November 7, 2009 at 1:26 am #49252ideal4livingMemberok ive decided against this computer, not because i have a nurge to switch to baby computers (macs) but because i have read reviews, watched videos, and looked around for as much infromation as possible, and apparentley this model has the worst touchscreen every mdade, and every system sold has broken and has been refunded, so i think i will give it a miss 😛 instead im gettin a 600 quid gaming one from pc world… 6gb memory, 2x 750gb hard drives, 1.5gb graphics, looked around for this one aswell, looks good, and a great price, ther places are selling it for at minimum 800 quid. so this one it will be. its an acer, cant remember the name exactly, but it is in my favourites, so it is good, now can we stop commenting about macs and pc's, i have made my mind up!!!!

this saddens me…
1) don't go to pc world. they use inferior parts and overcharge. the qos and tech support is hardly worth its title.
2) don't go for acer either. they tend to brake down more often than other brands such as Asus.
3) your spec sounds alright… but what actually is it? 6gb ram, but what speed? 750gb hard drives? well are they at least sataII? and are they 7200rpm? or just 5300? 1.5gb graphics? well great it's got some ram on it, but again, what speed? GDDR2?, 3?, 5? what model? brand? ati or nvidia?
when buying a pc, you want to be absolutely sure you're getting your moneys worth. from experience, i'd advise you not to go to pc world. they're not tech savvy guys, they're just salesman.
November 7, 2009 at 3:46 pm #49286CoryAllenMemberso where would u suggest going shade?
November 7, 2009 at 3:56 pm #49289shadeblackParticipantif you can't build one yourself, go to an independant small business from your local highstreet.
they'll be much more knowledgable in the matter, and will try to get you the best deal for your price range.
if at all you're unsure, bring the specifications of the product to someone who knows a thing or two about it.
.
example: my friends all come to me when buying a new computer. one of my friends ignored my concerns about pc world and his pc has broke down 5 times in the last year.
November 7, 2009 at 4:39 pm #49273CoryAllenMemberhaha right on listen to the all knowing shadeblack lol
November 7, 2009 at 4:54 pm #49213parnakasMemberlol shade is always very helpful..
everyone keep in mind that the type of computer you buy depends on what you are planning on doing with it..
If your just going to go on Facebook and MSN 24/7 (like all the teen fags), then you dont have to get some huge computer with a high tech graphics chip or a lot of RAM.. you barely need anything.
If you want to do a lot of recording, editing, and more creative things (like me) then a MAC is definitely the best, the free programs built-in (Garage Band, iMovie, etc) are better than most of the programs that you have to buy..
If you want programming and what not, then i really cant comment, but i would say do not get a mac..
November 16, 2009 at 11:43 pm #50237czesionyoMemberAnyway… Whatever You will buy it will be old in about a year or so :D. Bst bet is to buy machine for things that U will do. If it's for games better get a console unles U want some MMO action. But for MMOs U don't need a power PC (not counting Age of Conan :D).
