what i want to know if anyone think if my PS3 will survive a couple of weeks on 24/7?
i figure that's the only way i'll be able to plat Brutal Legend, i've try so many things and none worked, so i'm going to try finishing the whole thing without turning my console off, but i have a FULL TIME job and a FULL TIME wife, so i can only play a couple of hours a day, i think it should tame me less than 2 weeks, what do you think?October 25, 2010 at 7:23 pm #67562I773D33MABL3MemberWhy can you not turn the game off?
I can't imagine your console would have too much of an issue as long as you keep it cool and dust it well beforehand. But a couple of weeks is really pushing it.
October 25, 2010 at 8:32 pm #67566jenkem_addict88Membermy roomate left mine on before we went out of town and when we came back 4 days later, i realized it was on. i went to turn it off and it wouldnt! so turned the tv on and the hdmi input said it had no outlet. I pressed eject and the game came out, but the screen wouldnt pop up on my tv, and i still couldnt turn it off. i pulled the plug on it and turned it back on and everything was fine but it scared the shit out of me….IMO i wouldnt do it

When you're processor heats up too much and stays hot for that length of time then you'll weaken the motherboard around it and YLOD you're PS3.

Why does it have to stay on that long? Can't you just turn it on when you want to play for a few hours, then turn it off again?
October 25, 2010 at 11:14 pm #67577monkeymoobsMemberyou could try placing your PS3 inside a fridge during this dust free and cool might actually work

My thoughts also? I'm guessing you can save everything you do?? What do you think is preventing you from getting the Plat. that you need to complete the whole game in one sitting?
If you use a guide and proper 'go for it' you should manage the game without to much hassle, no? Just listen to how hard your Ps3 is 'breathing'… If the fans are going mental it would be time for a switch off.
Why can't you just 'save and continue'?
October 25, 2010 at 11:43 pm #67582W4RG34R3D_SN1P3RMemberI would not reccomend it, but do it since Im curious as to what would actually happen.
October 26, 2010 at 5:13 am #67602alexyov1Memberno guys, Brutal Legend, has a well known issue, when you reach 70% on your progress, the save file gets too big and can't be loaded, i already finish the single player campaign on Brutal, just need the “Metal God” trophy which is 100% and some online trophies
October 26, 2010 at 10:37 am #67605Doc-BMemberCouldn't you save a file just before 70%, let's say about 65 or something, then do just the last part of the game/100% in one final push??
Instead of playing the whole thing in one go just play the last 40% in one go… Try getting the 'annoying' parts done and leave anything you know you can do easily for the last parts?
If you've already played the game yourself a couple of times then use a guide for your final game, speed things up?? All i can say is good luck whatever you try…

Lol Now thats good advice
November 3, 2010 at 6:06 am #67793shadeblackParticipantthink you'd be better off organising a day to do it instead.
other than that, think of the electric consumption used – and then your bill.

<hr /
well i have the plat and can honestly say i’ve never heard of this problem. as long you keep saving the sp even after playing online you should be fine. i would highly advise against leaving your ps3 on for a couple days let alone a week.November 3, 2010 at 8:28 pm #67807jogon15MemberCould you try copying the save into another account and testing to see if it wont load after 70%? If it won't just copy the other save back. I did this on MW2 because my offline account kept on getting corrupted. When it did I just copied the other save back.
November 3, 2010 at 9:26 pm #67808GHOST305MemberBad Idea…I got my YLOD because of that same reason. I use to play a game in the morning, then leave it on when I went to work or school so that I could come back and keep playing. Laziness got the best of me and now I've learned my lesson.
