Mirrors edge How the heck?

Hey all. I have been playing mirrors edge recently and have noticed something about trophies. Some people have platinum on this game that dont have some of the requirements it seems. I have been checking around looking at some peoples profiles on there after i log in to ea when I go to do some time trials and some people have ratings below 50 stars yet they still have the trophy for haveing a 50 start rating =\. There are some people also when checking the speed run times that show blanks across the board as though they hjave not even done the speed run,yet they have the speed run trophies. i dont get it=\. Is there some sort of hack thta people are using to get these trophies without having to actually do what is required to get them?

To be visible on EA's leaderboards you have to register with them and be online while you play. Me personally I didn't register with them so I'm not showing up there although I have the platinum and some good times.

i got a couple time trial stars offline , but they just disappeared , i had to take them again , and work hard on my plat , like i guess everybody else..

k Thats what I was guessing it was. Cause it really would have been sh!$%y to get platinum only to have it diminished due to there being a cheat to attain them.

1 other thing I cant understand though is. At the beginning of a time trial,how is it that some people can run faster in a straight line? AS soon as the time starts you hold forward which means everyone should run the same speed until at least the first obstacle or jump etc. Yet some people people just seem to start faster. Please tell me what I might be doing wrong lol. How can someone just hold forward better than someone else lol.

Although I've never been able to do it, there's supposed to be a little trick where you basically do a little jump to speed yourself up, or something. I'm not really sure how it works but every now and then I get a ghost that does.

Its confirmed.This is the most frustrating game I have ever played lol. And i dont get frustrated easily.

It is boggeling my mind. Here is the situation. I was trying to do chapter 2 speed run and was failing miserably,so I went to you tube to get some pointers and found something that really annoyed me.At the part where you go down into the big hole/drain thing and you push that button to open the big door,go through that one and there is another button to open the second door into the area with all the platforms. Well according to the videos I watched,when the person in the videos push that second button there time stops.Mine on the other hand keeps ticking away when I hit that button.Not just a few seconds either.Almost 40 seconds tick by while I am waiting for that 2nd door to open. Even in the videos there screen flashes like its going into a cutscene while they are waiting for the door to open and there time is flashing and paused like they are in a cutscene. I hit the button and and nothing happens =\. I sit there waiting(almost 40 seconds like I said) for the damn door to open.Now that pretty much makes that level as close to impossible as it gets lol.

So I am wondering what do I have to do at that spot to get my clock to stop like everyone else I see doing that level? Cause there is no where else in the level I can shave off almost 40 seconds to make up for it.

I have watched that video repeatedly and copied it exactly many times,but my time never pauses at that spot like in the video =\.

mate , time didn't stop for me either but i eventually got that speedrun. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gzU6BuAELkE , thats the chapter 2 speedrun on xbox , and as you'll see , time doesnt stop at that big door. check this guy 's speedruns , they're the ones helped me. maybe the pc version stops time , but you can get it anyhow.

PS this is a frustrating game , i almost smashed my dualshock into the wall several times , but as i really liked it , kept trying and got my second plat.

Time didnt stop for me at that door but i was able to get it and im telling ya im nothing special at this game , the only advice i got is youtube but even then there still reall hard but it helps
