Why the hell is there not a thread for this already?
Who's picking it up then? There's gotta be someone.
November 18, 2010 at 1:35 am #68042I773D33MABL3MemberI'd say people have been avoiding making a thread because every time we get our hopes up the poxy release date gets bumped. I can't believe we've actually managed to get within a week of a date without it going arse-up.
I'm getting the game anyway. It just looks unreal. I knew the game was going to be massive but the trophy list has made me think it's going to be bigger again. I'm not a petrol-head myself and I come from the Motorstorm school of driving so I'm hoping I won't find it too technical. I want depth, not impenetrable murk.
Gnilsia picked up the steering wheel for GT Prologue and he swears by it so I'm thinking of grabbing one myself. I've tried his and there's no doubt it adds to the experience.
November 18, 2010 at 10:50 am #68043dizzel22Memberyeah i pre-ordered this today and picked up AC:B and NFS hot pursuit . Definatley getting the steering wheel for this , i havent had one since the original GT.

November 18, 2010 at 6:52 pm #68049Doc-BMemberI've heard that GT5 was ready for release at the same time as, but held it back as to not upset the sales of, Black Ops… What ever happened to competition??
And GT5 being a PS3 only game and only about 3 years late, i really think if faced with a choice 'Joe public', with money for only one new game, would have opted for GT. Most people I've spoken to, PS3, have had problems with BO, with the exception of Knoxie of course
IMO 'GT Prologue' wasn't very good I'm not sure if it was patched but i thought the handling of the car was heavy and sluggish… It looked good but it didn't 'feel' good?? I just wonder how much 'patching' GT will need? It seems most games these days need a patch almost as soon as the game is released
November 18, 2010 at 7:16 pm #68050mason1182MemberI know someone that works for Sony and one of the main reasons that it didnt come out on the 5th of November when it was meant to was because of the security surrounding the copying of the game. The game was finished and ready for manufacturing in the middle of september but because of the whole PSjailbreak thing, when running on the PS update 3.41 the game could be copied but it has been fixed so that it cant be on the update 3.50. It had nothing to do with COD Black OPs.
November 18, 2010 at 7:19 pm #68051mason1182MemberSo you can blame the hackers for GT5 getting pushed back anther month.

If i got a dollar every time i read that…
November 18, 2010 at 10:42 pm #68053mason1182MemberWell i work in a game shop so we get Sony and Microsoft reps coming in to set up their new products all the time.
November 18, 2010 at 10:43 pm #68054parnakasMemberI would definitely consider buying this if it ever got released.
It really looks awesome. Looks to have almost every type of racing in the game, and I also heard there was a track creator? Maybe? idk. Rumors.
Everyone bashes this game (including myself) because it keeps getting pushed back, and its really not that fair to all the fans of the game. So even with all these delays, the game still does look interesting, and fun.
November 18, 2010 at 10:50 pm #68056mason1182MemberThere is a sort of track editor not like modnation racers or anything but it lets you tweak certain parts of the track, i have played the demo and the graphics are amazing. Wish i could have tried it out on a 3d tv though.
November 19, 2010 at 7:35 pm #68061mason1182MemberWas working in the shop today and we have the proper physical copies of GT5 in so no more delays, released wed 24th november
November 25, 2010 at 1:06 am #68117I773D33MABL3MemberWell I've had this for a few hours now and I have to say I'm impressed. Shite at it, but impressed.
I'm actually a little intimidated by just how much there is in the game. You could spend nearly an hour just playing around in the menus! I'm loving the fact that even if I'm stuck on a particular event, there's loads of other stuff I can go off and try so I'm always progressing.
I haven't struggled too much yet as in any of the 'unrestricted' tracks I just use one of the cars that came with the Signature edition to blow everything else of the track. But I think the licenses are going to kick up the difficulty a few notches. I've only dabbled in the first one and it did not go smoothly.
The game must be a dream for petrol-heads as I know nothing about cars but even I'm getting a kick out of the maintenance and tuning. The depth of the options is awesome!
I don't want to get too comfortable yet as I only have the controller and I want to wait for the steering wheel before I really invest some time in the game. Not that it's easy to put down.
One issue I have is that I can't hear my music during the race. Does anyone know where I can tweak the volume?
November 25, 2010 at 2:21 am #68132NinjacatMemberI wish I could say the same, but I haven't got my copy yet. I am sadface! If I have it tomorrow, I wont get to play it, damn anniversaries. D:
But, I am very much looking forward to playing it to death…eventually. I haven't even started driving myself yet, but I've loved cars since I was little, and I was brought up on Gran Turismo due to my dads love of cars.
I've been watching videos of GT5, and it's just amazingly beautiful. I can't wait to put Feeder-Just a day on while I slam around the worlds most famous shapes of tarmac.
November 25, 2010 at 7:38 pm #68148d4h8a15r16m23a42Memberi don’t know if anyone has even played it but can anyone tell me how NASCAR is in the game…..
