Just introduced my daughter to Who Framed Roger Rabbit?
Ground-breaking movie that had more adult humour (and language) in it than I remember. Classic

January 29, 2013 at 3:34 am #72846I773D33MABL3MemberI watched The King's Speech tonight. I'd been avoiding it for a while as I wasn't sure I'd enjoy it but it entertained me throughout.

Also started up The Bourne Legacy which should've been called The BORING Legacy as I immediately shut it off 40 minutes in. I couldn't help but stand up and walk around my house since the plot was either nonexistent or just uninteresting with some lazy script writing, I thought.
So true, dude. But if you stuck around for another half hour, you would've seen the new Bourne actually doing Bourne stuff! Film just felt like a muddy imitation of the last 3 and since it really doesn't tie anything up or go anywhere particularly interesting for future movies, it's just better if everybody forgets this movie exists. A quest for drugs led by a dumb asshole guy with above average abilities (THAT ARE NEVER USED UNTIL THE LAST PART) and his companion, dumb bitch scientist will do everything wrong until they get to the unsatisfying conclusion. Based on a book that had a completely different story, characters, and NO events from the movie, it's The BORING Legacy! Don't see it! Especially if you want to!

I got pretty bored yesterday and went browsing for a movie to watch and then I saw Platoon on Blu-Ray. I remembered your post and it was radical. “Dance, motherfcuker, dance!!!”
February 27, 2013 at 1:29 am #73006scotty243MemberWatched the V/H/S the other night since the Sundance bloggers and whatnot haven't shut up about the damn film!! Any who, I enjoyed what I saw however I must say, it was a bit too… short? Out of the 5 tapes shown in the film, there was may 2 or 3 that were really well worth my time with tape 4 being one that may actually be the first to have me scream out loud, during the day, in my house It's interesting and I'm definitely anticipating the sequel since it's… cool?
Not only was V/H/S good, however Flight was unexpectedly good as well. While the film may be receiving a little bit too much praise, I actually did enjoy it but I couldn't help but scratch my head as to why “Gimmie Shelter” by the Rolling Stones kept playing in the background? Didn't have any problems with the film however Denzel Washington's accent is just too damn hilarious And surprisingly, the ending of the film was pretty good, which is usually where a film falters for me *Sinister*
April 5, 2013 at 10:12 pm #73152scotty243MemberSaw ARGO a few weeks back and actually quite enjoyed it. It wasn't as good as I wanted it to be, however Affleck knows how to keep the viewer interested. I'm not going to talk about the film much however it's definitely a highlight of '12, I think? I wouldn't go as far as to say that one of the last scenes was “suspenseful as shit”, since it really wasn't, but it was cool.
Stoked for EVIL DEAD later!! It surely won't let me down!!
*Gets back from the theather. Writes 5 page long non-sensical rant on how poor it was while everyone else enjoyed the film*

Welcome to the club!
Saw EVIL DEAD a few weeks back – A day after release, I suppose? What a ***NO PROFANE LANGUAGE PLEASE*** disappointment. I actually thought it would be something – It had everything going for it: dark tone, actual practical effects for gore, good producers behind the project, etc. I was completely bored throughout the entire film with its cheap jump scares and shit. Everything shown in the red band trailer is basically the entire film (or at least all the “decent” parts, and I mean decent loosely). The gore for me wasn't much, nor was it actually cool – It actually felt a lot like Mortal Kombat. It's cool at first, I guess? Then it becomes numbing after a while to the point where it's just tasteless.
Waste of time, waste of money (no matinee?! ), just a waste overall.
April 19, 2013 at 8:00 am #73182Frederick_PlaystationMemberSaw Brokeback Mountain…No comment.
and Argo weeks ago – pretty good i guess
April 28, 2013 at 11:36 pm #73239scotty243MemberSaw The Place Beyond The Pines yesterday morning (9:30 AM showing) and wow. I told Em that this would be my biggest post yet, but goddamn, there's no words to describe how much I ***NO PROFANE LANGUAGE PLEASE*** loved this movie. It's brilliant in almost every way with it's stellar cast, ballsy and important script, as well as great cinematography and score. The 2 hours and 20 minutes I spent watching this film have to be some of the best time I've spent in a theater in my entire life. I don't want to give much away, but there were several scenes in this movie that made a little tear come to the eye. Everything in the film is tied up towards the end, no loose ends or crazy plot twists from nowhere. No nonsensical plot introductions or anything. This is masterful of it's genre and should be an example of how to create a masterpiece.
Just do yourself a favor and savour this layer of love. This is definitely high up on my list for the best, if not the very best. I'll be eagerly anticipating the blu-ray release of this film. Just see it… There's… I don't… It's perfection on a whole new level
Just see the movie and you'll understand why there are no words for me to describe it. Beautiful, just beautiful
April 30, 2013 at 9:27 am #73250emdeepeeMemberSaw Iron Man 3 last night and whilst it didn't quite hit the heights of Avengers it was entertaining enough. Some witty one-liners and tidy set pieces (although at some points it does feel like you're watching a video game game cut scene).
RDJ not quite as cock-sure in this one and the twist about half way through felt a little odd (to me anyway).

Hopefully it's not a cutscene from that god awful Iron Man 2 videogame. I'm not alone in saying that one or two cutscenes literally put me to sleep .
