I think tons of people will go watch it, but not necessarily enjoy it. Its sort of like Max Payne. I went and watched it, despite the fact that Mark Walberg sucks (which he totally did once again in this movie). Why did I go? Because Max Payne 1 and 2 both had great story lines, and I was praying that they did it justice in the movies. They did not. I expected that, but was actually floored at just how flat the acting was, it was that bad.
Call of Duty doesn't even have a great story line in the first place. Its ok, enough to motivate you to shoot the enemies in the game, but we all know thats not where the glory of this game lies. In fact, the characters you play as are dimensionless and flat, with literally zero personality in the game. You're just some guy in this situation. They did that on purpose since the focus is on multiplayer in these games. A CoD movie is just going to be another war story with that name tacked on. Every fan will go see it because of the name, and most likely be dissapointed in the end. However, someone will make a lot of money along the way, and thats really the only reason this conversation is happening in the first place.
@Parnakas – I'm ashamed to say it, but you're right. The only reason I bought WaW was because at the time, I just wanted more CoD. What a sad mistake I made. In no way did I want another WW2 game, I just wanted more levels, and ended up being dissapointed in every possible way. Oh well, live and learn.
If they are going to make a movie the will chance the characters personality
