I love his hipocrisy.

Here's my favourite part: Thompson: 'Tell them I hope they all either repent or die immediately.' Isn't that intent to harm or murder?

And as a poster on the actual article said, he has more unresolved issues than a series of Lost!

didnt know this guy -im european.

whats really sad is people of his age are still going around pretending gaming has corrupted society. maybe if parents didnt need to both have jobs to feed their families , maybe if they stopped giving up on their kids and putting them in front of a tv from age 4 to avoid having to actually take care of them (god forbid) , then maybe kids' violence levels wouldnt be so high. maybe if western countries chose to put money in education rather than in the military , then kids' violence , blah blah….

but then again i dont know , maybe social , economic factors come into the equation somewhere. and maybe if guns were better controlled (in the US , as clearly J.Thompson is american ) kids wouldnt have easy access to them , and kids'violence blah blah.

maybe if modern society gave individuals value regardless of financial and social status,kids' blahblah….

of course , im 29 , grew up with v.games in what most (except brazilians ) would call a very violent neighborhood , and guess what ? im not violent. except on ps3.

…as someone said 'everybodys dangerous , theres just some that are more dangerous than others'

the ignorance of some people , i swear….

OMG, I loved that article. I thought I was going to piss my pants because I was laughing so hard. Wow, what an idiot. He is completely wrong in his assumption that violence in video games, movies, TV, etc caused the youth to become violent. How do I know this? It could because I have a degree in Social Psychology Most teenagers that have resorted to violence was due to lack of an authoritative parent figure, their socio-economic status, and their individual self-esteem and confidence. There have been kids in the middle class who played the most violent video games created, but did not even show any sign of aggressive behaviors at all. It is also noted that these same children were also rated as having a number of friends and high levels of self-confidence. So to Mr. Thompson……READ A BOOK!!! In fact, read psychological research that has been conducted by many leading experts in this field.

yes , well , edge4eva , im not sure mr Thompson CAN read…

(strange how running out of arguments makes people resort to verbal violence when their whole point is 'v.games are bad because of violence' , oh well…)
