Obviously MW2
i dont know why yo say the campaign is crappy
it has great animation & also the story is  badass!!

U2 is good for a playtrough maybe 2 but just that 
because its FAKE

all of your friend's list is playing MW2 instead of Uncharted 2
because MW2 deserves GOTY
if you dont believe me just check your friend's list & you'll see no one playing U2 and the majority playing MW2!!

There was absolutely NO thought put into that comment. Honestly, only a few on my friends list are even still playing MW2. I have more ppl playing CoD 4 still on my friends list. I've asked, and most say they liked it better than MW2. I still have ppl on my list that LOVE U2 bc the story rocks and the MP is pretty great. Just bc alot of ppl play the game, doesnt mean it will win. In fact, do some research. You will find most top selling games dont win GOTY awards. Again this ENTIRE thread is just an OPINION. And believe me, opinions mean nothing in life.

I think I'll give my opinion which might take a while cause I'm going to review the main games this year, not just the ones at this Christmas time.

Killzone I thought was great although I preferred the online to the single player even though the single player was pretty good! I think Street Fighter 4 has been overlooked but I'm not surprised, it seemed like a game for the elitists instead of those looking for a cheap thrill but for me the artistic style was one of the best this year. 

Infamous was one great original game and I can't wait for its' sequel. The powers were addictive and riding around the city on power lines and gliding around the place was so much fun. Comparing it to prototype I'd say I got bored of Prototype far too easily, the powers whilst fun for a while just got repetitive. Infamous had an amazing balance to it that most games rarely find so it, I think gets a GOTY nomination. Resident Evil 5 was a huge disappointment for me being a Resi fan from the start. It took the success of Resi 4 and painted new maps over the top and gave you an idiotic partner. Epic fail from it, but still fun at points. 

For sports, I think it's just down to personal preference for what sport is your favourite, for me it's Fifa 10 but I wouldn't blame anyone else for picking something else. For these Christmas games my critical analysis is going to be quite limited being that I'm getting AC2 for Christmas and I haven't played Borderlands. Other than that the other main three or four games I can comment on. Taking Ratchet and Clank first it was phenomenal as usual. Especially the Clank puzzles and the space travel were brilliant innovations, but I think for next time they definitely need to shake it up and do something incredibly different or shocking.

Ok, now time for the big two (in my eyes, except for AC2 that I haven't played yet ). Commenting on the stories I have to say that MW2 nicks it, although I never thought I'd say it. It had so many ups and downs and surprising twists. The only downside was that it was too short. Not surprising since Infinity Ward had the amazing multiplayer to design. Uncharted 2 had an amazing story as well and it looks ten times better than anything else on the market. I give my GOTY to Uncharted 2, purely because it was so fun to play and had such a great flow to it. It was more enjoying to play and didn't frustrate as much as MW2 did at points.

Apologies for the essay here, but since I haven't been on for a while I had to get my gaming opinion out somewhere! If you still here, thanks for reading!

my GOTY is MW2. i wish i could have finished the campaign at least before my ps3 broke. simply amazing, graphics are great, easy to follow story, realistic and overall 10/10. thats just teh campaign. again, i havent been able to finish spec ops either, although it aint perfect, i think IW did well giving us something else to do with a mate. really fun imo if you and your mate have mics and do it on veteran and it adds a bit of challenge. now for the best online ever… why? maps have been done to perfection, loving the guns and the attatchments like heartbeat sensor, thermal etc.. perks are amazing! and you get to unlock pro for them (fack yah!), loaaaaads of challenges to do on guns and everything else to keep you occupied. the game modes are just what you want, the killstreaks are fun to get and the deathstreaks have been done well to as theyre not exactly amazing (which is good) but they do help you get through it if your playing bad (glad to say i hardly ever get a deathstreak! ). i mean if i could give the online 1000/10 i would but lets just say 10/10. oh yeah and its somewhat addictive!!!!!! COD4 is awesome yet its topped that easy! and yeah at one point i basically so all my friends list on MW2.

RUNNERS UP:

1. FIFA 10. since i love sports games, this is particularly good. well, lets face it, its the best sports game out. i still havent got bored of it and i think ive played around 60 hours on it (got the 50 hour trophy ). so many modes to play, manager mode is addictive (toon in the prem!? YEP! ), Be A Pro is great fun and i love pro championship (the online version of BAP). i strongly recommend this if you like football! 10/10.

2. since i havent got borderlands or AC2 i'd have to say U2. although it isnt one of my fav games, and even though i thought it didnt really expand on uncharted:DF's single player, U2 is still good. multiplayer wears off easily but single player is very gripping and fun. 8.7/10

once i get borderlands and AC2 for christmas im sure this will change, hopefully even my GOTY choice!  but i dont think so.

Thanks.  I know I could have expanded on that and explained those choices, but I chose not to so we can have less arguing and more opinions.  All these games get great credit no matter what, because they did everything top notch, and they are FUN.  MW2 is fun and all, but it was short, and it didn't really do anything new for me.  It seemed like the same old stuff, with new graphics, and some slight tweaks to the perk system online.  I'm actually thinking about returning it, I was kinda dissapointed.

Exactly. I couldn't agree with you more. You are now cool in my book. and so is bigwoopmagazine since their list was good and did NOT include MW2. I like people that don't always follow what is always popular 🙂

My GotY is definatly the Hannah Montana game. OMG I've waited so long for a game based on the sexbomb that is Miley Cyrus, the gameplay is well thought out and varied, i guarantee you will never get bored of it, plus, with a stellar soundtrack, this is one everyone can enjoy, Also (and i know it doesnt could towards a games god-like status) the trophy difficulty is well thought out, it's not as difficult to plat as say… Terminator Salvation, but is a lot harder and challenging that say Mirror's Edge or Warhawk, its is a platinum you can be proud of, and no doubt a 10 out of 10 game
