Memberok guys just leave it parnakes was ust givng him opinion so no need to start a arguemnt and also thought parnakes please try not to swear also nufc please rescpet everyone opinnions and try not to bring the topic off topic ok now this has ben said lets finish it here and lets carry on with the original topic i think game of the year will be modern warfare 2 but i also think bioshock 2 will be right behind it so i think itll be a close year

Dark Void or InFamous may be that original IP.. they both look great.

Whats Dark Void? Yay! I wonder what thats gonna be like? Plasmid battles! oh that would definitely bump it up the list for GOTY in my book.
In response to this graphical argument going on… graphics isn't everything man. Really what makes a game great is… is it fun??? MGS4 was great and all, but it was more movie than game. I felt like I was just getting into the gameplay style and it ended… with an hour and a half long movie set. With the whole UFC vs Fight Night thing, I feel like whatever game has smoother controls and a fun fight system will win, which is the very reason I love Soul Calibur games and probably won't bother with any other fighters.
Somebody mentioned prototype, and I believe that is an IP with a lot of potential. The graphics aren't the greatest so far, but one can only hope that what it lacks in graphics it makes up for in smooth controls, epic battles, and unique gameplay mechanics. I'd keep an eye on that one. It looks similar to Infamous in certain respects, and I can say for sure that Infamous is truly badass, however the shape shifting abilities if done right, could definitely one-up on the electric powers.
gow2rules – Heavy Rain? man I haven't even heard anything about that in a while, and everytime I heard anything it seems shrouded in mystery. What is the deal with this game? And is it actually releasing this year?

GOTY for me is no doubt Uncharted 2. It has the best overall package than any game coming out this year.
Online of the year will either go to Uncharted 2 (looks amazing), MW2 (duh), or Killzone 2 (YAA!!).
I am just eager to see what happens throughout the year.
And miiitch, lol i was joking around with the 100 i's
Knoxie – i really hope you are not taking this as me and you getting pissed off at each other… just leave it behind if it is that important

anyways i think MW2 will be a clear winner as the graphics & the environment looks perfect & the online…. nearly everyone knows its gona have the best online
 May 29, 2009 at 3:16 pm #27056Memberparnakas – I still own MGS1 (+VR Missions!), 2, 3, and 4… and somewhere, although I'm not entirely sure where, I have the original Metal Gear for NES… unfortunately my NES is broken tho… so believe me, I did appreciate all the story line movie bs (some of those videos were pretty badass!), but it was just too much. The first time I beat it I was like “awesome” and by the time the ending movie ran through I was like “holy shit, how long was that?!”. Play it again and skip all the movies, you realize just how short a game it is. But seriously MGS1 is still my favorite, because I loved the gameplay. That had to be in the top 5 of games ever released for PSOne.Â
I'll be googling this dark void thing soon,,, I got an ad for it in one of my new games, either infamous or bionic commando, can't remember which… but I do beleive being a new IP gives a game great position to be a GOTY contender. If its well done and fun, and something we've never seen before, its gonna stand out like a sore thumb in a room full of tiny fingers… (did that make sense?)

ok, first off, all the cutscenes in MGS4 are sooooo awesome.Â
Second, if you skip all the cutscenes, you are still left with a lot of gameplay. I mean A LOT. its not 2 hours of gameplay, 100 hours of cutscenes. Its more like, 15 hours of gameplay, 16 hours of cutscenes.
Third, Dark Void ad MUST have been in Bionic Commando. Dark Void is a Capcom game, like BC. And yea, google it, it is awesome.Â
