'Killer Elite'.
Not a bad movie and well worth the watch. It didn't do anything too original but kept me interested throughout. I think my only complaint was with the audio. There was a muffled quality to a lot of it and it felt like it had been recorded in a studio and just dubbed over the original edit. Really noticable during some of the conversations.
And while I enjoy Jason Statham as an action man, does anybody else think his best roles were in 'Lock, Stock…' and 'Snatch'?

I liked it alot but it's definitely NOT as good as M:I:III in any way.
Saw The Raid: Redemption a week or two ago? Anyways, just a great film and pretty tense at some parts. And while the story wasn't really present, the little snippits of it that were there were actually pretty interesting and kept me wondering what was going to happen next. Oh, and don't get me started on the ending scene. Just BADASS in every way.
September 7, 2012 at 12:50 am #72274scotty243MemberSaw Daybreakers on TV the other day. Pretty cool concept and I guess original? But probably not for those who have probably read I Am Legend The film has a lot going for it with some recognizable actors/actresses but it never came together for what it was originally going for with such a cool concept? Some (or should I say all) of the special effects looked like pure shit and was questioning was it one of those SyFy movies (and it was on SyFy ) that are just time passers, like how this film was. Oh, and I kinda figured but looked it up in the end that the budget for this film was chunk change in Hollywood. This film could've been much more and better if they got some more money and more of a “scale”.
It's the pure, straight up definition of a rental in every single way. It's cool, I guess?
September 29, 2012 at 6:04 am #72376scotty243MemberFinally saw both Heat and Black Hawk Down and I must say, what excellent films they are! Both had me on the edge of my seat with it's tense action set pieces and characters I was rooting for. Hopefully there's a good price on the blu-ray versions of each film. These are definitely classics!

The first time you've seen them?! How have you been wasting you life up to this point? Both of those are masterpieces and you're in luck, they've been on bluray for ages (BHD was one of the first to be converted) so you should have no trouble picking them up for almost nothing.
I went to see 'Lawless' last night. I'd seen very mixed reviews of it but I thought it was excellent. Not nearly enough Gary Oldman but plenty of Guy Pierce who has to be the most hatable villain since Geoffrey in Game of Thrones

I don't normally get too wound up by what I see on TV, but that little fcuker really grips my shit. In the unlikely event I was to see him walking down Brecon High Street I may have to stick one on him!!

I've seen snippits from time to time but never the full thing. Way better (and longer!) than the shit that hits theaters these days.
October 2, 2012 at 5:06 am #72393HardAndSloppyMemberJust saw Dredd, it was very intense. Just as brutal as it should have been.

Man that'll look good next to my Terminator Salvation head…
October 13, 2012 at 3:07 pm #72408scotty243MemberSaw Prometheus and Grave Encounters 2. Thought Prometheus was great and probably one of my favorites of this year where as GE2 was an awful mess.
The first GE was OK until it went all bullshit towards the ending. GE2 offers up a LOWER budget (I mean, we're talking chuck change in Hollywood), terrible acting, and a boring as shit “experience” but I do have to admit, some of the creativity in the film was cool but nothing to brag about. Ugh… Time to watch Lovely Molly, and probably The Pact afterwards
October 14, 2012 at 9:05 pm #72417scotty243MemberWatched The Expendables 2, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, and Lovely Molly yesterday.
Expendables was a surprise as I wasn't a fan of the first that much and expected this to be shit but I was engaged and actually felt bad for how the story set up (y'know what I mean ). The action never felt like it was too much and actually had me chuckling and laughing out loud during parts of the film consistently.
Abraham Lincoln sadly did not live up to the hype I set for it but it's a great film, not the best of '12 like I was hoping. The first 20-30 minutes are a drag filled with shit dialogue but after that, I was certainly hooked and intrigued with what was happening. Some of the action set-pieces were off-the-rails spectacular and had my jaw dropping at times. The slow-mo action scenes (all the action scenes) were just superb to watch and made the film more badass. Zack Snyder needs to take some goddamn notes on how to do slow-mo!!
Last but not least, Lovely Molly. This film sucks DICK. Stay away, hell, don't even read the last part of this post, it's that damn bad. Horrible, shit, terrible, I just don't have the ***NO PROFANE LANGUAGE PLEASE*** words to describe this atrocious piece of shit. It's not the worst film I've seen, but it's definitely horrible. This film is catagorized as a horror film but the only thing horrible about it is realizing the amount of time wasted on this!!
October 17, 2012 at 3:13 am #72422HardAndSloppyMemberHere Comes the Boom. I honestly thought it was gonna be a huge piece of crap. Turned out to be really good. It is not original at all, but it does everything right.
