is their an inspiration for this movie have a fear of ticks or something or is it just a random idea
September 1, 2010 at 4:18 am #66102HardAndSloppyMemberI would also like to buy this movie when it comes out. I love independant horror movies except for PA. That was a sh!t movie. Keep us posted on the date of release.
September 1, 2010 at 12:47 pm #66108tridonMember@ Quivakas… I mean Parnakas!
Thanks for the support, man! I was pretty happy about the title, too. I actually created the entire film around the title alone. That was my muse. I knew I wanted to make this a creature feature and I knew it was going to be called Quiver. That's all I had and I ran with it. So far I've had nothing but positive reviews for the script (a perfect nine for nine so far), so I must've did something right!
I never really had an inspiration, no. Obviously ticks are disgusting and nobody actually likes them, and I knew I wanted some kind of mutated insect in this, so I just went with that. I suppose while I wrote those, my inspiration was to make a fun, psychological, sure-to-be-cult-hit horror film like the ones from the '80s. I love The Evil Dead and old flicks like that, so that's what really lead me to my man- versus-creature-in-the-wilderness premise.
Thanks a lot for the support! I'll definitely keep you updated. Once filming is complete, I'm sure one of the first things we edited together will be a trailer, so I'll give the link to that here when it's ready!
September 7, 2010 at 8:05 pm #66293tridonMemberJust a few very exciting updates…
1 — We just had a promoter sign on! He read the script, and he loved it. He compared it to the campy horror flicks of the '80s and said that he wants to promote it. He even went as far as to compare it to The Evil Dead!
2 — I have now had eleven different people read the script and if this was Rotten Tomatoes, I'd have a 100% right now. More than half the readers are people that I don't know, so this is definitely good news as we go into filming!
3 — We had a good show-up last week for our two evenings of auditions. We currently have three set for this week (one being tonight) and a huge list of attendees.
4 — Our local radio station made an announcement regarding Quiver last week and that made me quite ecstatic.
5 — Our Facebook fan page has boosted up to 104 fans.
6 — Our ad on Kijiji has had over 1200 hits and we now have people worldwide writing in interested in taking part in the film.
That's it for now! Lots of good, happy news for yours truly!

Thanks, man. I'm not getting my hopes up, but since I've had 100% positive reviews on the script, it'd be nice if the film could get accepted into several film festivals. All it takes is the right person to see it, right? If the weather can hold up here long enough to complete the shoot, everything should be peachy (but insanely hectic) from here on out!
Thanks, dude! I appreciate all the support and word of mouth, so really, thank you! 🙂

Thank you, bud! I really don't care if it's only for $1. That's $1 more than I had before, right? But yeah… thank you! Be sure to keep your eyes out for your name in the credits when it's released! 😀

Thanks, Finchy! Love the new alias, BTW! I'm going to have Tenacious D in my head for a while now. Hey… where's young Nasty Man? LOL.
Well, I guess that'll only be funny for you if you know what I'm talking about. Thanks again!
September 23, 2010 at 1:08 pm #66810tridonMemberJust a friendly bump with some more exciting news!
1 — We've now completed three weeks of auditions and we've found at least half our cast. We're going to be holding a couple more casting call days in hopes of finding the rest of our characters. Apparently there isn't many male actors in this city interested in acting in a film.
2 — We've made “handshake” deals with two artists to include their music in the film. Jean-Paul De Roover is a local musician who's a one-man-band and one helluva talent. He'll be going on a Southern Ontario tour beginning this week so anyone down there should definitely check him out. His Web site is http://www.jeanpaulderoover.com/. The other band is an upcoming metal band from the States, Lost Autumn. They definitely perform some pretty awesome stuff, so be sure to check them out as well at http://www.myspace.com/lostautumn.
3 — Storyboards are going along well. We've decided to postpone shooting the film to May 2011 as it'd be too much of a rush to try and shoot before the quick-approaching winter season. This is perfect though because now we can take our time to set up a high-quality film that'll not be overlooked come festival time.
4 — We're still looking for donations at http://www.indiegogo.com/QUIVER. We're now offering perks such as DVD and Blu-ray pre-orders, collectible swag, chances to appear in our next film or have a character named after you, producer credits and the opportunity to travel with one of us to festival. Every little dollar helps so if possible, please give us a hand. Your name will appear in the credits of the film for only $1!
Thanks everyone! I'll update soon!

September 30, 2010 at 3:52 pm #66903tridonMemberHey, everyone! Nothing to really report at the moment, but I would like to take this opportunity to not only bump this thread but thank the three people from this forum for their donations. I really, really appreciate and you can be guaranteed that you'll see your name in the credits of QUIVER when it's completed.
March 21, 2011 at 7:48 pm #69331tridonMemberHey… what up, peeps?!
So, as you've probably noticed, I've been considerably absent from these forums for a while now. The reason for that is because things are picking up BIG TIME! We just completed auditions two weeks ago and we're currently in the casting process. On top of that, we have set up locations and dates for rehearsals as well as setting up a venue for May to put on a fund-raiser concert. Things are definitely looking up for yours truly. The only downside is that I've hardly been able to game it up at all! LOL! I'm only on the third chapter of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow after playing for a month now. Yeah, time is definitely dwindling. Anyway, just wanted to pop in and say “HI” to anyone who's missed me! Also, please feel free to join the QUIVER (the film) fan page at Facebook as well checking out http://www.still-frame.com and http://livitski.tumblr.com for more updates! Thanks everyone… I'll try to pop in again sooner rather than later!
