MemberYeah, that's right. I said it. I quit. I'm done. Uncharted 2: Among Thieves is the biggest disappointment of a game I've played in years. It's plagued with problems and pales in comparison to the original game. I'm on Chapter 22 and I am so beyond frusterated that even though I'm only four chapters away from completion, I'm putting down my controller and saying “screw you” to U2. Here's a list of why I dislike this title:
1) I'm on my third copy of the game. My first copy had screwed up cutscenes. My second copy kept freezing. This copy has worked just well enough to continue playing. It still has insane slow-down at times, though. Was Naughty Dog rushed on this game? It seems like the multiplayer runs smoother than the the single player mode and that's beyond sad to me.
2) The story is only so-so. Even though you hop all around the world in this title, the story isn't near as compelling as the story in the first game. The bad guys suck in this one, too. Oh, and speaking of bad guys;
3) WTF? Am I playing Killzone 3 or something? Seven-foot behemoths in unpenetrable armour with rail guns? Come on! Where's the realism of the first game? I understand trying to step up the difficulty level and all but this is ridiculous! Send these villains back to the future!
4) The controls are WAY too loose. I'm rolling off cliffs, getting stuck to walls, jumping in the wrong direction… it never ends!
5) Flynn and Chloe? Who the $%^& cares! Give me more Sully! At least Elena plays a decent role in here.
6) Chapter 2: the museum level. If I wanted to play this whole sneak-around-without-being-seen-or-restart-the-level crap, I'd rent Splinter Cell. Notice how I say rent? Yeah – that's because I loathe Splinter Cell.
7) I'm going to lose my voice from yelling at the screen. That's right. It's a legitimate reason. I haven't got this angry and frusterated at a game since I can't even remember when. Oh… and I'm scared I'm going to break either my controller or TV (or both).
8. And here's my final reason… the overall let-down of it all. I was so, so excited for this game. Uncharted was one of favorite games in a long time. Then this is what I got for a sequel. Sure, it has everyone's favorite wise-cracker Nate Drake, but it doesn't feel like Uncharted. Yes, it has its moments where I'm reminded of why I fell in love with this series, but for the most part, I don't feel like I'm playing what I was expecting to play (see reason 6).
I was going to go for a top 10 list but eight is all that's coming to mind right now. Probably because I'm trying to forget about all this. I still can't believe that this received higher reviews than the first game. It's inferior, in my honest opinion. Anyway, ranting makes me feel better so there you go. Hope you enjoyed that. I still don't feel all that great but oh well… maybe Modern Warfare 2 will help me forget all about this game. Hopefully.

This game shows the true power of the ps3
the story mode is PERFECT i love it
Online is great, really really fun.

Hey, man. To each their own. I won't argue that it shows off the power of the PS3. The graphics are gorgeous and the voice acting and music are top notch as usual. It's just everything else that I find has gone downhill from the first game. Oh, and by the way, hate is a pretty strong word. To say “dislike” is fine, but to use the word “hate”… yeah, I may take that too seriously.

i donno what part of the game your on about lol, but theres no 7foot tall behemoths with rail guns… however there is some abnormaly large beings with crossbows….

Memberto kill them guys with body armour all u need is 2 head shots one to take there hat of then one to hit them in the head or get a crossbow kills them in one shot
as for the rest of your comments i don't agree with you at all i think the story is fantastic and the gameplay has been greatly improved since the first one, in chapter 2 with the sneaking about it adds variety to a game instead of running through a level shooting people and its over

I'm not talking about the heavily armoured fellows with the shotguns, I'm talking about the guys who only pop up two or three times in the game who can only be taken out by rocket and grenade launchers. And maybe I was wrong about it being a rail gun. It's more like a giant machine gun that would be attached to a helicopter. Know which guys I'm talking about?

No problem, Domba. Honestly, it bothers me that I'm here giving this game a thumbs down. I was 100% expecting for this to be my game of the year, but sadly it was not to be. It's strange because I have more fun playing the multiplayer than the single player… and I'm a guy who usually doesn't give a care about multiplayer. That right there shows me that Naughty Dog put more time and effort into the multiplayer than the single player and that's upsetting because the Uncharted games should be a single player game first, multiplayer second. Heck, even the first update to correct glitches in the game was completely dedicated to multiplayer only. It's just too bad, you know? I played through the first Uncharted countless times and here I am not wanting to play through this one once. To say I'm disappointed is an understatement.

MemberFirst off , your just overreacting . Hating on the game wont make it any better , its just your luck , so why give NAUGHTY DOG the end of the stick because you just got unlucky . Behemoths ? Please , you rarely ever fight them , and when you do , theres always something preventing him from blowing you up . Chloe shooting the RPG ? Elena saving you from the car she hijacked ? And if you really gunna complain , keep in mind the times you do shoot one , YOU HAVE RPGS ! .
The sneaking mission , what did you think , its a heist , if you were going to be all bitchy from the start you were better ending there , did you complain when MacMillan and Cpt .Price sneaking around too kill thier target in COD4 ? Probably not , since its followed by action , same story pal . I cant be more edgy on how your saying the game is all over the place , sure your going to fall off mountains , roll off cliffs etc , but we all have , so welcome to the club . Uncharted 2 is fantastic , like i said , your either easy to tick off or just unlucky . By the looks of it , you yelled at your screen more on what .. your normal playthrough then my crushing .

Hey, all I did was start a thread stating my opinion based on my experience. You have your opinion and that's fine. Everyone is going to have a different opinion on every game out there. My opinion is that this game feels rushed and that it's inferior to the first game. If you don't agree with me, that's okay. Just don't come on here ripping me a new one because I decided to share my thoughts.

MemberI agree with danny-boii. That irritates me to no end. I can't even believe someone actually wasted time in making a thread that bashes U2. The game is one of the highest rated games out in the last year. It is a flawless game (story, gameplay, controls, graphics, audio, etc) Honestly reading that he had multiple copies either tells me he did just have a lemon product or his ps3 is starting to go down hill. The rest of the rants are just hilarious. I never once wanted to throw my controller. I never had any problems with the platforming/jumping. The behemoth rant was PRICELESS. I am still rolling over that one lol
Now to be real here. He did go against his own review on this:

MemberI say well done for voicing your opinion mate. It's quite refreshing to find someone that doesn't like Uncharted 2. Personally I think it's one of the best games available and it is these games that make me happy to be a gamer and own a PS3.
It's nice to know that not everyone has been brainwashed by the popular culture that is good games. I agree with some of your points but disagree with others, but I'm not going to let this get into an argument. Plain and simple, you get a well done from me!
