Burnout Paradise is coming to the PSN as a full game download this thursday (25th) for $29.99.
And with this release comes an update which will give the game trophy support! Finally!!

September 22, 2008 at 11:43 pm #17234shadeblackParticipantwow three awesome games on the psn on the same day!!!
now this really IS a dilema. do i play wipeout, megaman 9 or burnout.
who cares I'll play them all one after the other is good enough.
September 23, 2008 at 2:53 am #17235PlayzockerMemberI think I'll first get the Wipeout Demo, then play Burnout for a few hours (in case the trophies are retroactive I should get about 70% right away – I never played it online :D) and THEN I'll go back to Wipeout (if I liked it) and buy the full game. This should keep me busy until the BBC trophy patch will be released sometimes in October.
September 23, 2008 at 3:47 pm #17237shadeblackParticipantbbc? trophies for watching the bbc channel?
September 23, 2008 at 4:32 pm #17238PlayzockerMemberThis should be awarded as well, yes 😀
Now, I was talking bout Battlefield: Bac Company
September 23, 2008 at 5:24 pm #17239killer3129Memberomfg these trophies look so eazy i thurt they would b a bit harder hope i get them all part form the 100% when i go on when are they released for the game if u already hav it on disk and dont buy it off ps store?
September 23, 2008 at 7:43 pm #17240PlayzockerMemberThe trophies will be retroactive! (most likely :D)
September 23, 2008 at 7:46 pm #17241killer3129Memberall of them?
September 23, 2008 at 8:04 pm #17242shadeblackParticipanti don't think they should be retro active at all. defeats the point of earning the trophies.
September 23, 2008 at 9:37 pm #17243PlayzockerMemberWell – I think otherwise. You have already earned the trophies but they simply could not be issued. Where's the difference WHEN you do your 180° flatspin? If you did it, you deserve the trophy.
Since BP is the only game where your offline gaming process is also linked to your PSN account (so I read) it's easy to differentiate really earned stuff from bogus downloaded savegames so that ALL trophies can be issues retroactively.
September 24, 2008 at 1:45 am #17248shadeblackParticipantgood point:
“Phipps also revealed that Criterion was “thinking ahead” and the Trophies will, in fact, be retroactive, meaning that players will receive them for feats already performed in the game. This is, according to Phipps, possible because of the way Burnout Paradise save data is linked to players' PSN accounts, which also means it won't be happening in other PS3 games en masse.“
I don't know exactly what i've got against retroactive trophies, but for some reason, I have it in me that I simply dislike the idea of getting them all in one go.
For me at least, it would have taken the fun out of it. I like to get a trophy as and when I've earned it – Not in one big go because I've done it previously. does that make sense?
September 24, 2008 at 1:52 am #17250PlayzockerMemberThis, I can totally understand. I know how it's gonny be this Thursday. I boot the game, install the patch and get like 50 trophies at once. They will bosst my rank but I'll be annoyed because I have to enter them at Playfire all at once.
You're definitely right that this takes the fun out of the trophy hunt – BUT it's definitely better than having either no trophies at all or having to replay the entire game.
But remember this: You won't get your Platinum Thursday, there will definitely still be something to hunt for … and if it's just a few more smashes 😀
September 24, 2008 at 4:49 pm #17251shadeblackParticipantwell i've never played the game before so i will have to buy and START playing the game for the first time.
I've got my work cut out for me this thursday!
