The winners are in. Discuss:

PS3 Game of the Year: Killzone 2

Ultimate Game of the Year: Fallout 3

One to Watch: Modern Warfare 2

Publisher of the Year: Activision Blizzard

COD seems to have finished runner up in a few of the categories, however I'm sure MW2 will fare much better at next years awards.

ditto. Killzone wasn't anything special. Just another standard shooter with fantastic graphics. Fantastic Graphics does not equal fun, no matter what anyone says. Where as uncharted 2 was amazing in every single way posssible.

hmmm, COD:MW2 would win it i believe as KZ2 wasnt even that good, just the graphics were good. single player got boring quick and multiplayer was just FULL of n00bs. not saying the n00bs have got anything to do with how good it was but i expected more.

Uncharted 2 is much better than KZ2 altogether although i expected more of the single player, hasnt really moved on from the first one imo graphics wise and surroundings wise, but drake looks neat. what i was impressed with was the multiplayer! the co-op is the best part of the game i reckon! i was suprised as i didnt think much of the beta but online is good as well. so i'd give U2 a 9/10 and KZ2 a 7/10

MW2 and U2 didn't qualify to be entered in this years competition but will no doubt be nominated for GOTY 2010

Call of Duty: World at War won the MSN multiplayer game of the year!

Fallout 3 deserved ultimate GOTY.

I think Uncharted 2 was probably released too late to get playstation GOTY. It's better than Killzone 2.

One to watch – no surprise

Publisher of the year – no surprise either (unfortunately)

COD couldn't win that category cos it was for PS exclusives and its only 11 days to MW2 well practically 10 now cos it about 5 mins to midnight

i really thought that InFamous was better than KZ2. i liked KZ2, but i dont think it was the best ps3 game this year..

i know everyone loves Fallout 3, but i think that it is over rated..

i loved killzone 2, it bacame rubbish once all the good players stopped going online, but the story was amazing and the online was superb. i think it does deserve game of the year tbh because it such a special thing not possible on any other console. and (risking my life here) fall out 3 is BS, boring as hell, you spen half an hour walking to washington and it is just pointless!!!! plus if you miss something, you have to start the game again, especiallly the position i was in. i agree MW2 should be the one to watch, as it will be hugeley popular and should be good. I am not however surprised that cod WaW is not there because (life on the line again) it was absaloutley terrible, graphics rubbish, way too many glitches, the campaign was terrible and it was just plain terrible, Cod 4 wasnt that much better, but better non-the-less with better graphics and the online felt a little stronger. Thats my rant, and short essay about this topic, only really to get out of doing homework 😉

Can't blame Ideal for not liking Fallout 3. It was just Oblivion with a new skin and weapons system (Damnit Bethesda!). I would have been happier with it if it were still top-down and turn based like the old ones. All the same I did still like it alot.

Concerning WaW: I agree with ya! The single player campaign was terrible, but for the graphics – I couldn't be happier with them!! I'd take framerate over graphics any day of the week!!

That seems really wierd to me,,, nominated GOTY 2010, but they released in 2009? Does anyone else see how that doesn't make sense?

Fallout 3 did a really great job of making you feel like you were in the wasteland. The story really comes through well when the setting matches so well. That said, the setting can also get really boring, because after a bit everything looks the same. After beating this game, it wasn't really exciting to pick it up and play again. But, it still beats anything on the xbox or wii… etc. If the nominations actually extended through the entire 2009 year, Borderlands would have this flat out beaten.
