Yes , Ladies and Gentlemen , its true , Avatar is the greatest movie of the decade , possibly of all time . Never have i been blown away in such way , that about halfway through the movie ( 2 Hours 30 Min ) it was an instant 5/5 stars . Its amazing , the plot is intense and well written ( Its James Cameron here ) and the action provided along side it is able to make it a flawless movie . Before i begin , lets take a look on James Cameron for those who have no idea who the hell he is ( If so , shame on you )
James Cameron is probably most well known for bringing the Terminator series to screen (excluding 3 and the most recent one , Salvation ) Hes also known for movies like Aliens , True Lies , The Abyss and now Avatar . Heres a little challenge , give me one bad title out of the ones given above with ATLEAST 3 supporting reasonable answers as to why the movie sucks , and you get a cookie .
Trying to stay away from spoilers , the plot is basicly about an injured soldier who loses all control of his limbs from a previous war accident . The protagonist ( Jake Sully a.k.a Sam Worthington ) is then introduced to the AVATAR program , a system allowing human beings to be transfered into the bodies of those little blue naked men running around . This is as far as i go , the plot gets much more in depth and that was just a piece of the cake … a huge ass cake. Like i said above , out of the hundreds and hundreds of movies i have watched in my time , ive never ever been blown away like this . The 3D also adds a great effect , for James Cameron has also broughten something new to the table once again , so do yourself a favour and pay the extra 4 bucks . Well ladies and gents , there you have it , my oppinion , and EVERYONE elses oppinion so far on the great , fantastic film .Watch it .
If you have seen the movie please feel free to tell me what you thought of it , but try to stay away from any spoilers as i did . Be safe , and happy holidays !

December 24, 2009 at 7:10 am #53618gow2rulesMemberi saw the movie last tuesday and agree with everything you say itcexpt the flawless part as the story is not really that original but holds the film up and he chose the worst song at the end
also he looks like he may have borrowed some stuff but these things always happen so it dosen't bother me

He also made a little known movie called Titanic
I'm lookin forward to seeing this movie, but at the moment they're charging like £10 to see it!!! I know its a unique experience that can't (currently) be replicated at home but that's still a chunk of change per person.
December 24, 2009 at 8:45 am #53621xxKnightmarExxMemberI was thinking that as well, how did you miss out Titanic, one of the most well known movies ever.

December 24, 2009 at 3:06 pm #53636pool96MemberWell after the 10 or so 5-star ratings I saw this movie get on the TV advert and W4rg34rd's “Movie of the Decade” phrase I am going to put this on my 'movie-to-watch' list. I am going to do the smart thing and stay away from the game adaption unless it gets some really, really good reviews.
The only gameplay I have seen of the game adaption is this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k_RQWdD2lasIt's some guys getting the “Iknimaya Clean Sweep” achievement.
December 24, 2009 at 3:33 pm #53638W4RG34R3D_SN1P3RMemberOh yeah … hehe Titanic . Sorry guys , i had just come back from the 7 pm show and the movie is close to 3 hours long . With those huge 3D glasses on , i just wasnt thinking right .
GoW – I saw alot of references in this movie to his previous ones , no wonder its taken him around 15 Years to make the damn thing . The Main bad guy totally reminded me of villian in The Abyss , Titanic was totally the love story , Terminator was just the total bad ass in the main character . I just cant believe how much i loved this film . Its nominated for Best Picture at the Golden Globes and hopefully for the Oscars aswell . I mean theres nothing out there thats actually a contender close to it .
December 24, 2009 at 3:42 pm #53642parnakasMemberYea, this movie was really good, but still… nothing beats Star Wars episodes 4 – 6!!
December 24, 2009 at 3:46 pm #53643W4RG34R3D_SN1P3RMemberHa , Return of the Jedi is still my favourite . Can you believe people actually started crying at the end ? I dont really think it was such sadness but more of a happy cry , since you know the ending you can know what im talking about . Its also the first movie in a couple of years where it got a STANDING ovation from the crowd , yes .
For those of you that have seen the movie , hopefully you werent to blind to see the real point out of the movie , and realise its about out environment and what we are clearly doing to it .

5-6, A New Hope bores me
yeah, i really wanna see Avatar, but i dont wanna go on my own and all my mates wanna see Sherlock Holmes…. and its not even out yet….
December 24, 2009 at 3:52 pm #53647parnakasMemberr23drummer – lol i think 5 is the best one.. just the whole story line itself though is so amazing.. and didn't take 15 years to make may i mention.. lol
Only movie im really looking forward to now, is the new Alice In Wonderland. Looks absolutely brilliant.
I also think that Titanic was Cameron's beset work.. this is second place though.. a very close second. I cried in Titanic, thats no lie, but not in this. I felt some scenes in this movie were more to show off the special effects, and didn't really have any impact on the overall story.
Oh and may i add – i felt like this was Pocahontas in 3D…
December 24, 2009 at 4:09 pm #53650W4RG34R3D_SN1P3RMemberJames Camerons Avatar did take 15 Years to make if thats what your talking about . It started around 1995 but ofcourse he couldnt do anything he wanted to because technology was way to far behind for his liking . So thats why after dishing out the money in Titanic he dissapeared for ages , what a great comeback he made .

technology was too far behind? Look at George Lucas… the man is way ahead of his time.. he found a way to make all those technological advancements, when the current technology at that time was not even close to that of Star Wars. But yes, i am happy that he made a comeback, i just felt that 15 years is a little long to make a Pocahontas clone in 3D.. lol
December 24, 2009 at 4:17 pm #53655W4RG34R3D_SN1P3RMemberGeorge Lucas was using mini models ! He took a chance and ofcourse it looked good , back then , because we had never seen it before . Now go watch a movie such as Iron Man and put it up against some flying model in the sky , yeah , i doubt James wanted that . He wanted it to be the best OF the best and so it is , i have never seen anything like his new technology and hes done the samething as he did with the T1000 in the Terminator 2 (which was also groundbreaking)
