windows 3.1 – was hilarious
windows 95 – was stable, but offered almost nothing.
windows 97 – didn't exist – it was a modified 95.
windows 98 – was the most stable version of windows.
windows 2k – was supposed to be a revision of 98, but failed. it did offer a better structure though.
windows ME – was the reject of everything.
windows xp – was the best thing to happen to windows and offered the best of the best. Because of this, it was the prime target of nearly all viruses, spyware and malware. XP also allowed for serious gaming, better CPUs and much more modding.
windows vista – is a quick revision of XP, where vista meaning “view” got it right because vista is a nice looking version of XP.
Windows 7 – is what Vista is supposed to be, but microsoft thought they could make more money by publishing vista before it was done.
What really takes the biscuit in these types of threads, is that all the MAC owners are constantly saying how bad windows and PCs are, when in fact they never backup their claims with any evidence. they never explain themselves.
Whereas most PC owners tend to have valid reasons as to why they don't use MACs.
~this irritates me.
May 21, 2009 at 5:04 pm #26408BigWoopMagazineMemberI think I should have been more specific. PCs are cool. Windows sucks. big difference between the hardware (Mac vs PC) and the Operating System (windows vs linux vs whatever the hell macs run). I hate windows as much as anyone, especially vista, and prefer to run linux. however, linux can't support EVERYTHING I need,,, so I'm forced to use windows from time to time. Primarily for games, and certain mods. Usually I try to force a DOS run, but for some reason certain games just love to be launched from windows.

i've told you my reason, MAC is more organized, stable, faster, and i love how the recording softwares run on it, built-in mic is very good quality, built in web cam is good quality. And overall, i feel the MAC is just more reliable.
I just cant stand Vista, its a huge mess.
May 21, 2009 at 11:38 pm #26433Atomic-GMemberi just find mac more user friendly than windows it also has everything built in it doesnt break down or freeze it also just in my opinion seems to be more stable to control for some reason i find windows your always sorta siting at the edge of your seat when the computre freezes thinking to yourself oh s**t whats happened now where mac i never seem like that well that my opinion i know it not eally that explained just i really cant be bothered to be in a discussion about this since these sorta things always seem to go to a petty argument and it get worse from their

okay, those are good reasons! of course, all of them can be argued with.
I'm just saying i don't really understand why there is this whole stupid war of PC v MAC. like my original post, I don't see the point of comparing when they clearly do different things.

Being an IT Tech, I have never had a PC that I own freeze up on me, nor do I get viruses (for very long anyway). It's impossible to not get them, but when I do, I know how to deal with them. I've had… maybe two in the last year.

this is not true.
new viruses are being made all the time. anti-virus companies need to keep updating against new threats, but it's impossible for them to prevent virus attacks.
Especially when most of the time it's silly people who download the virus (without knowing of course) onto their computer in the first place.
Internet Security and Anti-Virus programs are PREVENTITIVE measures against viruses and spyware. Although they do have scanning engines and such, once you've got a virus on your computer (especially a virus that knows what it's doing, or is left untreated), your PC is best suited for a Format.
