Just curious what APTers are using! List your basic specs too and your 5 most used programs I am a PC user, haven't used MAC extensively but can appreciate it is more resourceful than windows

My PC:

Dell XPS 420
- dual OS Partition Windows Vista and Windows 7
- Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600
- ATI Radeon HD 3870 X2
- 750GB HDD (3.5″ SATA II)
- 4GB Ram
- Bluetooth and Cardreader
My Laptop:

HP DV7 1055ea
- Windows Vista
- Intel Core 2 Duo T9400
- Nvidia GeForce 9600M GT
- 500GB (2×250GB 2.5″ SATA II)
- 4GB RAM
- Optiarc BD ROM
- Intel Wifi 5100 agn
My 5 Most used Programs:
- Google Chrome
- Adobe Photoshop CS4
- Adobe Dreamweaver CS4
- VLC
- Netbeans

Mac desktop computer:

4GB Ram

Mac OS X 10.5.8

2.66 Ghz Intel Core 2 Duo

Bluetooth and Wi-Fi

Wish i could be more specific.. can't really think right now lol!

External devices:

Digidesign M-Box 2 Mini (if you want to record music, this is the best and cheapest way to do it!)

My 5 Most Used Programs:

– Pro Tools LE 8

– Safari

– iTunes

– Adobe Photoshop CS4

– ffmpegX

I'm a PC, but i'd like to get a mac.

Specs:

ASUS P5K-E Wifi motherboard

NVIDIA GeForce 8600GT (Overclocked)

Intel Core 2 Duo

2GB RAM

500GB HDD (with 80GB external)

Windows XP (I did have Vista, but i hated it)

a simple laptop, that i have for school work and downloading, dont know the specs, so quick google search and a read of the coke cola stained stickers is in order

processor-AMD AthlonX2 dual, if that makes any sense..

RAM-2.00gb upgraded from 1gb

HDD-100gb, dont need any more but might get another 500gb external for downloaded movies and music like i did with the ps3

system type-32 bit operating system

running windows vista

most used software;

Firefox

anydvd

nero Home essentials 7 SE

Microsoft office enterprise ( i think, its the second most expensive bundle) 2007

itunes

and all my patching, emulating, converting, modding software for my psp iso's and ds roms

i use PC unfortunately cos i don't have the cash to buy a MAC £999 for a laptop piss off even if they are better but i am considering changing my OS to linux

very nice system (ridiculously good RAM!)well worth the money i'd say! Have you tried OSX86 ? you could probs figure it out fairly easily, its a nice OS not as good as genuine Mac OS but good fun when you get it installed!

i need new speakers on mine. they've been blown for a while now and it sux cuz my gf got accepted to an art uni in london, england and i cant do video chats with her cuz i cant hear her >.<

actually the ram only cost me £99. the cooler was £20 i think. which i think is great value for the speed and timings.

i forgot to mention, i have an asus VW266H 26″ 1080p monitor, and a samsung 5.1 dvd home theatre speaker system setup to go with it.

a little crowded on the desk, but worth it for the sound.

haven't tried osx86 yet. may put it on a dummy machine see how it goes. my main will always be a win-pc though. Though if it works well, I may offer it as a solution to customer's OS choice. Most open source programs are well built – especially if they get enough people contributing towards it. for now though, I'll stick with windows.
