MLB 09 The Show Trophy Guide

Hi, I am going to help you, for those of you who are struggling with this game! It is indeed a hard platinum. But I am going to show you how these trophies can easily be done. Although, I haven't platinum the game yet, but I am working on it now. I've got most of the trophies with 84%. OK, now here's the guide.

EDIT: I have platinumed the game now with 100% on November 7, 2009!

100% Clear (Platinum)

This is the platinum trophy and is unlocked automatically when all the trophies have been unlocked.

Self Explanatory… You earn it by unlocking all the other 29 trophies in MLB 09 The Show. It is one of the hardest game to platinum by far. It isn't like any other game where you platinum it in 2-3 weeks, it takes time and they are very time consuming.

The Salami (Bronze)

Hit a Grand Slam.

This is very simple, you have to just get 3 players on base and hit a home run or either hit it to the gap and run all the way inside the park home run. It can be done in RTTS, Season and Franchise. But it's easier to do it in season since you can manage and control everything than RTTS.

Walk off win (Bronze)

Have a walkoff hit or walk to win a game.

Very simple, just hit a home run or score a run or even a walk in the bottom of the 9th at your home team stadium with a higher score than the opponent team and you win the game and the trophy is yours.

Walk off in style (Silver)

Have a walkoff HR to win a game.

Same as above 'Walk off Win”, you can hit a home run and earn both of these trophies (Walk of Win and Walk off in style) at the same time.

Don’t Hit Me (Silver)

Throw a No Hitter vs. the CPU on All-Star or higher difficulty.

Play a game in Season and pitch one perfect inning or 1 out or every pitch (LOL… perfect inning is better each time) then save the game and quit. Also, make sure AUTO-SAVE is turned off so that way it won't mess up your no-hitter game. Then go back in and repeat the process over and over again.

Streaker (Team) (Silver)

Have a 10 game win streak in Season or Franchise mode vs. the CPU. Simulating or Fast Forwarding will restart the streak.

This trophy is also very easy. Just play Season or Franchise and play and win 10 straight games with your team. Some people who have a problem getting this is probably because you sim or fast forward, you have to do batting and pitching inning by inning for 10 games and the trophy is yours.

RttS Power Plays (Bronze)

Hit 2 HR in a single RttS game on All-Star or higher difficulty.

In RTTS, use your batting player and keep trying after one game after the other on all star and hit 2 home runs… its better off if you have your batting attributes full and maxed out and it will be alot easier for you.

RttS In Control (Bronze)

Strike out 10 batters in a single RttS game on All-Star or higher difficulty.

In RTTS, use your pitching player and strikepout 10 batters and one again its much easier if you have your pitching attributes full and maxed out and it can be done in a few games.I recommend you doing this with a weak or a team that loss alot so you can easily get them out.

Make the Call (Bronze)

Get called up to the MLB team.

In RTTS, get called up to the MLB with your RTTS player. You will make it to the MLB once your RTTS player has improved over the years, you can get this trophy just by simply simulating the games and seasons. WARNING: Simulating the games will cause your RTTS player to decrease their attributes if they arent arent updated within 3-4 weeks. So, update it beforehand and you will be fine and keep simming 3-4 weeks each and update your RTTS player training points and attributes.

Stop Thief! (Bronze-Hidden Trophy)

Steal 3 bases in a single RttS game.

This is very simple. Just give trainining points to your RTTS player on the speed attributes and also if you want you can change the sliders with the baserunning and you will get this trophy easily. Every time you get a hit go for single base in a game and then try to steal 2nd and 3rd and again one more time when you get your hit again! TIP: Most of the time, stealing 2nd with your attributes full works, but stealing 3rd work half of the time because of the length and time the catcher throws it. It's a little bit farther and more time if the catcher throws to 2nd than 3rd.

RttS Streaker (Batter) (Bronze)
Have a 10 game regular season hitting streak in Road to the Show. Simulating games in which your RttS player appears will restart the streak.

Very easy, just turn off AUTO SAVE in the option menu and go to your RTTS batter and make sure you hit at least once in each game and you will get the trophy. It is the same for the 20 hitting and 50 hitting streak. Do 50 straight hitting streak games and you will get all the hitting streak trophies!

RttS Streaker (Batter) (Silver)
Have a 20 game regular season hitting streak in Road to the Show. Simulating games in which your RttS player appears will restart the streak.

Hit 20 times straight at least once in each game.

RttS Streaker (Batter) (Gold)
Have a 50 game regular season hitting streak in Road to the Show. Simulating games in which your RttS player appears will restart the streak.

Hit 50 times straight at least once in each game.

RttS Streaker (Pitcher) (Bronze)
Have a 5 game regular season win streak in Road to the Show. Simulating games in which your RttS player appears will restart the streak.

It is the same with the hitting streak but in contrast its just pitching 5 straight games with your RTTS player. And earn all of the Pitcher RTTS streaker trophies by pitching 15 straight games.Make sure once again trun off AUTO SAVE.

RttS Streaker (Pitcher) (Silver)
Have a 10 game regular season win streak in Road to the Show. Simulating games in which your RttS player appears will restart the streak.

Win 10 straight games with your RTTS pitcher.

RttS Streaker (Pitcher) (Gold)
Have a 15 game regular season win streak in Road to the Show. Simulating games in which your RttS player appears will restart the streak.

Win 15 straight games with your RTTS pitcher.

RttS Added Value (Silver)
Win any Award in RttS. (MLB only).

As you can see, you can only get this trophy if you're in MLB with your RTTS player and get any award in RTTS. Whether your pitching or batting, doesn't matter you can get any awards that are there in MLB 09. Just play well and you will get it. Or you can just simulate the games 3-4 weeks update training points until the end. At the end of the season, you will be awarded with an award and this trophy.

RttS MVP (Gold)
Win the MVP award in RttS (MLB only).

This is only for RTTS batting, you have to be really good and hit a lot of HRs and RBIs and the trophy is yours. You can get RTTS added value too if you get this trophy.

RttS The Cycle (Gold)
Hit for the Cycle with your RttS player.

This is very easy if you know how to bat well in a single game and hit the ball to the gap (the wall). All you have to do is get a single 1B, a double 2B, a triple 3B, and a homerun HR in a single game. It is much easier if your RTTS batting attributes are all full. Most of time you are at-bat 4-5 times. If, failed try again, game after game and you will eventually get this.

Personal Perfection (Gold)
Throw a perfect game on All-Star or higher difficulty using your RTTS player.

I am guessing this is the hardest trophy for this game and it's very frustrating especially trying to pitch a full 9 inning game perfectly. If it works for you, KUDOS to you) EDIT: I tried the second time and it worked because you have to make sure that your team did not commit any errors throughout the whole game! If you can't get this trophy then try doing it in spring training and perfect 3 innings each time until you get the trophy. This is something I came up with, I haven't started yet… LOL… But I will after I finish all other trophies for this game.

Net works (Bronze)

Win 5 online games.

Just win 5 online games with a friend or whomever you like!

Major Leaguer (Silver)
Join and complete (must play 60% or more games) an online league.

When I was trying to get this trophy, it was hard to find a league since they were all full. So, my friend came up with an idea to create 5 other fake psns and have them join all in and start and league and then go to the host and have him drop your player or all of them if you want and then you will get this trophy. WARNING: The host who created the leauge CANNOT earn this trophy.

Online Legend (Gold)
Win an online League (must play 60% or more games).

Follow the same steps as above join a league with 5 fake psns you created and activate the league and each time the series countdowns to zero, have the host resolve the unresolved games and give the win to whomever you want and wait the next day and do this 6 times since there are minimum 6 games altogether. You don't have to play a game or anything, just wait for the time to go down. That's how me and my friend did it.

It takes time (Hits) (Bronze)
Get 1000 hits in any combination of modes.

Just get 1000 hits IN any modes like Season, RTTS, franchise, etc…

It takes time (Strike Outs) (Bronze)
Strike out 500 batters in any combination of modes.

Just get 500 strikeouts IN any modes like Season, RTTS, franchise, etc…

It takes time (RBI) (Bronze)
Get 1500 RBI in any combination of modes.

Just get 1500 RBIs IN any modes like Season, RTTS, franchise, etc…

It takes time (HR) (Bronze)
Hit 300 Homeruns in any combination of modes.

Just get 300 HRs IN any modes like Season, RTTS, franchise, etc…

The “IT TAKES TIME TROPHIES” can be achieved using 2 player controllers if you have two… You can play with your friend locally and keeping hitting and striking out until you get all the 'it takes time' trophies, but not online (it does not count towards online games) BE PATIENT as this trophy already says, it takes time. THE RBIs one takes more time than the other ones.

It happens to everyone (Bronze-Hidden Trophy)
Lose 100 games.

Lose 100 games in any modes. Just play every RTTS game which is much faster or contract with a weak team that loses a lot and play each game and it will be counted as a loss if you play the game and lose! Simulating will not get you this trophy.

Managerial (Bronze)
Win a Manager Mode game. Can be completed in Manager Mode, Season and Franchise.

Just start up the manager mode and keep pressing X until the game is over and your team gets the win and the trophy is yours.

Shut em’ out (Bronze)
Throw a Shut Out vs. the CPU on All-Star or higher difficulty.

This trophy can be earned at the same time as doing the trophy “Don't Hit Me”. Just turn AUTO-SAVE off and pitch inning by inning and save and quit … repeat the process and you get this trophy along with the no-hitter one.
