Hey, peeps!
Just wanted to pop in here to help spread the word on an upcoming horror flick that's being shot in my home town of Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada. The film is entitled Quiver, and it was written by me. I will also be co-producing it through a new film company in my area, Still Frame Entertainment.
Auditions are all ready to go beginning next week with a shooting dates scheduled to start at the end of September and into October. To say I'm extremely excited would be an understatement!
The film revolves around a young couple (Rudy & Claire) who, while camping in a remote area, run into a new species of insect. The insects (in this case, mutated ticks) hunt and stalk the couple and they go through hell trying to escape.
A real Web site is just around the corner, but as for now, you can find the film on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/pages/QUIVER-the-film/444957805544?ref=ts or on MySpace at http://groups.myspace.com/quiverthefilm.
If you're a member of those social sites, I'd really appreciate you joining and follow along. Spread the word, too! I certainly appreciate the support.
Thanks!
– Ken

August 28, 2010 at 1:58 am #65921parnakasMemberWell, I don't have Facebook or Myspace. But I would be more than happy to support a fellow Canadian filmmaker. I don't think Canadian Independent Films get enough credit around here. So I would definitely support this.
I'll spread the word around for this movie. Keep us posted!
August 28, 2010 at 2:06 am #65923tridonMemberThanks a lot, guys. I really appreciate it!
@ GHOST305
The ticks are mutated from a chemical explosion, so they grow in size and they grow hungrier. Plus, ticks are creepy all by themself. It's something that burrows itself into your flesh. Tell me that's not gross. 🙂

Ahh the mutation part makes sense now…You are correct in saying that ticks are creepy by themselves. I've always hated those things. Everytime no matter how hard I try to not get one while going into the wilderness…I always do…, and they're a pain to remove too.
August 28, 2010 at 5:32 pm #65931NinjacatMemberWell I liked it on facebook, not just because it's you making it, but because it sounds pretty good!
I'd like to see it once it's done!
August 28, 2010 at 5:39 pm #65932tridonMemberYeah, exactly! Ticks are little a-holes! In this flick, they're a-holes who will seriously F you up! LOL.
Thanks a lot for joining and following along. We plan to be 100% finished the film next spring with screenings beginning around here and at multiple festivals. I'm sure by the fall of 2011, we'll have DVDs and Blu-rays out.
August 28, 2010 at 5:40 pm #65933tridonMemberAlso… I'm not necessarily asking any of you for a donation (unless you'd like to, of course), but if you know anyone else who'd like to help invest in a horror film, please feel free to share this link:

This is not going to be a cheap project, and ALL help is extremly appreciated! Also, the more you put in, the more perks you receive! 🙂
August 28, 2010 at 5:58 pm #65935parnakasMemberTridon – I will share that link to try to get some donations. I would donate myself if I had some freaking money This really does sound cool, and I wish you all the best of luck!
Also, DVDs and Blu-Rays? I'll definitely be buying those put one blu-ray on reserve for me.

August 31, 2010 at 4:29 pm #66078tridonMemberThanks for sharing that link, Parnakas. Some donations would really help because these things are NOT cheap to make at all. Also, I'll keep you updated on whenever DVDs and Blu-rays are available. I think we might even be making a limited run of HD-DVDs for the hardcore fans out there.
As far as Paranormal Activity goes, we're really hoping it gets enough word of mouth like that film did. We'll be entering Quiver into the same film festival where PA was noticed, so you never know. I personally liked PA, though. In fact, if you go through the credits slowly at the end, you'll see my name in there. Bought the Blu-ray just to see my name is high definition. LOL.
September 1, 2010 at 12:08 am #66097parnakasMemberJust to see your name? LOL!! Win. I probably would too! HD-DVDs? Yea um.. scrap that Blu-Ray all the way man. Especially if its a dark movie, I find Blu-Ray really helps me see whats happening in the darkness of it all, whereas with DVD it could seem blurry to me at some points.
And oo if its gonna be at a film festival I'll be there to see it! I love going to those. I'll definitely try to spread the word more. I have already shared the link a bit. I'm gonna spread it as much as i can. Soon everyone who knows about Parnakas will know about Quiver.. it will be like.. Quivakas. LOL sorry. Had to say it..
Btw, I forgot to say this earlier.. Quiver is a really great name for a movie like this! Great job!
