September 21, 2009 at 3:54 pm #43497BigWoopMagazineMembertheres a demo you can try for the computer… go on their website to find it. I haven't tried that yet since I'm on a work computer and can't download to it. As far as I know its not out for PSN US yet, although it should be soon; it's only out in EU. Apparently it didn't pass the NA QA but passed EU QA, so we're just waiting on that… hopefully this thursday it'll be ready.
September 21, 2009 at 5:26 pm #43502x_D3adk0wn_xMemberi've played the PC demo a while back, and while it seems like it might be ok for a little while, the controls seem a little wonkey for a port to a console.. they seem a little too dependant on quick movement of a targeting recticle that seems like it would be a pain without a mouse.. i use a trackball on my main computer and i found the game pretty nasty to play, though i do play other games without issue.
the game appears to have taken a page from an old favorite of mine from 1996, “Abuse” where the character is moved with one hand (analog stick) and targets are aimed at with the other, like crash commando sort of, but feels like the “run and gun” style control doesnt fit somehow..
To be honest i kind of liked the demo until it got to a point where all three characters combined into one body like some sort of shape shifting constructicon, forcing you to swap back and forth between them like you did back in the days of “the Lost Vikings” .. so I guess that means i got past the character intro levels and then got horribly sick of it.
i would recommend to anyone planning on buying this to try the demo before you buy because of the hype
the demo is availible here: http://www.bigdownload.com/gam…..rine-demo/
and just for fun, Abuse is here.. dont worry its abandonware: http://www.abandonia.com/en/games/97
September 22, 2009 at 12:40 am #43545dizzel22MemberLooking at a trailer or some gameplay i can see how ppl may think that the curser is 'wonky' or hard to use , but it really isnt ,it's actually very simple , they have done a great job with it , imo the gameplay is the best part of the game
September 22, 2009 at 5:23 am #43565BdamacMemberim just going to wait until the game comes out cause right now i dont have my own computer

its a game where you have to control 3 different characters with uniquely different abilities (that change into one another at your will) to overcome obstacles and fight enemies whilst trying to reach a bigger goal.. what this goal is, i don't remember, but I'm sure it's important somehow..
the game begins with 3 tutorial levels where the characters are separately trying to get to the “trine” in the giant pile of gold and jewels in the center of the castle. and once they touch it they become fused together and from that point on they are never on the screen at the same time again, because as mentioned previously they now change into each other at your will to battle skeletons, swing from rafters, or move some boxes..
there is a knight, who has a sheild and sword.. he kills stuff
there is a wizard, who is frail and lazy.. he levitates junk (but in a bout of broken physics, CANNOT levitate things while he is standing on them.)
there is a Theif, who shoots arrows and can grapple/swing from stuff..
from what i've played, the game was kinda meh, but might be ok.. IF they manage to make the controls decently ok
September 22, 2009 at 4:02 pm #43593BigWoopMagazineMemberbroken physics? if he could levitate what he's standing on, he could levitate himself, and therefore just fly. And then what would be the point of the game, when the current objective is to figure out how to traverse the levels? Its called a gameplay mechanic.
September 23, 2009 at 11:56 pm #43807dizzel22Memberhe does have 1 tool he can levitate on but its hard to balance him on it and you dont get it til later in the game . It's a good thing he can't levitate because this game would be too easy ,well except the last stage .

i havent played the ful game as it still isnt released in NA, but reading the description of the Master Ninja trophy (“Complete 5 swings in a row to the same direction with the grappling hook”) it seems as though you have to use the theif and swing five times from the ceiling without touching the ground while keeping a forward momentum.. i.e., not swinging back and forth within the same bit of space, but start swinging a direction and keep going.. swing release grapple swing release grapple… and repeat..
sounds pretty straightforward.. unless its bugged?
September 29, 2009 at 12:42 pm #44331dizzel22Memberwoooooo got platinum , this is an awesome game .
