i wanted to find the Rant thread so i can bust this guy, but i couldnt find it. So i will complain about him here..
Ok. 1. He is the ugliest looking dude ever!! his face is so damn squished in, and he looks very very dirty..
2. His “rap” music is stupid. I can not understand a word that he says. He sounds retarted, and his lyrics are weak as shit..
3. He has a “rock” album. WTF!!!!! This guy says he is a “beast” on guitar, so he makes a rock album. what an idiot. If your a “rapper” stick to rap. His rock album is so homo, and it pisses me off. With this “rock” album. we can clearly see what rock music will become. Good thing there are still some great bands (bedouin soundclash, alexisonfire, billy talent, foo fighters, few others..)
So, if anyone can tell why this man is making money, i would like to know.

Though I do agree with some of the previously stated opinions that some rappers have their head stuck very far up their ass, Lil Wayne as the main example in this particular forum, I have to disagree with the opinion of XeroTheGreat.
Yes, rappers get paid an insane amount of money for ,often, a completely worthless CD that pollutes the airwaves for weeks on end until they become replaced by an even greater imbecile in the Hip Hop Industry (who goes on to make a CD of equal or much more terrible quality, and the cycle goes on and on and on…).
However, not all rap is simply about chasing promiscuous women and stating the oh so many ways that they are the most hardcore bad-asses on the face of the planet because of their lifestyle. Some of the early rap from the '90s provided an interesting view into the rough world of the rappers from growing up on crime infested cities( Compton CA, South Central Los Angeles CA, Queens NY etc.), losing friends to gang related violence( Being the bystander in a drive-by shooting, victim of a murder rampage, killed in a robbery gone wrong etc.), amongst other things. When people listened to the lyrics and imagined that lifestyle, some began to appreciate their lives even more so for not having to live through that.
Rap that includes success stories sometimes(Heavy emphasis on “sometimes”) lifts peoples' spirits up by knowing that with hard work and opportunity, (mostly) everything is possible (if kept to a limited imagination, without thinking you'll one day own a mansion, private island, expensive cars etc.). Rap as well used to show the ignorance in some people (people aspiring to be rappers “Rock Superstar/ Rap Superstar by Cypress Hill”, people wanting to join gangs to show their toughness “Shorty Wanna Be a Thug by Tupac Shakur” and people who think they will get far in life [though not really]“. By showing the world what life is like when exposed and magnified, Rap became a respectable and popular form of music amongst the young generations (Early twenties adults to adolescents). That is my opinion about the matter of rap in society from the 90s to today.

I've been listening to Hip Hop/Rap since 1992 and I'm appalled as to what passes as hip hop today.
Hip hop was still a relatively new form of music back then and as such the majority of artists were musically (yes musically) creative and lyrically original and clever.
From 1992 to 1996 some of the best hip hop albums of all time were released:
* Dr Dre – The Chronic
* Wu Tang Clan – Enta The 36 Chambers (plus at least 4 albums from individual members of the group)
* Redman – Whut….Thee Album
* Notorious B.I.G. – Ready To Die
* Outkast – Southernplayalisticadillacmusic
I could go on but won't bore you.
Then it all came crashing down!!
Sean “Puff Daddy” Coombes who after years of being in the background brokethrough (ironically with being the Producer of the aforementioned Ready to Die album) with his radio friendly tracks that appealed to the masses (not just troubled inner city youths).
From there on out “Diddy” became bigger and bigger with imitation being the sincerest way of making money!!. As with anything popular more and more people jumped on and diluted it down to something barely recognisable from its original state.
And so now instead of making music to elevate and educate, Hip Hop today is about “club bangers” and to make matters worse even those I've listed above are making albums based on what sells (but then who can blame them, at the end of the day don't we all want to make a bit of money?).
About 99% of rap today is garbage but there are still a handful who are making albums for the love of the art form (Jedi Mind Tricks spring to mind).
And for those of you who's opinions are based on the Rap you've heard since the turn of the century I don't blame you for having negative opinions of the music, however, I can assure you it hasn't always been this way.
No its not the worst music ever if you look back at the history of the music, but yes I would agree that “artists” such as L'il Wayne and SouljaboyTellEm need to be strung up and publicly executed!!

Has anyone heard the type of music eminem sings?! He just keeps repeating the same shit and say random crap that has nothing to do with the words before it.

July 12, 2009 at 12:26 am #30191XeroTheGreatMemberOld Hip-Hop stuff like Outkast was OK. When I did say that all rappers should go to hell, i will admit that I was generalizing a bit. The rappers who show off their money and cars and the rappers who make complete and utter rubbish are the ones I meant.

I only listen to eminem 'cause i love the random crap he sings in his songs
July 12, 2009 at 10:23 am #30229ThickbrowMemberOld eminem was good. This new album kinda sucks.
As for Lil'Wayne, I like a few of his songs..but not enough to buy an albumn.
Why people like the junk which is comming out now is beyond me…I don't blame any of the artists for selling out, they can make more money by doing so. Listen to any popular radio station and they repeat the top 10 songs every hour!
I'm a fan of all types of music but as far as Rap goes some of my favs are:
old Eminem, Outkast, Lost Boyz (legal drug money albumn was the best!), Tupac, snoop dogg (even some of the new stuff, but the No limit top dog album was the best), UDI
