June 3, 2009 at 12:07 am #27544shadeblackParticipantno one can tell the future… all we can do is hope that they do. however, it would be after KH3 as the team doing it all is tied up with several other things to do.
June 4, 2009 at 2:40 pm #27628BigWoopMagazineMemberIt is extremely doubtful that there will ever be a remake. It was said in an interview with a square-enix representative that they said the only way FF7 will get remade is if they can get the entire orginal team back together. They are well aware of the demand for a remake, but feel that to get it right, they need those people working on it… which if you think about it, makes a lot of sense, but is also nearly impossible, since I'm sure those people have lives outside the realm of final fantasy, and it has been well over ten years since then. This is why instead you see prequels, sequels and animated movies being released that are completely outside the timespan of the original game. Sorry to bash your dreams in, but I'm a huge fan and want it too. I still have the original discs for the game, despite the fact that they are scratched and won't work past the fmv sequence in Kalm…
June 5, 2009 at 2:28 am #27650orestes1981MemberWhy would you want a remake? It could be like the remake of Psycho starring Vince Vaughn. Better yet, it could be like Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes. If you want to play FF7, you can just get the original off PSN. >__> Are you that much of a graphics whore?
June 5, 2009 at 2:41 am #27653P0kennyMemberI read somewhere that if FFVII was to be ‘remade’ to be in HD and have your godly ‘trophies’ that it would cost more than it cost to do Terminator Salvation (I’m talking about the Movie, not the game). And it isn’t worth the cost of employing people to remake it and sell it at stupid prices, so that they could cover the costs. They will also have to get actors in to make the cut seans more realistic and less robotic. That is the only reason they wont remake it, and what is wrong with the original anyway? When ever someone remakes anything, it is generally worse than the original. For example: Someone thought it would be a good idea to make the pink floid song ‘another brick in the wall’ into a dance song… Yeah lets make a Hate your teacher rock song, into a dance song… wft are you on f**king drugs?
June 5, 2009 at 3:26 am #27658shadeblackParticipantthe reason why people want a remake is because so many people love the original. the story, the battle system, the characters etc. and to see such an iconic game brought back in high definition graphics, with voice acting etc, would be an amazing experience. it's so you can revisit the game without the struggle of reading absolutely everything, and let's not forget that the original graphics in FFVII is very poor.
although i love the original, and wouldn't change it for the world, to have it re-made would be absolute bliss for me! I would even pay double the normal price of a game if it went on sale.
FFVII game with Advent Children graphics and voice acting…. YES, YES, YES!
so the question is… why wouldn't you!?
June 5, 2009 at 12:42 pm #27679Nath-The-GreatMemberI'd pay double for the remake, in fact if i had the money id cover the costs of production myself lol.
Seriously though i dont see any reason for them not to do it, they already have a story and characters and locations. They only need to update the way it looks and to add voice acting – cant be that much of a job can it?
It would take ages for them to bring it up to date, but they would be guaranteed sales, this game has such a huge fan base. Oh well heres hoping one day….
June 5, 2009 at 4:28 pm #27684BigWoopMagazineMemberI don't even want voice acting unless its VERY well done, I kinda like the way they sound in my head. Just a graphical update, and we're set. And shade, while the graphics are poor by today's standards, lets not forget that when FFVII was released it won awards for having the best FMV sequences of any game that year, it blew everything else out of the water. So,,, while I want the update, at the same time I think its good to appreciate how great this was when it first game out, how great it still is, and just how far graphics have come along since then.
Trophies could be pretty interesting though, theres so many side quests to do. Get all 8 Huge Materia and I'll give you an imaginary gold trophy!
June 5, 2009 at 11:47 pm #27692shadeblackParticipantyeah i know what you mean… after playing FFVII for thefirst time in ten years, I can truly say that it is STILL amazing!
since it was only on the playstation (1), then you think about how excellent the quality of the graphics and the gameplay really is!
