where the enemy would be attacking from. I do love creepy dark corridors though…
March 30, 2010 at 1:13 am #60380parnakasMemberI think the atmosphere was great in Dead Space, i really loved some of the tight corridors and spaces, and the open spaces were cool too.
But when you walked into a big space, you could be almost certain you were getting into a fight. But with the small corridors, some would have random enemies, some would have none. It was very suspenseful!
I doubt that the devs will screw this game up, the screens look great, and i heard the core gameplay mechanics were pretty much the same, which is a good thing.
Really looking forward to this game. Its my most anticipated, out of anything else coming out that i know of.May 13, 2010 at 11:33 am #61884gow2rulesMembernew screenshots looks really good
