February 20th 2013
February 1, 2013 at 7:43 pm #72878emdeepeeMemberPersonally I think it's for Move 2
Joking aside indications are strongly pointing towards PS4. Question remains on the release date. Best get some overtime in!!!!
February 1, 2013 at 8:23 pm #72879gr8jrfanMemberMan, I'm sick of hearing about all this new console stuff. I'm still happy with my PS3 and I can still see myself using it for at least 1-2 more years. They better include enough RAM for cross game chat this time!

Epic Fail!!
—I honestly don't know why I wrote November… The only reason I can think is because I'd just been reading the rumor of a November release for Japan and America, while the EU will have to wait till early 2014…
Still… What a fud
Perhaps I can ask Admin to change it
February 1, 2013 at 9:18 pm #72882scotty243MemberAlong with gr8, this is tiring me as well. The pricing on this will be unbelievable, as well. I'm still going to stick to my PS3 for some time since I haven't had the chance to play everything I've wanted to and the price of this PS4, Orbis, whatever thing will be ridiculous.
However, I might be the only in saying that I don't care for cross game chat that much. It'd be alright but I can't see myself using it as much as others…
February 1, 2013 at 10:51 pm #72883Seibei4211MemberIt probably wouldn't be worth getting the PS4 when it launches anyway. But the sooner it launches, the sooner it can start getting better and get better games. I waited two years to get the PS3, but it's still wildly underwhemling compared to what they've got now.
They'd be stupid not to put cross-game chat on the PS4, simply because Xbox already has it. It'd be nice to have the option to talk to people even in single player games and we also wouldn't have to deal with problems like Far Cry 3 and Hunted's voice chat problems. I imagine voice chat in singleplayer would be like when I was keeping gr8 company as he did the Warhammer co-op, but I was playing Ocarina of Time while he did that.
Oh, and the Share button on the new controller sounds great. Being able to record the previous 15 minutes of on-screen footage? It was awesome when Just Cause 2 and Joe Danger let you do it, except you'll be able to edit the filler out with this.
February 2, 2013 at 3:48 pm #72889emdeepeeMemberSo will we get this this year I wonder? If so I would guess we'd be looking more towards the end of the year which could end up putting it in direct competition with GTA which in itself is a console seller. So that would raise another interesting question as to whether GTA will be PS3 only or cross generation (as a launch title for PS4)?
Also an end of year release would presumably have a knock on effect for the yearly iterations of COD, Assassins Creed, FIFA etc (would people want to invest in those games or put their money towards a PS4?).
Either way its likely I wouldn't pick this up on launch. The one problem I had with my PS3 at launch was that the only thing I had to play for it was Motorstorm and had to wait quite some time for the really good games to roll in. Just look at Vita. A year on and there's barely a handful of must-own titles for it.
February 2, 2013 at 6:44 pm #72892scotty243MemberNow that I'm questioning this, I thought I remember seeing something about how Sony wouldn't reveal their console because they didn't want Microsoft to take their specs and stuff? If so, this would go completely against what they had said and also, I thought I remember seeing soething that they'd continue to focus on progressing the PS3 to perfection or whatnot for 10 years? Then again, that doesn't mean they won't release a PS4 but then again, what will be the point of still aiding the PS3?
February 3, 2013 at 4:49 pm #72901Doc-BMemberI was also toying about with the idea of GTA being a launch title but the dates just seems to clash a little to much… And that backwards compatibility and future DLC might also become a problem in future sales of the Ps4…
It does seem really strange that one of the potentially biggest selling games of the year is being placed so close to a new console launch…
One interesting speculation I've read is that GTA V has been made for 'next gen' consoles and is actually being 'ported back' for the Ps3 and 360… So that's good for Ps4 but not so much Ps3 perhaps? Next gen timed exclusive I hope not because Sony just don't have the cash? – This has now been denied by Rockstar
As for the price… I really don't think it's gonna be to much? Blu-ray and the Cell chip cost Sony a lot of money to develop, this time round it's mostly new versions of old tech.? I think people will be surprised at the price but for good reasons But I'm ready to be totally wrong when the details are revealed

I just hope this is about the Ps4 and has some solid information rather than just a silly name reveal and what it looks like…
E3 looks like it might be pretty good this year though, no?
February 9, 2013 at 12:50 am #72918scotty243MemberOh wait, I didn't know this thread was for the new Call of Duty
November release, right?
February 11, 2013 at 1:49 pm #72922I773D33MABL3MemberI have to agree with emdeepee that a launch date for the end of this year woyld be very strange. October/November is typically the busiest period of the year for AAA releases and Sony aren't going to want to hamper those sales. Nor would any publishers want to release games for a console that's going to become old news in the same month.
Likewise, I'd be stunned if GTA V was announced as cross-platform. Sony will want a launch line-up of titles that will have PS4 snatched up. No-ones going to fork out on a next-gen console to play a game that'll run on their existing hardware.
I'd hazard a guess that we'll see another Q1 launch. It's the second busiest time of the year for big releases and I'd expect them to want most of those as launch titles. Maybe we'll finally see 'The Last Guardian'…
And I think Doc is right about the pricing. The price tag on PS3 hampered it on launch and they cut it as soon as possible.
February 14, 2013 at 12:47 pm #72943emdeepeeMemberLets be honest price wise we're always gonna get fcuked over in the UK. I would guess £400 would be the best we could hope for at release.
February 18, 2013 at 11:58 pm #72968scotty243MemberIs anyone else speculating PS Vita 2? Or Vita Go? That'd be quite wicked to see since Sony has a past of not supporting there handhelds much!

You obviously haven't tried Wake Up Club on the Vita yet Scotty. BEST. APP. EVER.
