playstation home closed beta

so i got into playstation home closed beta.. it was quite interesting at first but got boring VERY fast. everything is so limited at the moment and there isnt much to do. for any of you interested in home read further

the email with the key said to be in the central court between 6-8 pacific to meet with a sony rep. after waiting 2 hours AFTER the deadline the sony rep never showed up. there was no notice to let us know that we should just leave. (really pissed a lot of people off)

if your a female DONT BOTHER with home. over the course of a few hours being logged in i ran into 3 females (not sure if they were really female) but they were harassed by SWARMS of guys. it was really sad to see that the females in question had their first experience totally ruined by a bunch of immature jackasses. and when i say harassed i dont mean oh hey baby your cute kind of crap im talking seriously offensive graphic and sexual comments being made.

surprisingly the home beta had VERY little lag.. almost none at all and i found that to be really shocking as i expected a ton of lag especially with my crappy comcast connection. movement is very fluid and the controls are great the only gripe i have about it is that you cant make your character jump i know that seems silly but hey.. i like to jump on stuff damnit!!. the custom character options are great and will be AMAZING once they allow more things such as more clothing, hairstyles, facial hair, accessorys.

in home its possible to visit several areas. your apartment where you can change the appearance anyway you please (with limitations atm). a movie theatre to watch some game trailers with surprisingly good detail and the sound quality is fantastic. there is a shopping mall type area with several different stores to buy furniture, clothing blah blah you get the idea. from the look of things it seems that all of these items will be purchased with ACTUAL funds through the playstation store and i honestly do not like that idea. when your done shopping and harassing the few females in the community you can head over to the bowling alley and play a few games with others. this is actually pretty creative and cool. you can play pool you can play a few arcade games such as echochrome, icebreaker and some other piece of crap i cant recall cause its always taken haha and you can even bowl a game with friends on one of the few lanes available (6 i think) also in the central court there is a small stage area with some stereo looking thing that plays music for everyone to dance too… kinda silly and the music sucks but has potential.

after checking it out i gotta say im impressed. BUT some things need to change.. and hopefully there will be someone taking care of the abusive people in the community on a regular basis because a lot of people were trying to be downright rude annoying and offensive and they should be removed quickly. i really cant wait to see what kinds of awesome things they make available in the future. home has soooo much untapped potential and i will def be keeping my eye on it
