I've had this pre ordered since January
April 19, 2012 at 1:23 am #71619scotty243MemberGoing to rent it first, play through the campaign, try the multiplayer (hopefully no goddamn online passes!), and hopefully if the multiplayer (and single-player) is good I'll pick it up full price. Going to start doing this with Rockstar's games because L.A. Noire was ok and Red Dead was a disappointment but GTA V I'll just purchase instead of renting.
April 19, 2012 at 6:57 pm #71626emdeepeeMemberI'm still in two minds about whether to rent or buy. Can get it for a fairly decent price at the moment on pre-order but still struggling with my backlog.
April 27, 2012 at 7:09 pm #71640Doc-BMemberI'm looking forward to some of the darker moments in this game… Max is a pretty messed up dude I never actually finished the second game , it was a complete 'load fest'… And I only remember parts of the first, the darker sections… That being said I'm sure Max hasn't turned soft all of a sudden and found inner peace or something, and everything I've seen so far has been run of the mill pointy-pointy-shoot-shoot stuff… Hoping for some stand out fcuked up moments, Rock* are playing it cool if you ask me, I'll be devastated if I'm wrong
Hyped about all the in game tech that's being implemented, the use and transition of cut-scenes… Admitted it looks like a ton of stuff to go wrong but meh, I've got faith!

I hope the MP plays like Uncharted… I'm fond of the 3rd person view in the MP, feel it gives me a better picture of whats happening 180 degrees rather than tunnel vision… And it's gonna be popular enough to have some pretty decent traffic
Expecting a couple of patches to be flying in for this, if not a day1 Patch, but after watching some of the tech. demos I'm fairly looking forward to it, first game in a while… And, oh… What's this? I seem to have a weeks holiday at roughly the same time, that's rather handy

May 9, 2012 at 7:31 pm #71721Doc-BMemberI'm pretty undecided about the whole 'Pre-order MP pass' thing…

Nice to see rip-off Britain in full effect again. $30 or £24!!
Will get the game but not this pass
May 9, 2012 at 11:55 pm #71726Doc-BMemberI thought that at first… But is it really that bad??

Everyone forgotten about the 'Fortune Hunters Club' for Uncharted? I don't think it was as expensive but still? Would you buy a Special edition for £60 if it had the maps/skins/challenges/boosters as the SE content? I remember a Tiger Woods had £100+ worth of DLC available at launch one year…
I've read it's a 35% saving overall, and I'm not sure SP DLC would work for a game like this?? If the MP proves popular, as I hope that it does… Then supporting it with maps might not be the worst thing? It looks to be a reasonable amount of DLC on offer if your looking to keep the game and play the MP…
The MP modes look alright… And if it does play like Uncharted 'gang wars', or whatever it's called, looks like it could be pretty sweet? You do get 'skins' and 'challenges' along with the map packs It just does seem a lot of money for something that's not even finished yet…

And i didn't mention COD elite once
May 10, 2012 at 7:52 pm #71731emdeepeeMemberReading up on the MP it seems as though it's not your bog standard add-on but one of the games modes actually expands on the single player.
Plus you can carry your online stats etc over to GTA V. Certainly makes it more interesting but still can't justify the price tag for me.
Looking forward to seeing some reviews soon.
May 12, 2012 at 12:25 am #71747emdeepeeMemberJust noticed that they've dropped the price for the pass to £20 on the UK store. Looks like my whinging has finally paid off
May 12, 2012 at 5:33 pm #71750Doc-BMemberNice one emdeepee

Think I'm gonna go for this…
The main game's looking good, and I'm really looking forward to shooting people through the neck whilst jumping backwards in slow motion And it looks like it'll be a min 3-4 playthrough with the diff. difficulty trophies… So I'll have it a while anyway
I just hope the SP story is a decent length
May 12, 2012 at 7:27 pm #71752scotty243MemberI actually just want to play this game mainly for Max. Max on some of the trailers seems to be fighting for his life which is pretty surprising since he's pretty much depressed and a heavy drinker….. also with his family dead, what else does he have left . Multi-Player looks fun with everything looking balanced and cinematic.
May 13, 2012 at 8:13 am #71755emdeepeeMemberEven though I've managed to pick this up for £32 I still don't think I can justify spending another £20 on DLC.
I'm assuming that I'll still get access to some sort of MP anyway??
May 13, 2012 at 11:51 am #71756Doc-BMemberYou still get the four MP modes straight of the disc… I know it was wrongly reported by a couple of sites that the first DLC had three game modes with it but it was a mistake
The only thing the DLC will give you is maps, skins and challenges… You get deathmatch, Team Deathatch, Payne killer and Gang wars on disc… The Only MP Mode DLC is the 'New York minute co-op'… So it's all good
May 13, 2012 at 2:21 pm #71757emdeepeeMemberWell thats settled it then. Balls to the DLC, I'm gonna renew my subscription to Redtube instead
