my friend has been hacked and he knows exactly who hacked him but he told me on his other account he cant get back since he changed him hotmail account and he also put a fake age since he was under 16 any advice to give to him?
May 27, 2009 at 6:43 am #26768shadeblackParticipantnothing apart from the usual.
he may know who it was, but I'm guessing he can't prove it.
May 27, 2009 at 6:46 am #26770Oz-MetalheadMemberEek that sucks.
How big was his collection of trophies on his account? Maybe he could start over if it isn't much?
Damn i hate hackers. I have too many trophies now to risk giving my details out. All that effort going to waste would make me stop playing games….for a while anyways lol.
If it did happen to me i'd be able to play some games again for trophies like Fallout 3!
Maybe he could contact sony? The age lie probably won't help him at all. Sorry i'm not sure what he could do.

How does someone hack there account? Did they provide personal information or something? Did they let a person use their account to get a download or something?

Yeah. Some people pretend they wanna share games so some people give out their email and password. Next thing theyve changed the password and then the email. I've gamershared twice. Never again. Too much work has gone into my account now.
May 27, 2009 at 10:27 am #26779P0kennyMemberThats wgy I use a secondary account to game share, but I only game share with prople I trust. I.E. Friends and family, however I have got 2 or 3 PSN friends sharing with me on my second account.
Going back to tyhe original topic, if he lied to sony about his age, that wont be an issue… Get him to get one of his parents to call sony up and explain the situation and have them lie about his age.
May 27, 2009 at 10:34 am #26785orestes1981MemberI just never game share. I do not trust people. There is very few people I trust, and each one of them has earned it. So, I would never give out my account information to anyone.
As the saying goes, “the only person I trust is my priest.”
May 27, 2009 at 12:53 pm #26789monkeymoobsMemberif you are gonna game share best thing is to go to there house and do it yourself so they dont get ur password that way you cant be hacked i would be so pissed off if it happened to me cos there is no way I'm doing burn em out on veteran again.
May 27, 2009 at 1:31 pm #26793RaptorguyMemberI would think that Sony could assist in some manner if you somehow lost access to your account. As a database guy, I believe Sony's sytem would be set up track everything and keep a history of everything…its basic database stuff. I wouldn't hesitate to contact them…maybe blame it on your little brother or something and don't fess up to the fraud.
May 28, 2009 at 4:03 am #26901shadeblackParticipantlike we've all said before, you should only gameshare with people you physically know, and are very good friends.
and thanks to Oz for pointing out that I'm a platinum user lol I hadn't realised it!
May 28, 2009 at 7:26 am #26906buNNY_RabidMemberSorry this is a little off topic but what is gamesharing? Is that for like dlc?

Good thought, but if the guy gave away his details to someone else, then sony are just gonna say 'Your fault'
