ok crisis centre over disappearing members

We defeinetly need moderators considering that Admin hasn't been on in weeks, and what about the members that never post, at the time of me typing this there is 3029 and out of them only 45 or so of us are active.

We need someone to replace Admin if he is not going to be here for a while.

Yes the reason people are leaving these forums, is that Admin has not been on to moderate or check up on anything.. he really needs to get some moderators. Unfortunately, the only way to be a moderator is to be appointed by Admin.. this forum is going down.. if Admin doesnt do something, and fast, I'm gonna leave. Its getting ridiculous. 

Not to be argumentative, but Admin never really reigned things in before. As far as I can see there are only a handful of locked threads (a tiny fraction of the ones that ended up as fights) and I only know of one banning. He tended to let you do what you liked for the most part and only got involved if things got to a stage where someone was being seriously abused or to lock the odd duplicate thread.
 
And I can’t understand the growing opinion that the site is going downhill. I’ve been coming here since 2008 and there has always been disputes. Have you guys all forgotten the trophy comments for ‘Age of Booty’, ‘Terminator Salvation’ and any game that was perceived as only being for kids and trophy whores? Hell, how many fights were there over what qualified as a trophy whore/true gamer?
 
Maybe I’m missing something, but from what I can see there’s only been one recent thread that actually contained trolling and flaming, it might have spilled over in places but some people on here are reacting as if it’s an epidemic.
 
Any thread that I’ve checked to specifically help me with a game, trophy or hardware issue has had minimal crap and, in general, the advice/info I was looking for. As long as that keeps up then I think this site will work quite well.

It would appear that Admin has become a victim of his own success. When I signed up around a year ago there was just over 1500 members. That has since doubled in the following 12 months and although not all of those registered members are regular posters in the forums, there has certainly been a massive increase in posts/threads etc.

Why admin has chosen to post and moderate less is only known to him, but I'm sure if he was sick of “argumentative/flaming” posts rather than just ignore the problem he would just shut the site down. He has already stated in the past that he runs the site at a loss, so it would make no sense just to leave it running.

As sad as it is that Barkie has chosen to leave the site due to the incessant arguing between certain members, it does seem a bit of an over-reaction on his part. No-one forced him to read the posts and I'm sure it was more likely morbid curiousity which compelled him to do so. With any luck, he'll take a few days away from the site and will return soon enough.

At the end of the day this is certainly one of the best PS3 trophy sites “with an awesome community” and I'm sure it'll return to that after all this “Holiday Madness”
